Chapter Forty-Five
The sound of cool breeze and birds chirping entered the room, making its way to my ears. My chest rose slowly and fell like it was synced to the beat of a steady song. Maybe more like a love song. The sun snuck its way into the room, creating a flood of light. The light enchanted my closed eyes, forcing them to open.
The first thing I saw was my dashingly handsome fiancé, soulfully watching me as I woke up. His scruffy hair fanned out, with his intoxicating sleepy smile, jumpstarted my heart to flutter around my chest.
My body flushed against his, like we had moulded together like clay. I traced my fingers on his chest, enabling me to bite down on my lip. His strong feel and hold under my delicate hands, caused flashbacks from last night to swirl around my head like a movie.
"Good morning sleepyhead." Alexander said in slumberous tone, as he tightened the grip around me.
"Good morning to you." I whispered, whilst planting a short and sweet peck on his chest.
Alexander shuddered as my lips met his skin. He took a sharp breath in as if he was holding back. I could feel the tension in his body, no doubt he wanted to repeat last night's action.
I chuckled at the thought, shaking my head at dreaming of doing it all over again. It was a new day, which meant we had to both go to the office.
"What's funny?" Alexander asked with his brows raised.
"Nothing. I'm just thinking how I got lucky to have you as my fiancé." I consoled while meeting back with Alexander's eyes. His fiery pupils latched onto me, as if any moment I would be enchanted under his command like a cobra.
Before my body could react, in a split-second Alexander pulled me closer as if we weren't already close, with me now on top of him. Realising that we were both still naked under the sheets, I was able to feel every inch and every aspect of his warm, lush and heart-melting body.
Forced to look down to meet his eyes, my hair fell, spiralling down all over him. He then brushed my caramel blonde locks behind my ear. The feeling of him pushing my hair back will never get old. Moment when he did this, a shock would shoot around my body, enabling me to yearn more for him.
As much as I loved the closeness and time with him, I had to be the boring one and remind him of work.
"We should get ready, and go to the office." I winced at my words.
Alexander turned his head slightly towards the left, checking the clock that was situated on the bedside table.
"We still have plenty of time. I'm sure Lily can open up the office, if she needs us, she can always ring." Alexander curled his lips in to devilish smile.
I felt like I was on a high, I didn't want this to end and I wanted to make the most of this time right now. Stretching slightly upwards, my lips found its way to his. At first my lips connected with his, slowly gliding around. Till Alexander couldn't take any more of the slow pace, he attacked ferociously with his lips forcing his tongue to enter my mouth.
A ripple of shockwaves traveled around my body, they got more intense as we quickened the pace of our kiss. As if we didn't have enough of each other last night, we were greedily consuming one another, once again.

After an extended morning with Alexander, trying to get ready, we finally made our way downstairs. Feeling like a new embraced women and the fiancé of Mr Pierce, I opted to wear a new dress for work.
I decided on a black midi pencil dress that had a tie front. It had a plunged neckline, making sure not to reveal too much, but also making sure that the divine necklace Alexander gifted me was on show. The sleeves fell just below my elbows, flaring out. I paired it with blush coloured open toe heels.
Alexander looking sexy as ever, opted for buttoned shirt, white like a cloud. He paired it with a pinstripe suit jacket and trousers, where the prominent colour was navy. Both jacket and trousers were slim fitted, where his toned and chiselled body were hugged by his clothes.
When we got to the main room, Maggie flashed her teeth as she beamed a smile towards us.
"Good morning Mr Pierce, and good morning Louisa. How are-" A long gasp ruptured from Maggie's mouth stopping her from completing her sentence.
Her eyes were fixated on the flashy diamond ring sitting on my finger. Maggie's eyes were popped open, her mouth was hanging open. She made her way to us, holding my hand to get a better look.
"You said yes?!" She exclaimed.
"You knew?" I questioned Maggie as she admired the diamond rock.
"Alexander told me his plan. I was praying all night you'd say yes. I am so happy for you guys congratulations!" She gushed looking back and forth between Alexander and I.
"Thank you Maggie." I chuckled, feeling slightly off guard as she hugged me tightly, laughing, causing me to laugh with her.
"Now, would you guys like breakfast?" Maggie excitedly asked, still in awe of our engagement.
"We'd love to but we can't, we're already running late for the office, but I think today calls for your famous lasagne. Can you make it tonight?" Alexander answered for us. With the mention of Maggie's famous lasagne, my mouth began to salivate.
"Of course! I'd be more than happy to make my lasagne. Anything for Mr Pierce and future Mrs Pierce." Maggie happily responded.
I feel myself glow red like a tomato. My heart skipped within my chest, at the thought and mention of me being Mrs Pierce.

Alexander and I strode proudly, entering our office, with our hands entangled around each other.
All of a sudden, the sunshine and happiness that flooded within me, drowned out of my body as I saw Rebecca waiting in Lily's office.
My heart felt like it had sunk to the depths of the ocean. I knew what she was here for, this was something I didn't want to think about, especially not now.
Looking over my shoulder at Lily, I shook my head to get some sort of answer from her. Lily mouthed m 'sorry' and shrugged her shoulders. It was then when I realised that, Rebecca probably told her not to call me.
"I thought I'd wait for you in the office, rather than ring you, as you like to ignore my calls." Rebecca said in stern tone as she walked up to me.
Nervously I let a sighed chuckle. I felt Alexander's hand tighten around mine, I felt comfortable knowing he was there beside me.
"Have you made a decision?" Rebecca asked, as she tilted her head to the side waiting for my reply.
For a moment I held back on my dread and fear of the trial, I thought about what I truly wanted. Maybe it would be me to send Charles down. I thought about the possibility of getting vile people like him away from society.
Clearing my head of doubts, whilst clenching down on my jaws, I took a long breath in and and exhaled slowly.
"Fine. I'll do it." I said feeling determined.
"What? Louisa, are you sure?" Alexander abruptly interjected before Rebecca could say anything.
I turned to face Alexander. "I need to do this. This will be hard, but this is something I need to do. I'm prepared."
Alexander understood my determination, and nodded his head, placing a soft kiss on my forehead. He understood my thoughts, without me telling or explaining to him.
"Great!" Rebecca exclaimed clapping her hands, "I will let my team know that you are ready to give evidence. Charles's trial is next month, so we need to do everything in our power to prepare and take him down. I'll be in contact, so don't ignore my calls."
Rebecca marched over to the door and just before exiting, she turned to me.
"Oh, and congratulations by the way." She simply said giving me a quick wink, and nod at the ring on my finger. Not allowing me to respond, she hastily exited from the office.
I heard a small gasp from Lily, she made her way over to us. Her mouth wide open and eyes shot apart, like Maggie, beaming behind her glasses.
"You said yes. Congratulations!" She's happily said, while jumping up ever so slightly, like an excited child.
"Thank you, Lily. So, you knew as well?" I asked, narrowing my eyes towards Lily.
"Well, when Alexander told me to give you that note, he told me his plan." Lily shyly replied edging her glasses up.
I had no words, I was stunned and blown away by everything. Right now, remembering that I was Alexander's fiancé, I felt like nothing from the trial could hurt me. With Alexander by my side, I felt like I could take on anything.
"I think we should host a little engagement party. What do you say?" Alexander asked as he peers towards me.
"We should definitely have a party. Lily, I will leave it to you to plan and sort out, how does that sound?" I replied gushing with excitement.
"Leave it with me." Lily chirped, walking back towards her desk.
So much had happened within the last twenty-four hours. I embarked on a new journey with Alexander. I bravely made the snap judgement of giving evidence at Charles's trial. I felt nervous, thinking what else the day was bound to bring, but I was prepared for anything and everything.
Amongst what had been happening, I came to a realisation that I needed to tell Sarah my happy news. It felt like I had barely spoke to Sarah, and I was missing her.
Her being distanced from me, felt strange, something that I wasn't used to. She was my best friend, and I didn't want her to feel distanced from me. I was determined to find out what was occurring with Sarah, as I needed my best friend to share my happiness.
