"Wait, what did you just say?" Alexander blurted out as he made his way out of the bathroom.

I nodded my head at him, whilst looking at his movements through the mirror. "Sarah and Calum are apparently together. All this secrecy and strange behaviour from Sarah, was because she was hiding the fact that she was sleeping with Calum."

Just them words coming out of my mouth was hard to gather. It still didn't feel right, my mind wasn't caught up with the recent news. I wasn't sure how long it would take for me to accept this.

Alexander placed himself on the edge of the bed, trying to understand what I had told him. He lightly shook his head, trying to compute it all.

"How can she do this? She was there for you when he broke your heart. She's the one who told you to think about marrying him before you regret it. Now she's sleeping with him." Alexander hissed.

The confusion in his face was now overtaken by anger and frustration. He couldn't stomach to see me hurt over this, when in reality I didn't feel hurt. I didn't know how I felt about this whole situation. It was like my body was numb to the news.

I walked over to Alexander, enabling him to calm down. I got close to him and he looked up towards me, locking me in with his eyes. His overpowering hands snaked around my hips, causing me to land on his lap.

Wrapping my arms around Alexander, I leaned my forehead to connect with his. I felt his shoulders relax, like a candle melting. The rage he almost exploded with, was burnt out with my touch.

"I'm not angry or hurt by this whole thing. I'm just confused. Maybe they make each other really happy, who am I to get in the way of that." My words spill out of me as I reassured Alexander.

Alexander slightly backed his head, so our eyes met again. "I just want to make sure you're alright."

"I have the most caring, kind, loving, and not to forget, sexiest fiancé. Nothing in this world can hurt me, as long as I have you. I admit Sarah and Calum being a thing is strange, and will take time getting used to. But, that's the least of my worries. I just care about us. I care about our engagement party. I care about walking down that aisle and becoming Mrs Pierce." I consoled Alexander with my words.

I saw the aura in his eyes, they softened and they drew me in closer. His one hand cupped my cheek, caressing it with his thumb.

"And that's all I care about. If you are okay then I'm happy." He lovingly replied, closing the small gap we had between us.

My lips connected with his, like a magnetised field. What started off as a slow meaningful dance between our lips and tongue, turned into frantic movements like our lips were yearning for each other.

My tongue hungrily danced around his mouth, feeling every taste and sensation. A charged-up energy, bolted through my body. I leaned in closer to get more of Alexander, only for him to lose his balance and fall back on the bed with me on top.

Whilst still connected to his lips, I readjust myself with my knees either side of him, I straddled him. His alluring hands found its way to my bare back. Electricity within his touch ignited my body, every aspect where his hands lay scorched my body.

Shockwaves ran through me like a tidal wave. We devoured each other like we were about to have our last meal as prisoners.

My hands found the bottom of Alexanders shirt, I tugged it upwards trying to take it off, without leaving his lips. Just as I was getting into the rhythm of things, a ring from Alexander's phone blares besides us.

The deafening ring caused us to slow down, and eventually stop as the phone was on the go, with no sign of being silenced. I grunted in frustration.

"Why does this happen every time!" I exclaimed feeling breathless from the passion. I took myself off from Alexander, motioning for him to answer the damned phone.

"We are keeping our phones on silent from now on." I let out in a moody tone as I crossed my arms like a sad child who didn't get candy.

"You got that right." Alexander chuckled as he climbed up from the bed to answer the call.

While Alexander tended to the call, my thoughts drifted away from reality for a while. My mind was cast back to Sarah and Calum. I felt like I needed to sit down with them and have a serious chat. We all needed to get everything off our chest and out in the open. I wanted to go back to how I was with Sarah.

"Louisa." Alexander excitedly called out my name, snapping me out of my deep thoughts. "That was Jason, him and Rose have settled down. They've invited us to their place for dinner, tomorrow."

My mood was slightly lifted. I needed this distraction.

"That's great to hear. It'll be nice to go over to their house." I calmly replied.

"Baby, we don't have to go. You've got so much going, if you're not up to it we can leave it." Alexander lovingly soothed towards me, as he sat next to me on the bed. Wrapping his arm around me, bringing me in to his chest.

"No, it's okay. I want to go. I need the distraction," I said, taking in his strong cologne and the warmth radiating from his chest.

"Are you sure?" Alexander asked, gliding his hands down my hair, massaging me.

I nodded as confirmation. My body was relaxed and my eye lids felt heavy, I wasn't able to form words. As Alexander kept me in his hold, I felt like I was drifting into the clouds.

The next day arrived relatively quick. The first half of the day consisted of going to office with Alexander, then to the mind churning meeting with Rebecca.

Towards the end of the day Alexander and I got ready to go to Jason and Rose's apartment for dinner.

Anticipation swirled around within me, safe to say I was feeling slightly nervous for some reason. Jason was Alexander's best mate, and when it came to close acquaintances, I deemed to have a bad experience.

I also wanted to make a good impression as I hoped that Rose and I would become good friends since our partners were quite close.

We walked up to a modern town house situation in the heart of the city. Bright lights shine through the windows, the house illuminated a homely feel.

After knocking on the door, we waited for a while, hand in hand, for the door to open. A sound of heavy thud made its way to us, the locked churned and the door was finally
opened.

"Alexander! It is good to see you!" Jason roared with happiness, pulling Alexander into a grand hug.

I carefully watched the interaction between Jason and Alexander. It was like two long lost brothers finally reuniting. Jason was like the blonde version of Alexander. Soft, slick back blond hair, light stubble across his face and a beaming smile showing his pearly white teeth.

"Louisa! It is lovely to meet you," Jason chimed as he got out of his hug from Alexander. Instead of extending his hand towards me, he placed his hand on his chest and leaned slightly forward, showing a sense of respect. I was amazed and impressed at the level of respect Jason had.

"It's lovely to see you finally. In the flesh." I laughed.

Jason motioned for us to come in, we entered his warm home and made our way to the kitchen, where Rose was buried away in sorting the table out. She momentarily looked up and a wide smile shone on her face.

Rose looked absolutely stunning. She had luscious honey blonde hair, that was straight and short, just reaching her shoulders. Her almond shaped eyes complimented her elegant arched brows. She had deep dimples on both sides as she smiled. She was dressed in a classic knee length peach coloured dress, that hugged her hourglass figure.

"Alexander and Louisa! It is so good to see you!" She chirped in a soft American accent.

She made her way to welcome me with a hug, and for Alexander, like Jason, she placed her hand on her chest, leaning forward ever so slightly. The night slowly ascended in chatter and food.

"So. Alexander. I have a proposition." Jason let out, as he slightly stretched himself from all the food he gobbled up. Alexander arched his brow, and nodded for Jason to explain.

"When Rose and I landed in the UK, I saw a great plot of land. I was intrigued by it so I made some enquiries. The land is for sale, so it got me thinking. I wanted to build affordable and eco-friendly houses, but I wanted to venture this project with you. So, what do you say?"

Alexander turned his head to me, lifting his brows. I lifted my brows back to him as a response, I was quite intrigued myself about this venture Jason had.

"Interesting, tell me more." Alexander replied leaning in on the table.

Jason chuckles as he obtained both our attention. "I've got it all planned out. We could easily build about fifteen houses. I know a guy who can help us plan it out, the contractors and builders are sorted. I found a great interior designer who can help us design the inside. All I need, is you to help me invest in this. It'll be fifty, fifty, no messing about, it'll be both our names in the project."

"Erm? Excuse me what about us?" Rose beamed, waving her hands between us.

"It'll be our project." Jason laughs, motioning his hand to all of us on the table. "The four of us can be the dream team."

"Come by the office tomorrow and we'll talk more." Alexander chuckled, shooting a excited wink towards Jason.

We continued to chatter away, and drink tantalising wine as the night continued. As we ended the night, Rose and I exchanged numbers. She was persistent on the idea of hanging out and shopping; to which I was more than happy to hang out with her.

This night was different to what I had expected. At the start I was worried meeting Jason and Rose, but both of them made us feel welcome. This was the type of distraction I needed and I was happy to hang out more with Rose. Rose was a lovely and respectful woman, I spent the whole night laughing away causing me to have stitch in my stomach.

With Jason bringing our attention to his venture, I was also intrigued to get stuck into a new project with Alexander. With the trial coming up and new revelations from Sarah and Calum, this was the best type of distraction I needed. To get my mind cast away from the harsh reality.
