This is the Eden Dictionary! If you see a word or phrase that's unfamiliar and don't know its meaning or origin, come here to find information about it! This will update as chapters come out and more phrases and lore are added to the story, so check here often! Also! If I forgot to include something please let me know as quickly as possible!

Original Lareigna's.
The pioneers of their races. One human, one mystique. They are the founders of their people and also the cause and reason for the hatred passed down for generations. What exactly happened between them is unknown, as well as what happened to them.

The First Fall Of Eden.
The war between Mankind and Mystiques that resulted in the earth to stop turning, many natural disasters followed it, cleansing the earth of what it formally was and thus turning it into what is now known as Eden. They call it the 'first' because they suspect there will be a second.

New Laws Of Nature.
Because the earth stopped turning many catastrophic events followed and continue to do so, reshaping what was once originally the laws of nature and turning it into something completely unfamiliar and unpredictable. Tornados, Earthquakes, natural disasters of all kinds will happen unexpectedly throughout the weeks, but it happens only on each side of Edens Furnace & Freezer and tends to not largely affect The Olive Branch.

Serynium's Eye.
After The First Fall Of Eden, 90% of Eden was submerged underwater, and some Mystiques believe that Serynium, the Goddess of Water took pity on the people and blessed them with a large supply of food such as fish and sea creatures, so that they might be able to hunt and prosper, others, however, believed it was a threat, threatening to submerge what was left of the land underwater unless they worshipped her, whether it's out of fear or love everyone worships Serynium. They named the 90% Ocean portion of Eden "Serynium's eye" to honour her. Most citizens of The Olive Branch reside on Seryniums eye, inhabiting boats and floating cities.

"May Serynium's Tears Be With You".
In other words, it's basically a "God Bless You" type of thing, only the tears symbolize Serynium's sacrifice and suffering for her people, so by Serynium sacrificing, everyone is blessed.

The Council.
The Council consists of twelve people, one representative from each race, that make all the choices and laws concerning Eden and it's people. Each member of the council has the ability to communicate with the Goddesses and carry out their wishes. The most advanced AI's belong to The Council by default. The Council is the equivalent to a King, they make all the rules and only the goddesses are higher in status. The only way for a council member to stop being a council member, is if they die. Death on the Council is viewed as a retirement from their position. Everybody believes that the Council members have eternal life and will live as gods after they depart from this one; making a position on the Council very appealing to the public eye. This encourages everyone to live obedient and devoted lives. "If you dedicate your life to Serynium she may choose you for the Council one day"

The Matching System.
When a citizen of the Olive Branch reaches the age of sixteen, they go through a series of tests and evaluations monitored by psychologists. Taking their genetics, mental history, and many other factors into account, the results of the tests determine who that individual should be matched with in order to produce the best possible heir. The system can take years to properly calculate your Match with the given Data they have from all the other members of the Olive Branch. Once you're eighteen, your match should have been calculated, but depending on their age at the time will depend on how long you have to wait in order to be matched with them *(note that neither members of the match will be aware of who the other person is until they are both eighteen or older)*. Unless you're a member of Prodigy Breeding, you typically won't be matched with anyone that is older or younger than two years of you. This is because the system wants to reproduce as quickly and efficiently as possible. Once both individuals in the Match are twenty years old or above, they are to be married and produce an heir immediately. They have the space of two years (before one or both of them are old enough to be married) to get to know each other; the Matching System assigns an employee to assist in the advancement of your partnership. Despite the union of a Match being called a Marriage it is not necessarily a romantic partnership. Of course you're allowed to love your match, but you also aren't forced to. You can have relationships and such outside of the marriage if you so desire, so long as it does not negatively impact the development of the heir.

Prodigy Breeding.
While everyone gets matched in order to have an advanced child, the Prodigy Breeding Program is for those few special individuals who have excellent genes and have taken exceptional care of themselves and their bloodline. They're paired with someone else with other spectacular qualities and are allowed to have as many kids as they want, although, any right you have to your child and the way in which they are raised is completely dependent upon the council. Dietary restrictions, education, wardrobe, future career, etc. Only the smallest and simplest choices are left to the individual child to make, aside from those, the council practically owns you. Products of Prodigy Breeding (by products I mean children) are looked at as the next leaders of society which is why everything they do is so heavily monitored. Prodigy matches are matched together as soon as the matching system finds an eligible match. When the two children are matched--no matter the age-- leave their homes and live together under the care of servants and professionals that couch them in having the most efficient and cooperative partnership possible. It should also be noted that Prodigy children are rare, which is why they are handled with the utmost care. Only a few characters in the roleplay will be prodigy children and or chosen for prodigy breeding.

Progressive Breeding
Preogressive Breeding includes any and all citizens of the Olive Branch. It's the process of matching to have a superior generation, and then another, and another. Parents and children in this program have worlds more freedom than those in the Prodigy Breeding Program. The only thing that is not up to an individual's own choice is who they are matched with, the way in which their child is raised is completely up to them. Though people generally aim to raise their child as perfect as possible in hopes that they'll be selected for Prodigy Breeding when their turn comes around.

Astos Serie
Astos Serie is the name of the only religion on Eden. This religion worships the Goddess Serynium and only the Goddess Serynium. Any other religion, worshipping any other Goddess is a criminal act. It is a mandate to be a Astoser as well as attend all of their sermons and rituals. Their methods may be...unorthodox, but the majority of this religion is generally a peaceful and fluid people, trying to teach and live as many qualities of water as possible. However, they have their moments.

Bezillis Rituals.
A Ritual (Meeting) performed to ask Serynium for blessings every New Moon. Everyone is required to attend. The Astoser's gather together in their nearest temple and each person individually prays for blessings they want or need. After everyone finishes their individual prayers, they all together pray for blessings upon Eden.

Gratician Rituals.
A Ritual (Meeting) performed every Full Moon to thank Serynium for all that they have, and take note of all that they are grateful for. Again, everyone says their individual prayers of gratitude before praying together to thank Serynium for the prosperity of the Olive Branch. Parties are often held after the Ritual to celebrate another day under Seryniums watchful care.

The Olive Branch.
The Olive Branch is the line that separates the scorching hot part of the world from the freezing cold part. It WILL be the only survivable place on Eden and it has the most normal and ideal temperatures. They call it The Olive Branch as they believe it is a blessing and an opportunity for survival given to them by the Goddess's. The Olive Branch is a beautiful "city" that stretches all the way around the world. It's technology is top notch. Most transportation consists of front runners, blimps, and boats. A large part of The Olive Branch is built on water. It's called a city but it's more like a continent. It's split into 15 sections. When someone is matched they leave their section no matter the distance (who leaves is decided upon who has the financial upper hand). A border surrounds The Olive Branch at the location the temperature's of the Furnace and Freezer become too uncomfortable to live in. Outside of the main city are a few houses and farmland, however, the farther away from the city you get, the more danger your life is in. Rumors are that the temperatures outside the wall are increasing, and soon the walls will need to be brought farther in.

Eden's Furnace and Freezer.
Eden's Furnace & Freezer represents the hot and cold part of the earth, each side has extreme temperatures and the farther you travel away from The Olive Branch the worse the temperatures get. On either side, many many natural disasters happen, and again, the farther away you get the more dangerous it is. Both the Furnace and the Freezer are complete mysteries for the Mystiques and they only travelled as far as what was comfortable for them, nobody knows what's out there.

The Border.
The Border is what separates The Olive Branch from The Furnace and the Freezer. The border is placed at the location the temperatures stop getting comfortable on either side. The Border is a large stone wall with skyscraper heights. It is meant to be impenetrable, however, there have been reports of spotted holes in and under the wall.

Blood and Soul Supply.
There are Vampires, Ghosts, Demons ect in this roleplay, and clearly they don't exactly eat normal food, so the Blood and Soul Supply is a program designed to take the blood and soul of all of the criminals and use it to feed the Races that require...a different kind of diet. It's as simple as picking up a bag of blood from the grocery store-- "Oh! You're looking for O Negative? Isle 12; and the kidneys are just around the corner."

Key, Lock & Chain.
An organization from just outside The Border that harvests Elf Ears, Mermaid Tales, Angel Wings, Fangs, and much more of what makes the Mystique races, well, Mystique. It's believed that Key Lock and Chain sells the parts to the Beasts Of The Wastelands. It's a secret organization, and it's unclear how they get in and outside so quickly. They've left no evidence but the cries of their victims.

Elder Elves
Elder Elves are just as their name sounds. They're elves that are old. They have lived for an exceptionally long time, and their wisdom and knowledge is highly sought after. They are often teachers, religious leaders, council advisors...or fortune tellers trying to scam people.

Familiar
A Familiar is a nice name for a Servant. Being a familiar is a normal thing, in fact, it's one of the most popular occupations. Your position as a familiar can mean anything. It basically just implies that you're someone's personal employee. You could be a financial advisor, a cook, a personal assistant, a maid, a prostitute, the list goes on. Some households have familiars simply to have a companion to keep around. The wages familiars are paid are generally low, but so many work as one because you simply have to be good enough at SOMETHING, and you're sure to find a job somewhere. (Being a familiar of a wealthy family is much more respectable, especially if you're field is something important)

Masters
Masters are the owners of familiars. Many middle class families will have familiars as a means to take the workload off their shoulders a bit, but the upper class have hundreds of familiars so that they simply don't have to do any work at all.

Beasts Of The Wastelands
They're a group of people who left The Olive Branch and live outside of the border, they buy things from the Key Lock & Chain, and do trading with people inside of The Olive Branch, though it is illegal.

The Lost And Found Program.
Sorry baby fishies, but you're in the dark on this one until further notice.

Orion.
The only Male God: Orion. Aeons ago there was a war between the Gods and Goddesses, and the Goddesses won, banishing all the Gods and taking away their immortality and power. Orion was the only one they spared, because he was young, pure, and lovable. But that didn't last forever, eventually he grew resentful that the Goddesses had taken away his brothers, thus causing him to give a Curse to every mortal that worshipped the Goddesses. He cursed them with one sin each Mystique would have to carry on their shoulders their entire lives. A curse that was intended to complicate lives.

*P.S people the Goddesses winning the war has nothing to do with feminism, women rights, battle of the sexes or anything of the sort. That's just how it goes merely because that's what's convenient for the story.

Order.
The Guard and law enforcers of Eden. They are equivalent to that of a royal guard or the military. They have special access to weapons and transportation, and are given the highest training available. You can only become a member of Order if you've been given the calling by Serynium. However, it's mandatory that every citizen serves 2 years amongst Orders ranks; this doesn't mean you are a permanent member, only that you are serving your time in Edens military. Order was originally formed by the Goddess of Order, Javeese, but when Serynium took over, Order became something internally different. Many of its members still greatly admire and respect Javeese, despite the mandatory worship.

Nature Spirit Farms.
Nature spirits show up around the Olive branch at random. They're born from the death of pixie's and 'spawn' wherever the pixie dies. So whenever someone finds a Nature Spirit they tell the Order and then they move the spirit and it's plant to a Nature Spirit Farm. Which is basically a colony of Nature spirits where they farm, care for, and harvest the plant they protect. The Olive Branch gets all their harvested food from Nature Spirit Farms so finding Nature Spirits is crucial to the Olive Branches survival.
