I went up to my room and shut the door, because I was getting stressed out at everyone bringing up Drew's name as I heard heels clicking coming toward my door, so I grabbed my laptop and sat on my bed getting ready to start planning next week's schedule as my mama knocked on my door

"Analeigha, can I come in?" My mama said as I sighed

"Come in". I said fustrated

"Are you okay?" Mama said as I just sighed

"Why do y'all keep bringing Drew's name up, it's like everyday I hear it". I said as I looked at mama and back down at my laptop

"Analeigha, we don't mean too, it just keeps coming up and I'm sorry darling". My mama said as I got up and went to my window

"That's all I hear every single day mama, yes I dated Drew, was I dumb for doing it, yes I was, but he's no longer in my life, so please, quit bringing it up, and you can tell all of them down there to stop". I said as my face was red and I was using hand motions

"I am so sorry Analeigha, I never meant to hurt you, I know it's still hurting you, even though you're married to Alex, because Drew was the first boyfriend you ever had, and I will go downstairs and tell them". My mama said as kissed my cheek and left my room

"I just want all the Drew controversy gone". I said to myself

Downstairs

Everyone was talking as I walked down and they all stared at me, Memaw saw how sad I was, and she's the only one that I like to talk to about my problems as I went to sit beside her, I just laid my head on her shoulder to rest

"What's wrong baby?" Memaw said as I almost nodded off

"Why does everyone keep bringing Drew up?" I said as she kissed the side of my head

"I don't know baby, but I don't talk about him". Memaw said as she wrapped one arm around me

"Sorry Memaw, I didn't mean you". I said as she caressed my back

"It's alright baby, but people like drama apparently, and that's what people do to start a conversation, bringing up people's past". Memaw said

"I'm glad that you're not like them Memaw". I said in a real sad tone

"Why would I want to be, gossiping is about as low down as it gets". Memaw said

"Yeah, you're so lucky that you never got to hear what popular high school girls are like, especially when it's about an unpopular person, makes me sad that they do that". I said as I remember all the times I heard the popular girls talk about me and my friends

"Well, I loved school, but I never got to finish it, but I would scold someone for talking about someone that was my friend". Memaw said in a real serious tone

"I know you would Memaw, I just hope no one ever underestimates you". I said as I try not to picture Memaw angry

"I should tell your mama that you were young and that you really liked that boy, and you experienced your first heartache and heartbreak, it's painful, but you will heal eventually, even though you're married to Alex". Memaw said as she smiled at me

"If you can tell her to quit bringing it up, that would be great!". I said as mama looked at me from across the table where she was sitting

"I will baby, don't you worry, when it comes to your mama, she likes to bring stuff up that happens in the past". Memaw said as I hugged her

"Thank you Memaw, you're the best". I said still hugging her as I got up and gave her a kiss on the cheek

"You're welcome baby, and you are too". Memaw said as I got up and went back upstairs to finish plans for the dinner party next week
