Chapter 2: The Plane Ticket
Marikai~Paris
One month later. . .
Marikai and Yumi sat in the park by her house, feeding all the ducks and geese there.
“Hey, don’t steal each other’s bread. That’s not nice!” Marikai shouted, trying to stop the ducks from taking the bread from each other.
“You are so silly, Mari-chan. Yelling at ducks!” Yumi declared, chuckling happily.
“Well, they’re being mean!” She responded, putting her hands on her hips.
“Oh, Marikai Hagi. The only person I know who gets mad at animals for acting the way they’re naturally born to.” Yumi sighed, running a hand through his hair.
Marikai then started chasing a duck who stole her bag of bread that she had.
Yumi watched her in admiration.
You keep asking her out, but she keeps denying you. And yet, you’re still admiring her and hanging out with her. You’re a fool! He thought to himself.
Tamaki~Japan
Tamaki sat in the shadows of the Music Room, holding a half full bottle of soda. His clothes were wrinkled and he had a five o’clock shadow.
“Tamaki-senpai, why’re you hiding over here?” Arianna asked, spotting the Host Club King. Seeing his appearance, Arianna asked, “When was the last time you shaved, senpai?”
Tamaki just stared at the ceiling.
“Senpai?” Arianna touched his shoulder, trying to get his attention.
Tamaki spun around, clutching onto to Arianna’s leg and crying loudly.
“I miss her, Arianna! I want my Marikai back!” He shouted, tightening his grip on her leg.
“Tamaki, I would appreciate it if you let go of my girlfriend.” Kyouya said coolly, walking over to them and pulling Tamaki away from Arianna.
“Why won’t she come back, Kyouya? Doesn’t she care about us?” Tamaki had tears streaming down his face.
“She can’t come back, Tamaki, because of her mother’s job in Paris.” Kyouya replied, pushing his glasses up onto the bridge of his nose.
Tamaki sweat-dropped, running back into his corner of woe.
“He’s been like this ever since Marikai left. It’s starting to worry me, Kyouya.” Arianna said, worry clear on her face.
“Oh, don’t worry about Tamaki, love. He’ll be fine.” Kyouya said, pulling her close and stroking her hair.
“Are you sure? Tamaki-senpai isn’t acting like himself. . .”
"He’ll be fine. Don’t worry your pretty head about it, my princess. . .” Kyouya whispered, kissing her gently, though on the inside he had the same worries about Tamaki as Arianna had.
Marikai~Paris
Marikai lay in bed that night, dreaming of Tamaki.
They were dancing in an empty ballroom, a single spotlight on them.
“You look beautiful tonight, Marikai. . . As always. . .” Tamaki whispered in her ear, causing desire to spread throughout her body.
He dipped her, kissing the side of her neck and causing even more desire to spread through her body.
“Tamaki, it’s so good to see you!” Marikai declared, tears spilling out.
Tamaki remained silent as he pulled away from her, disappearing into the shadows.
“Why did you leave, Marikai?” His voice echoed throughout the room.
“I had to! My mother gave me no choice!” Marikai shouted, trying to peer through the darkness.
“You left us, Marikai. . . You left us. . .”
“No! I had no choice! My mother gave me no choice!” She screamed, tears rapidly falling down her cheeks.
“You left. . . You left. . . You left. . .”
“No, Tamaki!” Marikai sat upright in her bed, breathing heavy and crying.
Tamaki. . .
For the rest of the week, Marikai moped around the mansion, only getting up to use the bathroom and eat.
It was the weekend and Marikai’s mother had had enough.
“Marikai Hagi, I’ve had enough! I know you miss them so, here. I’ve booked you a flight to Japan for Sunday morning. Your flight leaves at 9:00 a.m. sharp.” Brigette held it out to Marikai.
Marikai, looking shocked took the ticket. "Mom, I don't know what to say."
"Just go pack." Bridgette responded, walking into the kitchen.
Marikai stared down at the ticket, absorbing it all in.
She was going back to Japan after six long months away. . .
