Sorry about that. Anyway, on a different note, I finally read a book all the way through! I've recently developed a..fear I guess of finishing books because once you do it's done. Re-reading isn't the same and some of the magic is lost...

But I read a book all the way through! It's wasn't long at all and it wasn't exactly fine writing and I'm not sure if I liked it or not but I finished it!

It was this book about the descendants of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. So it's two teenagers set in the modern day. Charlotte Holmes and James Watson. It's basically a fanfiction that got published, and it definitely has that air about it. There were plenty of parts I was less than a fan of. It has strong language first off. The f word was in it quite a few times, as well as some other curses. It mentions uh, you-know-what a good deal. It's never written in but it's offhandedly mentioned, which weirds me out because why do these people have sex lives they're teenagers. But thankfully it's only mentioned, no more. 

I was kept engaged and reading the whole time but not really because I loved it. It was like when I read The Maze Runner. It was a matter of wondering what was going to happen next, not an attachment. It wasn't amazing in my opinion but it was a good boredom read. Like a "Waiting for my food to finish in the oven" kind of read I guess. I don't know if I enjoyed it but, as I said, I was kept engaged and reading. It was kind of like a decently well-written fanfiction that has a lot of views but maybe is a little overrated. I can't recommend it but can't recommend against it either. I'm pretty neutral.

The villain is very, very, very evil. Charlotte had an...she was...okay so before the events of the book Charlotte Holmes had done some drugs (lots of mentions of that kind of stuff too) and the um, the murder victim, who was an awful person...took advantage of that...and uh, the villain had kind of orchestrated it...it's complicated and horrible and I felt like that wasn't necessary. Have you ever read one of those fanfics or stories or whatever where the main girl was or was almost, I don't want to say the word I just say graped usually it's dumb but the word makes me uncomfortable it's disgusting and I'm about as mature as a third grader when it comes to this kind of thing. Anyway the thing happens to the main girl and then the boy swoops into her life and sort of "makes it better"? It had that kind of feel. 

That's what I disliked most. It's a little...not graphic exactly. The villain is recreating certain Sherlock Holmes stories so it does get a little um, you know. A girl gets a plastic jewel stuffed down her throat at one point...she lives! But yeah. Anyway. It's an...interesting...read?
