I want to include more people of color in m writing but I have this kind of fear of being accidentally racist in how I phrase it? Like how I phrase my descriptions? I just don't want to write anything offensive. I think I did good with describing Grant and Serissa in The Serissa Chronicles. I like using comparisons and metaphors and similes and all that kind of stuff when describing characters and I'm very worried I'll write something that could be taken the wrong way. I would never intentionally write something offensive and I've never actually had the issue but it's one of my biggest fears when writing. Just phrasing in general is something I stress over a lot. How do I do this? I know this sounds really, really ignorant and I'm nervous to post this but I'd just like some advice maybe. I'm very very white but I don't want to whitewash my characters but I'm very nervous that I'll end up being insensitive in some way but I really want my writing and stories to have diversity so I need some help. I'm probably making a bigger deal out of this than it is but it's seriously one of my biggest fears as a writer.
