Mark made a video on gun control and it made me want to share my thoughts. I think that there should be very heavy regulations and background checks and psych evaluations when someone purchases a gun, especially if it's an assault rifle. My ideal solution would be to get rid of assault rifles in anything but military use, but that's very unlikely to happen. So instead I think that there should be a very intensive process when buying a gun. I'm not saying people shouldn't be able to, just that it shouldn't be easy. A gun is an extremely dangerous weapon and needs to be treated as such. 

The shooter in Florida would not have been able to purchase that weapon with stricter regulations. It was clear to many people that he was mentally ill and there was plenty of evidence on his social media that he should not own a weapon. 

I see many people argue that "the bad guys" will still have their guns and won't give a crap about purchasing them legally, but that's not the issue here. A 19 year old boy with mental heath issues and obviously malicious intent legally bought an assault rifle and used it to kill 17 other people and injure more. If he had purchased it illegally then we would be having a different conversation, but he didn't. 

I am not saying that people shouldn't be allowed to have guns, I am saying that there should be an intensive process to make sure that people who shouldn't have them can't get them.
