-Your Pov-

As you wake up, pain shoots through your entire body. You cry out, and then you feel the gaze of several people around you. Rubbing the sleep from your eyes, you try your best to figure out who's with you. Gideon, Velvet, Fox and John. " Hey guys," you mutter, rubbing your head. " Where's everyone else?"

" Weiss was brought back to the Schnee family mansion," said Gideon. " Yang lost an arm in the battle with Adam. None of us know where Blake is, and then Ruby is back at home with Yang. Leliana is there with Jaune, and she's trying to help him through his depression. He's been a wreck ever since Pyhrra died."

" How long have I been out," you ask, and then they all look back and forth between each other, and share a nod.

" Three weeks," says Fox. " Atlas found you passed out, and Weiss was holding you. Your weapon had been shattered, and then they brought you to the closest hospital. Winter paid for your treatment."

Eventually, you talk with them, and then it shifts to what your plans are now that Beacon is destroyed. " Velvet is letting me stay with her for a little bit," says Gideon. " The rest of CFVY is going to be with us. You're more than welcome to stay also."

" I'm going to go to Yang," says John. " She hasn't been doing that well since she lost her arm. I'm going to make sure she's okay, and then make sure she's back to her old self. Then, I'm going to beat Adam within an inch of his life, cut off his arms and force-feed them to him."

" Damn okay," says Gideon. Then, he turns to you. " And, what are your plans from here? You're pretty much all healed, you just need a few more days so they can monitor you. When you get released, what are you going to do?"

" I need to see Weiss," you say, and they all start to nod, and say that they called it. Velvet tells them to stop teasing you, and that it's sweet. However, joking with John and Gideon is nice. It feels nice to do this again, to know your friends are mostly okay regardless of everything that's happened.

" She's in the Schnee mansion," says Velvet again, and then she hands you something. " When Winter left you in the hospital, she left a letter behind, as well as a medal from General Ironwood. Your weapon is also at Atlas right now, and they're reforging it and upgrading it for you."

Nodding, you begin to open the letter, and wonder what Winter would have to say in the letter.

-Letter Pov-

Dear (y/n),

On behalf of the Atlas military, I wanted to give you personal congratulations. You exemplified all the best qualities of a huntsman. Bravery, and the willingness to put the safety of others in front of yourself. Ironwood requested that I give you this medal, and ribbon. This is highest ribbon a cadet in the Atlas Academy can earn, for saving the life of someone while risking your own. He hopes that you will come to wear it with pride. In addition, we took the remains of your weapon with us, and are rebuilding it.

In a non-official capacity, I wanted to thank you for saving and defending Weiss. And, not just today.  You have been keeping her safe for most of her life, and that's something I will always be in your debt for. Unfortunately, I haven't always been able to be there for her, and so she had you to defend her, which is amazing. I'm truly grateful my sister always has someone looking out for her. I may not be the best at expressing how much I love her, but she is one of the most important people in my life. And, I thank you for taking care her. She speaks amazingly highly of you, and in the few times I have seen you, it's been proven to me why.

I wanted to ask you to go to the Schnee mansion. My father will probably not allow you to, but I would like for you too. A lot has happened between Weiss and father. He's probably going to be worse with her than he usually is, and she's going to be under a lot of scrutiny. And, I will be on countless deployments now that Beacon has been destroyed. My mother has been a recluse ever since things grew worse between her and father. Which means, Weiss is going to need you in her corner. She isn't the best at saying it all the time. But, she needs you to be in her corner. I hope you can manage to be there.

In time, I hope that you and my sister can continue to grow and flourish as a couple. My sister has told me she's been thinking of marrying you one day. My father may not, but I do hope that the two of you will eventually be married. He's tried multiple times to set her up with someone, and she has never been happy with any of them. I hope that the two of you can have a lifetime of happiness together.

You smile when you see this, and then John says he has to go take care of Yang. Everyone else tells him to give her their best regards to her. Once he leaves, Gideon laces his arm around Velvet, and the two of them head down to her house. Sitting up in the hospital, you call doctors in so they can give you medical clearance. Once they do, you quickly buy a pair of clothes, and then rush down for the next bullhead.

It's time to see Weiss, and pay Jacques a long visit.
