-John Pov-

Sitting in a room with Yang and Ruby, I nervously wait for their Uncle Qrow to come into the room. Yang has told me a lot about him, and I know how important he is to both Ruby and herself. I also know how much he cares about them, which is why meeting him is a big deal for me. I really want him to like me. Yang reaches over, and gives my hand a soft squeeze.

" It's going to be okay," she says. " I just want you to be yourself. Uncle Qrow is probably going to be drunk out of his mind. Just be yourself, and everything is going to turn out okay."

" Easy for you to say, you're his niece," I tell her. She gives a small laugh, before planting a kiss on my cheek. As she gives another squeeze to my hand, the door opens and Qrow walks in. He looks at me, a bit confused and somewhat skeptical.

Before he can say anything to me, he interacts with Yang and Ruby lovingly. Sitting down, he turns to me after Ruby starts loading up a video game. " John right," he asks. I nod, and he nods as well. " I'm Qrow," he says, holding out I hand. I reach out as well, fully expecting him to crush my hand. However, he gives a firm grasp before letting go.

" Tai has told me a lot about you, and so has Yang. They speak very highly about you. So, don't worry kid. I'm not going to make this difficult for you." I let out a sigh of relieve, and he chuckles. " Don't worry. I know meeting relatives is something else, which can be difficult."

" Thank you sir," I tell him, and she shakes his head. He tells me to call him ' Qrow' since it makes him feel old otherwise. Laughing, Yang smiles at me, seeing how at ease I am now. " You know, Qrow, when I got with Yang, Ruby tried to threaten me."

This makes Qrow laugh. " Really? Oum, I wish I could have seen that. I cannot imagine her doing something like that. Tell me about that kid."

-Flashback John Pov-

I was sitting in the dorm for Team RWBY. Weiss was with my team member (y/n). Blake was in the library, and Yang had a detention for sleeping in class. I was waiting for her to get back, and I was sitting with Ruby in the dorms. She kept looking from the book she was reading to me, over and over. Her fingers kept brushing over Crescent Rose. Eventually, she looked up at me.

" John. You're dating Yang," she said. I nodded at her, and then she nodded, and then took a long minute for her to keep talking. " She means a lot to me, and I would hate it if anything would happen to her."

At that, I nodded and she kept talking. " More than that, it would be a shame if something were to happen to you. Bad things. They would coincidentally happen to you if anything were to happen to Yang."

This made me laugh, but also made me smile seeing how much she cared about her sister. " Ruby, I would never do anything to hurt Yang. And besides if I did, she would kick my ass before anyone else had a chance to. She means so much to me, and I would never do anything to ruin that."

My answer made her nod. " Well, just see to it you don't. She really likes you John, and I hope that she's right to."

-Present Day John Pov-

Qrow is laughing by this point, doubled over. Ruby actually wins the round of the video game as he's so distracted. " Oh, Oum. That may be the most adorable thing ever." When he gets serious, he turns to me. " But, let me just say. Ruby was dead serious, and I know she could do some damage if she really wanted to. Me too, and Tai. Yang has a lot of people looking out for her."

I nod. " Well, I'm glad she has so many people who care so much about her. But, I want you to know that I'm one of those people Qrow. I would never do anything to hurt her." He nods, before getting up.

" I can't be with you guys for too long. It's cramping my style." He turns to his nieces. " Good seeing you guys again." Taking a long sip from his flask, he turns back to Yang, and points to me. " I like him." With that, he turns back to me. " Not that she needs it, but take care of my niece."

He staggers out, and closes the door behind him. Letting out a sigh, I smile lovingly at my girlfriend, and she returns it.

-Your Pov-

You lie in your team dorms, with your head rested on Weiss's lap. She strokes your hair, and reads to you from a book. " Hey Weiss," you interrupt and she looks down. " I love you." She smiles at you, and says she loves you too, words you never tire of hearing.

" I love you too (y/n)," she says as she continues to stroke your hair. " Thank you for meeting Winter. It means a lot that you met her, and that she approves of our relationship."

" About that. Do you think that she actually liked me? Or do you think she only let it go since you're her sister?" Weiss keeps stroking your hair, and takes some time to think about it.

" I think Winter actually really liked you. Normally, she has no problem saying if she doesn't like someone. And, I think she remembers you from when I was young, and thinks that she can trust you because of that."

Nodding, you go back to resting on her lap. Moments pass in silence, and then her scroll rings. She looks at it, and sighs. " My father is calling me from the communications tower. He wants to talk with me. Can you come with me? Talking with him makes me nervous."

You stand up. " Oh yeah. I'll help you talk with him. In fact, I got a few things to say to him myself."
