Part 12
-Ozpin Pov-
Glynda and I go over the list of completed teams. She gives several questions regarding my choice in team composition, and also who the leaders are. Like always, I tell her just to trust me, and give the teams a chance to handle themselves. " Fine," she says. " However, what are we to do regarding the team with (y/n) and John? We have no transfer students coming in for some time."
Giving a small smile, I sip delicately from my coffee. " Yes. Well, there is someone I wanted to have a conversation with. I think she would be perfect for Beacon academy, and for being the third member of that team."
She looks at me confused, and I head out into the night. Reading the files I have on my scroll, I find the chapel I was looking for. Making my way in, several sisters come up to me, asking if I am in need of assistance, or if I would like to no more of their religion. " No, but thank you. I am looking for someone in particular. May I see Miss Lune?"
They look at me with concern in their eyes, until one of them pushes their way through the crowd. Judging by her orange hair and blue eyes, I can tell this is the young woman I was looking for based on her black boots, and her dress. Most images of her have her clothing varying very slightly if at all. The small cross that dangles from her neck confirm it for me, there is no doubt in my mind that this is the girl I was looking for. " Miss Lune. Or, would you mind if I called you Leliana?" She looks at me cautiously.
" Professor Ozpin," she says surprised. " I'm surprised you're here. Is there anything we can help you with tonight?"
" I've heard many rumors about you," I tell her. " Despite all of those of you being an assassin, without proof I will simply take you at your word regarding it. I also heard many rumors of you being a talented singer. Is this the truth?"
Another sister comes over to me. " Yes. Sister Lune has a gorgeous voice. Oum has truly blessed her with the voice of an angel," she informs me. Nodding, I turn to Leliana, who affirms the statement.
" Well, Leliana. I know you have a very unique set of skills. Between your voice, and what your Semblance is rumored to be, your singing alone is something else. And I have seen footage of your skills with a bow. And, should there be any truth to you being an assassin, then you should have a tremendous amount of skill."
Leliana opens her mouth to respond, and I hold up my hands again. " True or not, you have an amazing level of skill. Would you like to put that skill to use as a huntress in training at Beacon Academy?"
The sisters protest, and argue that Leliana has found her place here. " I know your life has been filled with tragedy. Tragedies that have brought you here. Along the way, you have made mistakes. However, everyone has at one point or another. I firmly believe that Beacon can help you realize your full potential."
I see her think about it for a long time. Eventually, she sighs, and turns to the sisters. " Thank you for everything. But, I can't sit in one place forever. If I want to move forward, then this is the right move for me."
They nod, and tell her to be safe, and that Oum wishes her well. I walk with her to the Bullhead, and she steps on. " I am glad you have accepted coming with me. I have a team on Beacon that I am working on completing. I will place you on that team."
She gives a nod of confirmation, before grabbing a seat. Eventually, the Bullhead lands. " Wait here," I tell her. " There is someone else I need to talk with." With that, the doors open and I walk off. Going into the tavern, I quickly find the individual I am looking for.
Gideon Chorus. When I see him, I know right away this is indeed who I am looking for. Even seated, he towers over some of the people in the bar. He sips from his drink, and I look him up and down. A double barrel shotgun rests on his back, behind a red braid, only broken with two black stripes. As he surveys the room, I notice the scar peeking out from his spine in the areas his vest doesn't conceal completely. Making my way over to him, I step over his fox tail. Looking at his vest, I see the blue badge of the White Fang.
" Mr. Chorus," I say, pulling a seat. " Pleasure to meet you. I'm here to talk with you regarding the potential of you coming to Beacon. I have an incomplete team that I may be able to put you on." He looks at me confused.
" Really? Have you seen this White Fang badge? I don't know how often you've stepped outside man, but the faunas aren't exactly welcome in most places." He looks at me with a mix of emotions. Confusion, anger, but only one I can use. Hope.
" Yes, that is the unfortunate reality of this world," I admit. " People fear what they don't understand, and the faunas sadly fall under that category. Mr. Chorus, let me be frank. I know a good deal about you. Your work defending faunas from the White Fang is spectacular. But, if you came to Beacon, your ability to do that would only get stronger."
He hesitates for a minute, before standing up. As he offers me his hand, I accept and take him to the Bullhead. I introduce him to Leliana. The two of them make small talk before the Bullhead flies back to Beacon. With the two of them in tow, I walk down to the dorm room of (y/n) and John.
-Your Pov-
Sitting with John, you both laugh at one of the jokes he makes. When the two of you recover, there's a knock on the door. The two of you shrug before going to answer it. On the other side is Ozpin with a young man and a young woman. " (y/n). John. Please welcome your new team members, Leliana and Gideon."
He closes the door, and you smile at your new team mates. " Alright. Welcome. John and I were just getting to know each other. Come in and join us."
( big shoutout to @TYBG48 for letting me use Leliana and to @ValiantPhantom for letting me use Gideon. again, feel free to let me know if I present them wrong. Also, shoutout to @Primeval64 for suggesting I title my stories, and using covers.)
