Part 1
" Look at the Schnee girl," called one of the bullies on the playground. While they were always careful not to hurt her, due to who her father was, they could taunt and tease her all day. No one paid much attention to the children's antics, and even if they did, there was no prove. " Sitting by herself, thinking she's better than us."
This almost brings the poor girl to tears. All she wants to do is fit in and be friends with all of them. Poor Weiss had tried in every way she knew how to make friends, but every time she came close, they left her. " Stupid family bought out my father," one of the kids quips. " She probably got a new dress or something from it. Seriously, why the hell does she always wear dresses?"
Doing her best to ignore them, Weiss tries to read her book. However, when a faunas comes over to her, she's scared out of her mind. Even at her young age, the girl knew how much the White Fang and faunas hated her family. She had lost count of all the times that some military officer was at the mansion to discuss the vanishing of family members, or staff members. The faunas kids at the school liked to bully her, knowing this fear. Even if Weiss knew they were innocent, she couldn't help but feel that rush of fear.
" Look at her," says the wolf faunas, his tail flapping tauntingly. " Acting all high and mighty, but trembling at the sight of a tail. A racist, but not out of prejudice. Just out of her fear. She's so pathetic."
Weiss sits on the verge of tears. " Hey, leave her alone. She didn't do anything to you guys," a new voice says. She turns to see a boy with ( hair color hair), and ( eye color eyes.) For his age, he's tall and also as in shape as an elementary school student can be. Weiss has seen him around, and thinks to herself that she has class with him. He's the student that never seems to get what's going on, and is always getting in trouble.
The bullies turn to see him. " Stay out of this (y/n)," they warn him. " We're just having a bit of fun and teasing her. Besides, she's a Schnee. I bet her dad is going to buy her a new scroll the second he knows about any of this. What does she possibly have to be sad about?"
(y/n) shoots a glare at them. " Just leave her alone. No one should ever be bullied for who they are. She can't help that she's a Schnee anymore that you can help being a faunas. It'd be a little hypocritical for you to ask for equality, and then use it to bully someone else."
The three of them start walking over to him. (y/n) shows no signs of backing down, and simply stands still. Weiss looks up at him, and can't help but feel...grateful. Oh sure, people have stood up for her before. But those were people who were paid thousands of dollars to do it. No one had ever stood for her out of the goodness of their heart before.
One of the kids throws a punch, and then (y/n) ducks under it. With all of his weight, he throws a headbutt, which catches the kid just above the nose. Blood erupts from it, and he falls to the ground, crying. The other two start circling him, and (y/n) just stands still. When one of them throws a punch, (y/n) sprawls, and then does a take-down. The punk hits the ground, and his head bounces. He starts crying, and (y/n) stands up and turns to the last one.
That one gives a smirk, and instead of fighting, calls for a teacher. One comes over, and asks what happened. Weiss is still too stunned from everything to say or do anything, so she watches in stunned silence as the bully makes up some elaborate story about how (y/n) attacked them out of nowhere. The teacher just sighs, and starts to literally drag (y/n) away, buying into it just because of how often (y/n) has been in trouble before.
Later that day, Weiss finds the same teacher that dragged away (y/n), and asks what happened. " Oh, he has a detention. He's always picking fights, and never seems to learn anything no matter how hard we try."
Weiss's eyes widen. " He didn't do anything wrong this time," she protests. " All he did was try his best to stand up for me."
The teacher removes her glasses, and runs her hands through her air. " Well, even so. He still has to face the consequences of his actions. Hitting things until they fall over isn't the solution to every problem in the world. It's about time he learned that."
For the next hour and a half, she pleads with the teacher to get (y/n) out of detention. However, she refuses to relent. Eventually, detention ends, and she sees the young man sling his backpack over his shoulder, and start walking. Weiss breaks off from her conversation to go and talk with the boy.
" Thank you for standing up for me, and confronting those bullies on my behalf," she says, somewhat stiffly, but from the bottom of her heart. " I appreciate it. My name is Weiss Schnee. And you're (y/n) right?"
Somewhat cautiously, he nods. " Uh yeah. (y/n) (l/n). I really need to get home, but I'll see you around. And hey, if those guys mess with you again, just let me know." He turns to leave, but Weiss calls out to him, and he turns around.
" W-why did you do that? You've already got so many detentions, and you got another one for me today. And...no one has ever done that for me." (y/n) looks at her for a second, and then he gives a small smirk and shrug.
" I've been raised on the idea of fighting for those who can't fight for themselves," he admits. " And, seeing them mess with you really pissed me off." Her eyes widen at his earnesty, and she gives him a short hug.
" Do you want to be my friend," she asks, somewhat shyly. He nods, and can't help but break out into a smile. " I've never had a friend before, so it looks like you'll be my first one," she says. And little did either of them know it, but he would go onto be the best friend Weiss ever had.
