Chapter Six
The two of them broke from the kiss, mesmerized by the amount of the neverending passion that continued to rile inside them.
Callista was panting heavily, eyes dilated and half-lidded, lips swollen.
David wanted to groan out loud on how much of an alluring vixen she absolutely appears before his eyes. Her ivory skin was glowing, her black inky hair framing her diamond visage, flowing behind her all the while cascading her statuesque physique. Her delicate hands maundering his scalp, gripping softly on his short, brown locks.
"David." She breathed, kissing the tip of his nose.
"Yes, love?" He asks, dazed and still elated.
Callista's bottom lip was between her teeth, looking down and blushing like mad. It took a huge amount of self-control to not take those lips again for a bruising kiss, David could go on hours and hours and still be on cloud nine.
"You'll catch a cold." She murmurs, glancing beneath her long lashes, her doe eyes showing innocence.
David's heart melted and he beamed. Holding her hips, he rubbed comforting circles on her stomach.
"I don't mind, love. As long as I'm with you." He says after giving a quick peck on her chin which she responded with a giggle.
She yawned after a moment and thunk her head on David's chest, nestling on the crook of his neck. She inhaled his musky scent, her senses instantly relaxing.
"Sleepy?" David asked, his chest rumbling.
"Mmmyeah." She whispered, closing her eyes.
"Stay with me?" She pleaded against his neck, hot air fanning David's ear.
Goosebumps ran to his skin and he nodded in response. Removing his shoes, he tucked her in the covers and lay down beside her.
"I could do this all day." Callista murmured once they were settled.
David's hands were enveloping her, legs entwined, chin on her head. Her head against his chest, hiding the wide grin on her face. He rubbed her back in an up-and-down pattern all the time while kissing her temple.
"Me, too." He murmured.
After a moment, it was a complete, content silence. Callista was trying hard not to drift off to sleep for she couldn't wrap it around her head that he was here, that he told her he love her, and that it actually happened.
It was all surreal, she was worried it could be gone the moment she would open her eyes.
"David, don't h-hurt me again. I don't think I can handle it." She whispers, pain evident in her voice, her grip on his shirt grew tight.
David pulled a good amount of distance to cupped her face gently, holding her brimming eyes. He pursed his lips and dived in to give her a kiss, one filled with passion and burning feelings that words fail to describe.
"I won't." He says, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.
"B-but..."
"Shh, we'll talk when you feel better. For now, rest."
Callista found herself agreeing and sighed once more, nestling in David's arms.
Seconds turned to minutes and minutes turned to hours, David had been gazing on the ceiling as Callista snored lightly, her breathing relax. He had been thinking, estimating his decisions.
He had done it, he told her he love and in return, she admitted he still love him. His heart was bursting, how lucky could he get? Callista could have any man she wanted with just a snap of her fingers, but she chose to stay madly in love with a bloke like him.
"I'll make you happy." David promised.
The next morning, Callista's eyes fluttered open and a yawn escaped her lips. She suddenly felt cold from the lost of another presence the moment she turned on the other side of the bed.
She found a small note with a cup of warm milk on her nightstand. Brows furrowing, she reached for it and read the folded note.
Good morning, sleepyhead. I'm probably gone the time you're reading this. Got your warm milk, just the way you like it. Be sure to drink lots of it. I also prepared your breakfast downstairs. Hurry though before Cleo finishes her treat and claim it.
I love you.
P.S. If you're feeling better, I'll be picking you up at seven later this evening. Wear something cute.

A smile broke through her face as she placed the paper on her chest. She felt better, happier.
Last night actually happened. He kissed me. He told me he love me. Out of instinct, Callista traced her lips with her fingers and felt the phantom lips of David hovering over hers.
She buried her face on her pillow, squealing on the top of her lungs, the noise muffled. It took a good amount of seconds to compose herself and got out of bed, swinging her legs and humming a tone as she brushed her hair and got ready for the day.

Alesha and Amanda glanced at each other, a quizzical expression on their faces, before turning to the ravenhead.
"You're awfully in a good mood today." Alesha pointed out, observing Callista's unusual behavior.
Her two best friends decided to pay her a visit after the huge predicament last night. After a bountiful of curses and scolding, they have all calmed down. Save for Callista who have been very, very cheerful for the past thirty minutes.
The said woman nearly skipped her way towards them, setting out a dish of lasagna and some utensils.
"That's because I am, ladies."
Amanda took a spoonful of the food and nearly choked it out. Too salty. She pushed the plate away as Alesha poked at her own plate, intently ensuring if the food was going to move or not.
"Does it have to do with David coming over?"
Callista wavered.
Alesha gasped. "It does, doesn't it?"
She rubbed her wrists together, letting out a shaky laugh.
"Well, last night, we kinda...did it." She trailed off.
"What?!" Both of the girls shrieked. That was the last thing they expected coming from her, Callista valued her virginity more than anything.
"Y-you're not a virgin anymore?"
"And David was the one who took it?" Amanda finished as both of them leaned towards the blushing young woman.
"How? Why?"
"What kind of question is that- can you, girls, let me finish?"
"Did you have protection?"
"What? No! I didn't mean did did it. I meant, we kiss." Callista rambled rapidly, scowling at them for even deducing she slept with David.
At least, not yet.
That made both of the older woman shut up. They blinked once, then twice before the words Callista uttered registered in their heads.
"Oh, my god! Did the two of you confess?" Alesha squealed and went towards her, giving her a tight hug. "I'm so happy for the both of you!"
Callista chortled, still abashed. "Yes, he was the first to tell me he love me. Then, we kissed. We're going on a date later this evening."
Amanda clapped her hands, face beaming. "Oh, darling. You must be really ecstatic. We are. It's been a long time since I saw you this genuinely happy."
Callie sat down on the stool and pursed her lips. Face unsure.
"What's wrong, love?" Alesha asked. "Why aren't you celebrating?"
She looked down at her fingers, finding it more interesting. "I'm having doubts. What if it's just a temporary thing? I don't want that. I really, really love David. It's just...what if he realizes I'm not the one for him? What if he just feels sorry because to him, it feels like he owes me? I was the one who liked him first, pursued him, and then this happens?"
She exhaled shakily, anxiety growing. "Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful. But something at the back of my mind is still very cloudy."
"Callista, listen very carefully." Amanda stated. "We have watched how both of your feelings have been eating you inside out for the last years. David was in denial but he saw past it and made a move. You still love him and had never given up, and last night was a very special moment in your lives."
Callista looked up, teary-eyed.
"Don't overthink. We doubt he'll give up on you, sweetie. You never saw how devastated he was when you left. He was heartbroken, he longed for you no matter how much he tells us otherwise. The both of you. Now, this chance was given to you and you're just going to let it slip because of some bloody negative voice inside your head? Fuck that."
Alesha hummed a response. "Amanda's right. You and David deserve this, just make the most out of it and don't worry too much."
Callista nodded and wiped a stray tear. She went to their side and hugged them both which they returned tightly.
"Thank you. Really. What am I supposed to do without you?"
"We know what that means. You'll be a mess." Alesha winked.
They broke apart and laughed.
"You're right. Now is what really matters. Nothing else." She finalized before feeling encourage and confident.
"That's our girl!" They hollered.
"You did say that David's going to pick you up, did you plan on anything to wear this evening?"
Callista shook her head. "No, not yet. Why?"
Amanda and Alesha exchanged knowing glancing, eyes gleaming.
"We got you covered. David will never know what's coming."
•••
David arrived at Callista's front porch at exactly five minutes before seven. He was pacing back and forth, a wild bouquet of white flowers in his hand and a box with a diamond encrusted pendant inside his side pocket.
He made sure tonight was going to be perfect. David had already planned it out their first date. The only thing that was making it a bad start was his nerves.
He was wearing a white tuxedo, beard shaved, and hair slicked back. He wore the usual body spray that Callista seem to be fond of. The black bracelet that Callista gave, he wore with pride, was on his left wrist making its presence known to the outside world.
"Calm down." He encouraged, whispering profusely. "Just do great."
With a deep intake of breath, David composed himself before pressing the doorbell. Stepping a foot back, he made his position and smiled as the door open.
"Why, hello, David. So nice to see you."
David's smile dropped, his eyebrows shot up in question.
"Amanda, a pleasant evening. What are you doing here?"
Amanda held out the door wider for David to come in and he did, the bouquet behind him once more. But it was futile since Amanda had given him a knowing smirk and he tried to ignore his blush with a cough.
"Just helping a dear friend out. You look dashing by the way. The question is, what are you doing?"
Heat traveled to his ears and he rolled his eyes as he followed her towards the living room.
"Nothing that concerns you."
Amanda turned to him as they waited at the front steps of the staircase. "Don't hide it, Dave. Callie already told us."
He was about to argue but shut his lips. Simon already knew, too. It was understandable.
"What's there more to say?" He asks, sighing. "I just want to do something special for her. Just the two of us."
Amanda smiled and patted his back. "I know you'll do great. Just don't mess this up like last time."
"I am confident I won't. I really love her. I won't let go of her anytime soon." He answered instantly, eyes determined.
"That's the answer I've been looking for. Before you see her, just be sure to keep your mouth closed."
David's eyes squint in confusion. "Why?"
She winked. "You'll see."
Right it time, Alesha came down the stares, giddily grinning like a mad woman.
"Oh, hey, Dave. Callista will arrive shortly. She's just a bit shy."
"I heard that!" Callista's melodious voice came from upstairs. "Gosh, darn it. This is bloody embarrassing."
"Come down!" Alesha called.
"Alright, alright. Geez."
David's posture straightened. He had the confidence and the eagerness exuding from him.
But what came next, he faltered. His heart was in his throat as Callista appeared, wearing a satin, high side split, black dress, showcasing her long, slender legs be adorned with black heels. Her hair hair was coiled in bouncing dark curls, her smoky eyes making her brown-green eyes pop, and her luscious red lips inviting.
She was like a goddess coming down from the heavens, somehow offering salvation. David felt his heart was going to burst from his chest, his mind running blank. His throat ran dry as the words he rehearsed earlier flew out the window.
Callista tried not to jump at him and kiss him like mad. He looked so ravishing it was enough to make her womanhood shake.
To a stranger's eye, it was only a good amount of seconds before Callista was in front David. To him, it felt like the longest and the first time. He was sure the three of them could hear his erratic heartbeat.
"Good evening, Davy." Callista greeted warmly, smiling shyly.
I'm done for.
Amanda and Alesha were snickering, fascinated how adorable yet amazing the two of them looked at the moment.
"F-flowers. Here, they're roses. Uhm, I don't know if you like them or maybe hate them." He stuttered as he held the roses to Callie's face.
"You shouldn't have. These are beautiful." Callie gasped as she took the bouquet in her hands, her heart soaring.
"Look, as much as we enjoy watching you two look each other like you're gonna eat one another, best be on your way." Alesha interrupted as they pushed them out of the house as Amanda took the roses in Callista's hands.
"We'll take care of the house. You don't have to worry about a thing."
"But-"
"No buts."
The door was slam shut in their faces, mouth open.
"Well, that was odd." Callista mumbled, shaking her head.
David nodded and turned to her, still amazed how wonderful and lovely she looked. He offered his hand to her and gave her his signature smile.
"Shall we, love?"
Callista blushed from the endearment but returned his smile and snaked her arms around his arm.
"We shall."
