Chapter 10: Vibrant, Violent Olive Vines Grow

(Three more chapters after this! I am really happy you enjoyed this story, especially since we have canon designs for North Ireland, Wales, Ireland, and Scotland. I know some fans didn't like Scotland's design, but I love it, honestly. I also like that cast I picked was fine with everyone. The main characters (I count Seychelles in this) will get an appearance or reference of sorts. Enjoy!)

Sean sighed as he was sitting between the unconscious mages with his arms crossed and slowly falling asleep. He was exhausted from using his element to heal the mages and running the kingdom without his brothers. He sure hoped they were having a better time than he was! He heard some muffled yelling and groaned to leave the medicine room with a hand running through his red hair locks.

"What is going on?" he asked as he noticed how frantic the servants and maids were behaving, "Hey, what's going on?"

He approached one who nervously twiddled their hands before hearing a few others screaming when a massive vine grew and lunged towards them! He held his hand in front of himself to try and control the incoming vine only to see that the vines did not react!

"Everyone behind me!" Sean ordered as he drew his sword and coated the blade in a green light.

Taking a deep breath, the prince swung the blade to cut the vine in half with the green light following him. He looked over his shoulder to see the light covering it before it receded into the hole it grew from. Sean approached the hole with perplexed expression. He had never heard nor seen the grass element used in such a manner before. Who could've done this?

"Your majesty!" a knight yelled as it bowed before the prince, "These vines are growing all over the kingdom! It is pulling people away and making its way towards us! What will you have us do?!"

Startled by this, Sean did scream until he shook his head. He had no time to worry and panic now. The people need him, and he is determined to make sure they're safe.

"Get out of the castle and help the people" Sean ordered seriously as he nodded to the servants, "Do not worry about me. I'll grab my little brother's friends before heading out to help our people. Everyone else will evacuate. Get out of Spade. Head to either Deck, Diamond, or Hearts. I'll send word out to my brothers. They're in Diamond right now. They should be able to get some help. Now, go! Get out of here!"

The knights bowed and carried out his orders with the servants and maids fleeing from the palace. Satisfied with that, Sean went to the medicine room to grab Vlad and Lukas. Both were still unconscious, but that didn't matter. Right now, they had to escape.

"Come on, come on!" Sean urged as he shook both mages, "Wake up already! We need to get out of here!"

He groaned when he realized they would not wake and heard the stones breaking. The second oldest prince gasped as he turned around to see the vines breaking into the medicine room! He let out a scream and cringed at the approaching vine. Suddenly, he felt something warm fly in front of his face and burn the vines to ashes! Sean calmed himself as best as he could with his panting breath before turning to his sides to see the Vlad sitting up with his hand out.

"Are you ok? What is happening?" Lukas asked as he groaned and sat up before casting ice towards the broken walls to give them some protection and time.

Sean held a ridiculous smile of relief to the two mages as he ruffled their hairs and laughed.

"It is a long story, but we need to get out of here. I think our only option is through that window too. We can exchange stories once we are outside" Sean informed them before turning to see and hear more vines approaching, "Fast too!"

Vlad jumped out of bed first with an orb of fire in his hands. He waved his hands to melt the windows as Lukas stood at his side to blow a cold breeze to create a slide made of ice! Sean pushed both mages out first before jumping himself! Sean let out a scream while Vlad cheered. Only Lukas remained quiet as they slid out of the palace and into the gardens.

"Are you two alright?" Sean asked as he fell into a bush and shook his head to recover.

Vlad and Lukas landed in the bushes as well and turned to the second oldest prince with comforting and reassuring expressions to him. Sean breathed in relief before realizing they would want an update on their situation. The prince informed them of what happened to Arthur and Francis before explaining the vines.

"The vines are new. I don't know who is doing this, but they must have complete dominance over the elemental of nature" Sean concluded with concern before sighing, "Even though I have that element, the vines are not responding to me. I don't know what this is"

The mages were concerned by the news as well, but both knew who the culprit was.

"It must be Antonio. The ring on his finger is controlling him" Lukas stated with a shake of his head, "I don't know how long he has for, but we need to get that ring off"

Sean jumped when he heard this, but he recognized this as well. A ring that could amplify the elemental power of a person to dangerous levels was discussed in the books he and his brothers studied. Lukas was correct in that they had to remove the ring from Antonio.

"Fast too! I won't let that ring get the drop on me again! Not if I can help it!" Vlad vowed with fire burning from his hand.

Before Sean could give an order, they heard vines breaking, people screaming, and knights shouting. They looked over the bushes to see the chaos happening in the kingdom! Sean clutched his hands at his sides in frustration. He wouldn't let the people get hurt if he could help it!

"Alright!" Sean yelled as he made sure his sword was at his side with the mages at his side, "You have new orders! Help the people and destroy those vines! It doesn't matter what you do. Please get the people to safety by taking them to the boarders!"

Vlad nodded his head with Lukas stepping to ask, "And what will you do?"

Sean drew the sword and nodded his head, "Yeah, I am not sitting here and doing nothing. I already sent word to my brothers. They're coming to help. So, I am not going to sit around and do nothing! I need to help the people, and that's what I plan to do!"

He charged towards a few kids and swung his blade in a horizontal arch to cut the vine in half before it could claim them. He threw the sword towards another vine before turning to the kids.

"Are you ok? Not hurt?" Sean asked as he kneeled before the kids with a grin who nodded at him, "Wonderful! Now, go on! Get out of here! I'll make sure these vines don't hurt you!"

He turned around to summon vines himself to grab his sword before covering the blade in poison. He held the blade close before running forward to strike another vine to see it died in a brown color.

"Ok, it is alive, but it can be killed" Sean concluded before running on ahead to help his people get away from the vines.

Vlad and Lukas were reluctant to leave the prince alone, but they knew he would be fine on his own.

"Can you handle this on your own, or do you want me there?" Lukas asked as he turned his attention to the boarder to the Kingdom of Deck.

Vlad only snickered before fire was burning in his hands, "Ha! As if I need you and Arthur to cover me! I can handle this on my own! I am more worried about you if anything! So, are we ready?!"

He turned around to hold his blazing hand out to his best friend. Lukas only grinned before covering his hand in ice. They slammed their hands together to give it a shake with steam evaporating. They let each other go before running off in different directions.

Arthur, Francis, Arthur's brothers, and their friends arrived at the border between Diamond and Spade to find chaos as well! The people were running towards the border with the knights helping them.

"This is chaos" Dylan spoke in fear as he helped one person who fell and take them to the border.

Vines grew rapidly as João's heart dropped at the sight with Laura gasping at the sight. Those were the vines that Antonio would grow in their farm!

"Here they come!" Duncan yelled as they saw the vines approaching them!

Laura gripped her hands tightly against her dress as she ran forward and approached the border with a serious expression.

"João! With me!" she ordered as her duke followed her.

She placed her hands into the ground and felt the soft and cold dirt. Staring at the incoming vines with her green eyes glowing a soft light, a wall of earth soon rose to cover the entire border with gaps for the knights and fleeing Spade citizens to enter!

"Fantastic job, Princess Laura!" Clarisse commented in awe as she clapped her hands only for the vines to change their focus on the princess!

João was ready for the vines as he drew his sword and let the wind gather around the blade. Lunging forward, the duke swung the blade in a horizontal arch to create a long, powerful slice of wind to cut the incoming vines into pieces. The vines fell apart and landed on a thud before them with João holding the blade in front of himself and the princess with everyone else impressed by their actions.

"We've got nothing to worry about here then" Duncan stated before holding his hand to conjure his broadsword from his blue flames and marching forward with some of the knights bowing to him, "Listen hear you lot! I know you're tired and afraid! I am as well! However, I am going back there with my brothers and making this vow to you! We are going to crush those vines and stop this from bringing more harm to anyone! Do you hear me?! We're saving our home together!"

With that speech declared, Duncan raised his broadsword with the knights letting out a cheer themselves and raising their respective weapons to him. Duncan grinned before charging on ahead with the knights.

"Remember! Save the people and cut down those damned vines!" Duncan ordered as he pointed his broadsword ahead.

The knights ran right pass him with their weapons to cut the incoming vines down and saving the people. Dylan, Liam, and Arthur were right behind their brother and holding warm and relieved expressions as well as one filled with pride. Their oldest brother was taking command, leading their knights, and doing everything to ensure of their safety.

The vines refocused on the knights who picked themselves and fought back with their weapons and elements before a large one rose from the ground and took aim at a smirking Duncan.

"You want a piece of me? Bring it on!" Duncan declared with full confidence in his voice as he held the broadsword before himself with blue flame slowly burning from it.

The vine lunged at the oldest prince who leaned away and used the blunt of the broadsword to protect himself and let the blue flames slowly cover the vine. The vine seemed aware of the fires surrounding it and dove into the ground to remove it.

"Cheeky little thing, aren't you?" Duncan commented as he held the blade and waited with the smirk still present on his features.

He waited with the ground slowly shaking around himself. Realizing what the vine's intentions, Duncan covered the blade in blue flames completely before taking a strong stance with holding the blade in the center. Letting out a yell, Duncan tossed the blade upward to let it spin before jumping to grab the handle to raise it above his head. Gathering enough of his blue fire to cover the blade completely, the prince hurled himself forward to break the ground beneath him to uproot the vine and cover it in blue flames!

"Found ya!" Duncan hollered before landing on a piece of the falling broken earth, "And with you in my sight! Prepare to meet your end!"

He jumped from another one to climb with the broadsword burning blue flames that be dragged along the earth. Letting out a yell and spinning the blade, Duncan jumped and swung the burning broadsword downward to cut the vine in half along the body!

The knights let out a cheer with the people even shouting their praises as Duncan landed on his feet and slammed the burning blade into the earth. He shook his head before stretching and rushing to help a few scared children who hid themselves in a broken shack.

"Come on, lads. That vine won't hurt you. Get going until you see the Princess of Diamonds. She's got wonderful waffles and chocolates for you" Duncan reassured them as he ruffled their heads and letting them off.

Duncan picked up the broadsword and marched forward. If the vines could focus on him and the knights, then the rest could get the people out of their kingdom until they reach Antonio. He glanced around and hoped that his brothers and their friends could be quick enough to do that.

"Aiyah! Things have gotten out of hand now!" Yao exclaimed as he was running to the border of Hearts and leaving the group, "I knew something was about to happen, but I was hoping for a wedding"

He shrugged until he heard cries of help from a breaking building. Clasping his hands, the Prince of Hearts summoned his dragon and ran towards it. The dragon remained at his side with Yao kicking the door down and rushing to the second floor to find a mother holding her kids. Despite their home crumbling and the situation he was in, Yao kneeled before them with a warm smile.

"Nothing to worry about, aru" he spoke in a soft manner, "Everything will be ok. Your princes are out there, fighting with everything they have to ensure your kingdom will be saved. Now, let's smile and cheer, because you will be safe"

The building gave another violent shake as Yao helped the mother stand and take one of her children in his arms. He nodded to the dragon who flew out the window with Yao grabbing the mother's hand and running towards the window as well! They jumped with the mother screaming and children shouting only to stop once they landed safely on top of the dragon that grew ten times in size!

"Haha! It must be nice to be in your form again, right, long?" Yao asked in a knowing tone as the dragon flew with the serpent body before lowering himself to the ground, "I know, I know! After this, I may have to cut my contract with Francis sooner than later! We should return home and be there for Rajesh, shouldn't we?"

He helped the mother and her kids down from the dragon before their home was completely destroyed by the raging vines. The dragon hovered above his master who only stared at the vines. Much like Duncan had surmised, the vines were only destroying things in their way and going after those who would be a threat. Realizing this, Yao knew he could bait the vines and crush it.

"My lady head to the border of Hearts. I will follow shortly" Yao answered as he took steps forward with the dragon following his steps, "For today, I announce my return as the Crown Prince of Hearts Yao Wang!"

The dragon let out a powerful roar as five vines appeared around them. Yao snickered before running after the mother and her kids with the dragon flying over him to give him cover. He let out a laugh before running to border to see Rajesh standing there with a disappointed expression and his arms crossed over his chest.

"Ni hao, Rajesh!" Yao greeted as he ran forward with the dragon over his head, "I'm back and will be back!"

"Oh? Is that so?" Rajesh asked as he noticed the coming vines with a few people of Spades following his prince, "I suppose I've waited this long"

Clasping his hands in a form of prayer, Rajesh lowered his head before taking his right foot back and letting the earth move underneath him. He raised his right hand up to create a wall for one vine to strike before raising the left hand to make another wall appear to stop the second vine. Then, the advisor crushed his hands to have the earth rise and pull the remaining three into the ground.

"Wow! I see you haven't gotten sloppy!" Yao commented before taking a bow to the advisor with the mother and her kids crossing the border, "Can you handle everything here? Also, I hope you heard my declaration"

"Yes, for patient is the virtue that can lead to the goals one desires" Rajesh answered with a snicker of himself, "As for the border, yes. It shall be safe under my watch. I am sure you don't want to stand around and do nothing, my prince"

Raising his hand and snapping his finger, the wall of earth appeared and protected the Kingdom of Hearts from the vines with Yao satisfied. Yao and Rajesh gave each other a bow before Yao twirled and ran forward with the dragon flying right at his side. Vines grew in Yao's path, but he only smirked before waving his hand across to have his dragon charge through one vine to burn to ashes.

"Xièxiè!" Yao cheered his dragon before seeing a vine lunging towards him.

Smirking and cartwheeling forward, Yao jumped by using his hands to then run along the back of the vine! Letting out a laugh, the prince coated his hands and feet in flames to burn the vine before reaching the end. Letting the fire cover his hands, he pressed his hands against it burn it to ashes! Yao ran and jumped off the vine with his dragon flying at his back to knock the incoming vine away!

"How rude! You should respect your opponent and strike in a manner of honor!" Yao remarked before seeing another vine coming towards him.

He took a stance before waving his hands to the right to have the dragon strike the vine away before waving his hands to the left to make the dragon strike the other vine. Yao stood his ground before waving his hands in a circular motion to have his dragon fly around him to pull the vines close to them.

"All things come to an end" Yao said in a wise tone as he held his hands in front of him, "For that is the nature of life, so you shall meet your timely conclusion!"

He held his hands up with his hands clutched to make the dragon burst into flames and burn the vines in the fiery vortex. Yao held his head upward to feel the warmth and life his fires gave then covering the land to warm the ground and burn the vines around him. The people felt relief due to his fires and soon left the area.

"There we go! That should be good" Yao said in a relief before seeing another vine grow and lung towards him with him taking a bow.

He closed his eyes and didn't bother to move as Vlad jumped over the prince with a sphere of fire above him! The Clover mage threw the sphere of fire to burn the vines and landing before the prince.

"You knew I was coming, didn't you?" Vlad asked in a knowing tone with his hands burning with flames.

Yao held a knowing smile before turning the other way to handle the other side of the kingdom.

"Well, it is good to have you on our side, Prince Yao" Vlad commented with a snicker, "E timpul sǎ ardǎ!"

He ran forward as Yao used his fires to give warmth and comfort to the people to come and escape from his side of the kingdom. The prince left the fighting to the Clover mage who was all but delighted to fighting the vines.

"Yes, it is time to bring this to an end!" Vlad roared before waving his hands to the right to burn the vines coming towards him.

He raised his left hand upward and snapped his fingers to have three spheres of fires to strike one vine to burn it. Vlad snickered at the vine burning to ashes before noticing another one to rise in front of him.

"Do you think you'll stop me?!" Vlad snapped as he held his hand out to have a sphere of fire appear above it, "Nu! You caught me off guard once! I will not let you strike me down again!"

He tossed the sphere of fire into the air before kicking it towards the vine! The vine weakly fell to the ground as another wrapped around Vlad's waist to hold him in the air! Vlad let out a yell as the vine held him upside down for him to see the people fleeing with the knights' help.

"Well, you are utter fools" Vlad commented as he closed his eyes and let himself hang as fire began to cover his body slowly, "You should've known that when I see things going my way that only fuels my fires. I have nothing to fear. I have nothing to worry. Eu sunt focul!"

He burst into flames to burn the vines that dared to surround him! The Clover mage let out a laugh before using the flames to keep himself above the ground and see the coming vines. He threw a wave of fire to burn one vine and flew away to drag the vine away from the people. Once Vlad made sure the vine was away, he turned around and flew right at the vine. He hopped on it before gathering the fire off his body before slamming the flames onto the vine to turn it to ash!

"Take that! Oh, no!" Vlad spoke before realizing he was falling!

He let out a scream until a flash of lightning was seen and Gilbert rushed to grab Vlad before he hit the ground! Another flash appeared before the Prince of Clovers placed the Clover mage on his feet.

"Geez! I know you want to be flashy, but I don't think you want to meet your end too soon, right?" Gilbert asked as Vlad's eyes were wide to see his prince here, "Ja, ja! I know! Your awesome prince stands before you! Did you think I would leave? Please! My best friends are in trouble! They need the awesome me! Now, as your prince, I hope you won't let me down!"

Vlad held a perplexed expression before shaking his head and sighing. He was grateful they were getting all the help from their friends. He turned to gather fire to his hands again before charging to help the people and fight the vines.

Gilbert was running across the ruined kingdom and using his lightning to stun the vines while delivering the final blow with his sword. He was running and searching for people to help and his best friend.

"Where are you, Antonio?" Gilbert wondered until he heard a boy cry out, "Hey! Kid! Keep shouting!"

Using his lighting, Gilbert ran across the ground at a quick pace as he focused on the boy's cries. The Clover Prince lunged forward when he saw a young boy trapped by vines. Creating a flash to startle the vines, the prince jumped through it to grab the boy before throwing a metal chain in the cluster of vines.

"Donner!" Gilbert yelled as he clutched the boy close before a powerful bolt of lightning crashed on the vines to stun it place.

Gilbert held the boy close as he realized that wouldn't stop the vines for long. Securing the boy on his back and drawing his sword, Gilbert chuckled to then charging forward with the blade gleaming a silver light.

"We're gonna have kid! So, I hope you like tosses!" Gilbert said with a laugh as he threw the kid above the vines!

The boy screamed as Gilbert used the lightning to give him speed and swift yet powerful strikes to cut down the paralyzed vines! Gilbert then slid on his knees to catch the laughing boy. He interally sighed while holding a warm expression.

"Come on! Let's find your parents or get you out of here at least!" Gilbert reassured as he ran towards the border to the Deck Kingdom.

He held the boy close when he began to shiver and wondered about the drop in temperature. He searched for the source and found Lukas placing his hands on the ground to cover it in a sheet of ice! His ice covered the vines to freeze it place as he stood up and bowed to the Clover Prince.

"Ja, I know, I am here" Gilbert said with pride before placing the boy down at the border as a gust of icy wind picked up, "Ah, and I believe she's here too"

Holding the boy close, Gilbert chuckled when Iryna stepped on the border with her hands out. Ice fell from her hands and covered the ground to then creating a wall of ice! Gilbert was laughing in delight with Lukas taking a respectful bow to the princess.

"Ah, sorry to keep you waiting" Iryna spoke in a soft tone before kneeling to the little boy, "Are you ok? It must've been scary. I am so happy that you're here"

The boy blushed as he nodded his head at the princess who let him into her kingdom. She then turned her attention to Lukas.

"Are you Lukas Bondevik?" Iryna asked in a motherly tone to him, "I hired the Nordic Crew to help with people entering the Deck Kingdom. They were worried about you, but I reassured them that you were fine"

Lukas sighed as he rose to his feet, "I apologize for any trouble my brothers and family have caused you. They can be too affectionate and troublesome even with Berwald there it cannot have been easy for you, my princess. Allow me to make it up to you by handling these horrible vines"

Gilbert snickered as he leaned away and decided it would be best for him to run out and get people while leaving the pruning to Lukas.

"But of course, miy mah" Iryna spoke in a soft tone as she let her knights charge forward to fight the vines and help the people, "Do come back safe though. Your family will be worried if you didn't"

Lukas only stared forward with a cold winter wind blowing rapidly around him, "Min prinsesse, I will come back and triumph for I am a member of the famed Nordic Crew!"

Blowing a breeze to create a gust of wind with ice floating around it. The ice spun violently in the wind before he cast it towards the vines. The ice cut the vines into pieces while freezing the rest in ice. Lukas took slow steps forward with ice covering the ground with each step he took.

"Do you not know who you are dealing with?" Lukas asked in a disappointed tone, "Because you will perish at the rate you are going. Prepare to meet a cold, lonely death!"

Creating a sphere of ice, he cast it towards a sprouting vine to freeze it in place. Then, Lukas coated his fist in ice and punched the frozen vine into pieces. He conjured the ice in his hands to change into an axe before he took a swing to strike an incoming vine with it while the ice covered it completely!

"I am not one for physical violence, but I will gladly deliver it for those who bring harm to those I love" Lukas commented as he held his hands and feet.

He raised his right leg to stomp the ground with his feet to cover the entire ground in ice! Satisfied with the ice-covered ground, Lukas raised his hands upward to have icicles rise and strike the incoming vines! The Deck mage smirked before casting his hands forward to cast ice downward to the remaining vines! Vines grew from behind as Lukas simply looked over his shoulder in a disapproving manner.

"Again? You may have caught me off guard before, but you will not" Lukas declared with an icy glare before casting a wave of ice to cut the vines in half, "For you will never use a trick like that again on me!"

The vines fell to the ground with a thud before Lukas took steps forward to handle the rest of the vines coming his way.

"Seriously!" Erzsébet commented in a frustrated tone as she swung a frying pan to strike an incoming vine, "Where did these things come from?!"

She had woken up from the destruction of building, screams of the people, and the shouts of the knights. She rushed outside of the bakery early morning and found everyone fleeing from the massive vines growing! She helped the people flee while handling the vines on her own. She was doing well considering she was alone and trying to protect the bakery with everything she had.

Erzsébet commented in frustration, "When I get my hands on the person who did this, I will make sure they get a sound thrashing!"

She struck another incoming vine with her frying pan before charging towards another one to knock it down. She huffed and puffed before hearing a little girl crying!

"Hang on!" she shouted and ran to grab a girl who was crying, "There, there. Everything will be fine. I promise. A francba!"

She cursed when she felt the ground shake with a vine sprouting! She turned her back to it and held the little girl close as she began to cringe.

"ERZSÉBET!" Roderich's caring voice shouted as a powerful cord was strung from his violin to slice the vine into pieces, "Are you ok? Are you hurt?"

The Prince of Clovers approached the Deck lady with a concerned expression before sighing in relief to see her unharmed and with a little girl safe as well.

"Yes, I am fine, Roderich. Thank you for coming" she replied with a faint blush on her cheeks, "What are you doing here? I thought you were returning to your home"

He shook his head before resting it against hers in a soft manner, "I couldn't return for I had to come back for someone. I hope you do not mind it being me. Erzsénet, there is something I must confess to you"

She blushed as he reluctantly pulled away to face her with a warm expression. The moment was ruined when another vine grew, and Gilbert let out a yell to cut the vine downward with his sword.

He landed before them with his sword on his shoulders before grinning at them together to comment, "He's the Prince of Clovers! Oh, and so am I! Wait, that was the secret right? Oh, did you not confess to her? Wow! How lame!"

Roderich's face flushed with a frustrated expression on his gentleman's face with Erzsébet flustered as well with a small smile on her features. Gilbert only held a smirk before his brother flicked the bow to create a gust of wind to blow him away! Gilbert only laughed before letting the breeze carry him away and deeper into the fight.

The other Clover Prince composed himself and sighed to confess, "Well, that is true. My full name is Roderich Edelstein, one of the Prince of Clovers. I am his brother, unfortunately. We, along with Vash and Eirika, are looking after our youngest brother, Ludwig. I suppose I should confirm the rumor that we are looking for a romantic partner due to our father's dying request. I assure you that this had no impact on my feelings for you, Erzsébet. I have fallen for you, my lady"

He spoke so sweetly and kind to her that she didn't care to hear the rest of his speech. She threw herself close to him before pressing her lips to his! He was startled by this before gently placing his hands on her waist to return her kiss. Both held each other despite the situation and felt a serene love for each other.

"Oh, you silly man" Erzsébet whispered in a loving tone as she pulled away and rested her head against his, "I love you as well. Prince or no prince, you're the first man to ever treat me in such a respectable way despite me not behaving as a proper lady. I only hope I can do the same for you"

Running a hand gently through her brown hair, he whispered in equal love, "My dear, I fell in love with you and only you. I do not care if you have no element or royal blood. You are a remarkable young lady that I have had the pleasure of meeting. That will never change"

She giggled at him until a flash of lightning was caught in their view with Gilbert running across the field and grabbing people to carry them away to safety.

"If you're done being mushy, I would like some help over here!" Gilbert called out with a shake of his head and roll of his eyes, "Ja, ja! We are so happy for you! Can we move on now?!"

Erzsébet only glared at him with her arms firmly wrapped around Roderich's neck with him sighing.

"There's nothing to be done about him, my dear" Roderich commented, "He's always like this. Unfortunately, he does have a point. This is not the time and place for a confession. Once this is over, I will properly give you one, Erzsébet. Is that fine with you?"

"More than fine, my love" she answered before standing up and in front of him as a vine approached her, "And who said I didn't have an element? Természetesen!"

Seeing the vine approaching them, Roderich was prepared for a counter with his violin in his arms. He decided to wait to see what his lady would do. The vine rose and lunged at her, but she held her ground with her frying pan in front of her. She took the strike and withstood it! Roderich could only stare in awe until he noticed another one approaching her from behind. He played a few notes as he stepped to stand behind her. A few sharp notes struck the incoming vines, but he knew he wasn't strong enough to deliver a final blow. He was worried they were trapped.

"Ha! You do not have to fear anything at all, my love!" Erzsébet declared, "For I am the strongest earth elemental wielder there is!"

She grabbed the vine with her other hand and let out a yell as the earth rose to strike the vine in multiple places! She then dropped her frying pan to grab the pierced vine and threw it over her shoulder with all her might to crush the one Roderich's wind cut up!

"My dear!" Roderich awed with his eyes wide filled with admiration and love for her.

"I told you" she said with pride before picking up her frying pan, "I am the strongest earth elemental wielder! I can handle anything that comes my way and crush it!"

A few vines circled the couple as both stood back-to-back, ready for another round. Roderich played a wonderful melody to draw the vines towards then while wearing it down with sharp strikes from the wind.

"Be ready to jump!" Erzsébet stated as she raised her frying pan above her head.

Roderich secured his violin and bow to his side before nodding his head at her. She let out another yell before slamming the cookware against the ground to create numerous large cracks and strike the vines upward! The vines were destroyed by being uprooted and the stones rising to pierce it! However, she created a large crack underneath them! Roderich raised his hand to create a gust of wind to carry them away from the vines, but one vine grew and reached out to them! He created a gust of wind to protect themselves before falling to the ground. Erzsébet quickly grabbed and held Roderich bridal style before observing the incoming vines!

"Hey! Priss!" Gilbert shouted as he gathered lightning around himself, "Give me a boost!"

Erzsébet slammed her feet to create an upward slope as Roderich cast a powerful gust of wind around it. Gilbert had sparks bursting from his form as he ran along the earthy ramp before jumping and swinging the blade covered in lightning to strike down the vine. He landed on his feet with an exhausted expression before turning to the couple.

"Well, that went well!" he said with a chuckle as both sighed at him.

There was a loud crash and crack as they turned to see a woeful sight. Francis's bakery was destroyed in the fight. It laid in a heap of broken wooden planks and crushed belongings with some ingredients splattered about. Erzsébet gently placed Roderich on his feet and prepared to run and find anything to save only for him to stop her.

"You know, I don't think you have to worry about that anymore" Gilbert said in a quiet tone, "It'll be fine. Arthur's probably going to do something about it and ensure something. Promise. For now, we've got our job. We need to keep helping everyone and fight those vines. Ok?"

He waited for his brother who wouldn't leave Erzsébet. She only nodded her head before picking up her frying pan and following them deeper into the kingdom to fight the vines and help the people escape from the kingdom.

"I knew something would happen, but this was not what I expected at all" Clarisse commented as she drew her pistol and loaded an ice bullet into it, "Though, life is a gamble, and I enjoy playing the game in some aspects, I suppose"

She loaded her ice bullets as a few vines grew in front of her and waited. She was grateful that the vines were being patient with her, but she took careful aim of her situation. Seeing that there were two vines in front of her, she took aim between both and pulled the trigger. An ice bullet was fired and froze the ground to hold the vines in place! Both soon lunged to strike her, so she picked up her skirt and covered her boots with ice glide upon the path she created!

"Please have a better stance than this! No? Well, take a bow!" she commented with a delightful expression before taking aim again to fire another ice bullet to completely freeze one vine solid!

She swung the blunt end of the pistol to strike the frozen vine to shatter it into pieces. She held herself high before turning her attention to the second one. She loaded another bullet before taking a stance. This vine flowed through the ground as Clarisse glided across the ground again. Keeping her distance, she took aim and fired at the center of the vine before standing in front of it with ice gathering to it.

"Good riddance! It is time to bid you adieu!" Clarisse declared as she finished gathering ice to fire a single bullet through the vine.

She raised her arm to protect herself as the vine burst into pieces. She nodded her head in satisfaction before running off to another area to help others and wondering what happened to the bakery in their absence.

Liam was in awed by Clarisse's use of a magical weapon and tweaked his bullets before firing a few at the ground where a few vines were surrounding some people. Trembling in fear and rethinking his decision, the prince took a few steps backwards before running the in opposite direction at full force!

"I didn't think this through entirely!" he yelled as he ran and jumped over obstacles in his way while adjusting one of the bullets, "But I can't be afraid nor worried now! Or, I can be, but I will not let it control me! Not when everyone I know is working so hard!"

He turned a corner before standing in front of the vines and watching it closely. He narrowed his eyes and took aim as he let the water pressure in his pistol build up. With the ice melting and other barrels holding water broken, he decided to use it and waited for the right moment to pull the trigger.

As the vines were right in front of him, the prince declared, "I will use everything I have to stop you! The stronger the pressure the more force water has to the point where it can even go through steel!"

He fired the bullet and released a powerful beam of water to decapitate the vines! He was stunned by his power before loading another round and taking off in another direction with a new idea in his head. He gathered more water and fired to get the vines attentions before running in the opposite direction.

"Want some more? Then, here you go!" Liam shouted as he fired in a horizontal manner to strike the vines down!

He was getting exhausted, but he could see a rather small vine coming his wave. He took aim, but he heard something rising behind him! He gasped when he saw a larger vine burst from the ground!

"No!" Liam cringed until he heard Sean shout, "Duck, ya eejit!"

Liam covered his head with his hands and ducked with Sean letting out a yell as he jumped from a beanstalk with his blade raised and covered in poison. His older brother sliced the larger vine in half before landing behind Liam.

"Are you ok?" Sean asked as he used his other hand to ruffle Liam's hair, "Sorry about being late and worrying you lot. Well, I probably worried you, Dylan, and Arthur the most. Duncan knows I can handle myself just fine. Looks like another round. Sit back and watch how your older brother does it!"

Sean held the blade in front of himself with a few vines growing in front of him. He swung the blade to run forward with it glowing a dim green light. The vines lunged at him as Sean only swung the blade to strike the sides of the vines before jumping over a few. He slid to avoid one, but he made sure his blade stabbed the center of it. He ran in the other direction to then standing up with the blade glowing a bright green light.

"Do you think you could stop me?! I might be the second prince, but that doesn't mean I don't know how to hold my own!" Sean declared as he spun with his blade striking the ground around him until he stood with the blade above his head.

He delivered a powerful strike to the ground to have beanstalks rise and strike back the incoming wave of vines as the ones he struck fell dead! Liam was stunned until he looked at the vines that fell with a thud to see poison covered it.

"When did you knew to do that?" Liam asked in awe with Sean wiping the sweat off his head.

"I've knocked out a few more while I was waiting for you lot" he answered with a grin, "But we've got work to do. I am sure the others are doing their part as well. Are you ready?"

Sean was covered in nicks and bruises, but that didn't stop him. If anything, that only made him fight on more for his people, friends, and brothers. Liam was in awe at his brother before picking himself up and standing right next to him. A large vine grew from the ground in front of them as both refused to move.

"Let's bring it down!" Sean yelled with Liam charging forward to fire at the ground to completely wet it before pulling back to let Sean run forward.

He swung his blade to strike the ground and have beanstalks grow to snap back at the vines. Sean held his blade in front of himself for protection and to keep the beanstalks steady. He laughed at how the vines were struggling against the beanstalks until more appeared.

"Oh, no! More won't save you now!" Sean declared as he held his hand to then turn into a fist to have the beanstalks hold the vines, "Liam! Now! Take the shoot!"

He had a beanstalk grow underneath Liam to bring him above the vines and beanstalks. His little brother took aim and gathered water to his pistol and bullets. He held the pistol with his right hand as he used his left hand to steady it. Water gathered to the tip of his magic weapon before a sphere of water formed.

"Eat this, bastards!" Liam hollered before pulling the trigger to unleash a powerful stream of water to cut the vines into pieces.

"Nice one, little brother!" Sean cheered as he threw his fist up before letting his little brother down and giving his back a good, brotherly slap.

Liam only laughed nervously before both went to help the nearby people who were taking cover from their attack and the vines to get them to safety.

Dylan found himself standing in the square and had a whirlwind blowing protectively around him. All he did was carry himself from one end of the square to the other to pick up people and carry them to safety.

"Don't worry. Everything will be ok" Dylan reassured them creating gusts of wind to blow the vines away.

He made sure a wind current was blowing near him as he rushed to carry children and helping adults flee from the square. He heard a parent shouting for help as his child was being taken by the vines!

"I'm coming!" Dylan vowed as he took a deep breath and clasped his hands together.

Drawing his right hand back and using his left hand to aim, a bow of wind appeared with an arrow! He closed his left eye and took aim before keeping both eyes open to release the arrow! He then raised his left hand to create a breeze to catch the child and return him safely to his father's arms.

"Get out of here!" Dylan ordered as the parent and child fled with the third oldest prince holding an expression of relief.

He failed to notice an incoming vine grow and strike him into a broken building! He cried out in pain before crashing and groaned. He weakly picked himself up and saw the vines surrounding a group of people with the tired knights doing their best to protect the people!

"Leave them alone..." Dylan whispered in a low threatening voice as he slowly rose to his feet using the wind to unleash a tornado around himself, "LEAVE THEM ALONE!"

The people and knights were startled by the screech from their prince who waved his hand to rip the vines from the ground into the tornado with him standing in the eye of it. The third oldest prince observed the vines with a calculating expression before raising his left hand to create short, strong currents.

"I always have to think" Dylan said seriously, "That is because of my brothers. I always thought about them. They are all I have. Now, we have friends and those who care about us. Do you think I would like you take that from us?! NEVER!"

Slamming his hands downward to cease his tornado and let the vines fall with thuds and away from the people. Dylan huffed and puffed as he turned to the knights and people.

"Is anyone hurt?" he asked in a much gentler tone as most nodded their heads, "Ok, then get the people out of here. I'll make sure to find anyone else and send them your way"

A few of the knights left with a large group of their people, but some remained with their prince, refusing to leave him. Dylan thanked his knights and let them march forward to fight the vines and help their people.

As they marched forward, Dylan took a chance to catch his breath before searching for Arthur and Francis. He realized both were not present and hoped they were together and could handle whatever came their way.

"I am sure the two of you can handle this" Dylan said softly, "But please don't get hurt. Come back to us and stay together. You're stronger together, but I am sure you already know that"

He followed his knights and went to take out more vines and help the people. As for his little brother and the baker, both were making their way to the castle. Arthur had used his magic to follow the flow of elemental energy and darkness. Both realized they would have to head to the Palace of Spade if they were going to stop the possessed ring from bringing harm to the people.
