Ball
<Oreo's PoV>
Blancmange literally spent hours showering me with moral support and compliments to help get my confidence up and get me to be less anxious. But yet here I am, shaking in my black dress shoes, sitting in my throne in the throne room/ballroom, as the minutes pass, the doors opening in less than 5 minutes. Blancmange and another soldier, Chestplate, stand next to my right and left side. I turn my head nervously to the left. I see Blancmange with her usual stone cold face as she stares intensely at the doors.
"Hey..." I whisper.
"Yes?" she asks me without taking her eyes off the door. It is her job so I can't really blame her.
I glance quickly at the clock. There's only 2 minutes left.
"I'm nervous," I whisper.
She places a hand at my shoulder, her head not even moving a centimeter.
"I can't look at you right now because the doors are opening super soon, but I'll be right here for you. If things go good, I'll cheer. If thing go bad, I'll steal you some ice cream from the kitchen and we'll completely binge on that unhealthiness. Junk food helps everything get better," she tells me, her face completely emotionless as she says this. Which obviously makes it 10 times more hilarious than it should be.
I start snickering and I'm about to explode of laughter, before the doors open with a bang, completely silencing me.
The castle announcer, Scroll, stands at the door and projects a loud announcement.
"The ball to find the prince's wife-to-be hereby begins right now, December 10th, 7:30 pm. Good luck to all the unmarried ladies of the kingdom and to the prince himself!" he practically yells.
The ballroom immediately fills up with people, clothes, and the smell of many different perfumes clashing together making a sickly scent. I almost gag.
"It smells so gross," I accidentally say out loud. I immediately cover my mouth looking around to see is anybody heard me. Blancmange's eyes smile and Chestplate is biting his lip stifling a laugh. I sigh in relief. At least nobody else heard me.
I regain my composure and try not to cry from the mass perfume smell.
The first girl comes up. I already don't like her. I'm kind of going for someone like my mother. She's not very extra and she has a playful and carefree spirit. I stand up, bow, kiss her hand, and she leaves. I tune out slightly as girl after girl comes up.
DADDY!
Fine, fine, you're such a little monster sometimes.
I giggle.
Well, I was having my 17 year marriage ball, and needless to say, it was very, very boring. All the girls of the kingdom were walking up to me and curtsying and giggling and being, well I hate to say it, but they were actin' kind of dumb.
Then your mom came up. She curtseyed like everyone else. She was wearing a simple yet elegant white gown. Her eyes caught my attention first. One yellow, one red. I wanted to know what had happened to it. So, I took a mental note to dance with her later. And the look on her face drew me to her more. She had mischevious look on her face, as if she was ready to anything. I just... felt it. You know?
So I danced with her first after the first three hours was up and I was free to do whatever.
And I asked her what happened to her eye. She just answered with, "My mom. Bravest woman alive. Love her 'til the end."
And her voice. Just so captivating and beautiful. She was sixteen at the time. Praising her mother at that age is rare, and I apprected that. So we continued talking. And dancing. I refused to interact with any other girl. It was just her, her, her.
And I was right. Even as a proper and serious prince, she somehow broke me out of my shell. Something that literally nobody has accomplished before. That's when I finally realized, "I'm going to marry this woman."
I laugh hysterically.
"Oh, be quiet."
I laugh as he picks me up and twirls me around.
I internally sigh as I smile at the next girl as she leaves. What changed him? He used to be my favorite. Now he acts like he hates me.
I take a quick glance at the clock. It's been 2 and a half hours. Wow. I am starting to lose hope.
Girl after girl, minute after minute. I want to cry. Am I seriously not going to find anyone?
Then one of the last girls comes up. Holding back tears, I'm prepared to do the same thing as I've been mindlessly doing for the past hours. The girl has scarlet eyes and a green empire mini dress. The top part coverng her chest is white and the skirt part is green with darker green stripes. Her black hair is tied up semi casually completed with a red flower.
I stand up and I'm about to bow and kiss her hand, but before I can do anything, she quickly and gently grabs my hand and kisses it. She comes up, curtseys again, smiling, and leaves.
I turn bright red. What just happened.
<Pudding Cup's PoV>
What just happened.
I feel a slight twinge in my chest area, as I see him turn into a literal tomato. He kind of daydreams past the last couple girls, as his face regains its original color.
I don't want him to talk to her.
She just looked straight at my eyes before she left. With her red eyes. Maybe I am being paranoid, but... I have this gut feeling.
You get me?
I get the thought out of my head.
If this girl is going to make the prince happy, I couldn't care less.
But somewhere deep inside, I did care. As I watch him watching the clock, waiting for his time to go to that girl, I can't help but feel...
Extremely bothered.
It must be because I care for him. It can't be anything else. It can't.

I stare at the clock, as the seconds tick by, ready to sprint out of this uncomfortable throne the moment the second hand touches the Noman number 12.
I want to go find that girl.
I'm jittery. It's just like my mom and dad.
I want to see her.
The moment the clock bell starts to gong, I jump out of my throne, and run.
I had been tracking her in the crowd while I was waiting for the clock bell to gong.
I find her green dress, standing out in the ocean of pink, yellow, orange, and red.
"H- hello!" I call out to her.
She turns around and looks at me as I stop in my tracks.
She looks beautiful.
She's really pretty.
"Hello?" she greets me in a semi confused way. Then she realizes I'm the prince and gasps.
"I'm so sorry, your majesty. I didn't realize," she corrects herself quickly, curtseying.
"No, it's okay, really," I tell her.
Oh my gOD BLANCMANGE FORGOT TO TELL ME HOW I SHOULD INITIATE A DANCE
"Uh, would you like.. to, uh, dance?" I ask her.
Oreo, you abSOLUTE IDIO-
"Of course!" she tells me, smiling.
"Oh, uhm, thank you," I thank her, stumbling over my own words.
I do the stuff Blancmange told me to do, as the music starts up. We start dancing as other people pair up on the dance floor.
"Whhat's your name?" I ask her.
"Watermelon."
