2: Unlikely Past

The prince had his eyes focused on Yoongi, giving him the harshest glare any of them had ever seen. If looks could kill he'd be six feet under. "I should've known you'd be back Agust D." He said with a scowl.

"August who?" Yoongi muttered, tilting his head. He glanced at the others, but they seemed to be just as confused. "What the hell are you talking about?"

"DON'T PLAY DUMB!" Jungkook's booming voice shouted as it rang throughout the throne room, making the group wince. He stood up and marched over to them. The prince continued to glare at Yoongi, hardly sparing a glance at anyone else. "Bow." He demanded.

"I'm sorry...what?"

The prince's glare intensified and he yanked Yoongi towards him by the collar of his shirt. "I said, BOW!"

Taehyung tugged at Yoongi's sleeve. "Hyung! Just do it!" He urged. Yoongi scoffed and glowered right back at the prince right as he pushed his away.

"Bow? Sorry, bud. I don't bow to people who don't deserve my respect."

"You're a ruin." Jungkook hissed. "Yet you still dare to stand here in front of me and speak of respect - dressed as a lunatic, with the kidnapped prince of Gwacheon by your side, a nobody and a dwarf?"

The group just blinked for a moment, processing what he just said. "Oh, he's calling Jimin short..." Jin stated under his breath.

The dwarf gasped. "UM, I THINK NOT!" Jimin stood and got between the prince and Yoongi. "I beg your pardon but I will have you know I am the average height for a man of my age! It's not my fault I'm surrounded by literal giants! If anything, you're just freakishly tall! You and your goddamn three-inch heels!"

The guards immediately stepped closer, aiming their weapons at Jimin. Taehyung sensed they were in trouble and pulled his friend back, chuckling nervously. "Haha! I apologise for my friend Prince Jungkook! He just hates it when people call him small! So um...I'd appreciate it if you didn't do that...Please?"

Jungkook raised his brow at this then waved off his guards. "Giving me a command? I ask you, who do you think you are?" He challenged

At this point, Jin was losing his patience with the situation. After all, he'd never been a fan of foreplay. "I swear to- Listen. We all just want to go home."

"If it's all the same to you, I'd like to explore a bit-"

"I SAID WE ALL WANT TO GO HOME!" He shouted at Taehyung. "So if you could kindly point us to the exit, that would be wonderful! If I had known the museum had a 24-hour cosplay joint, I would've come on a different day! Or better yet, not at all!"

Both the prince and his guards looked surprised by Jin's outburst. So much so, that they took a step back. "Prince Seokjin...?" Jungkook faltered. "What has gotten into you? You've never raised your voice like this!"

"P-Prince?"

Yoongi could already feel a headache coming. "Please, Hyung I swear, don't let this go to your head-"

"Finally! Someone who recognises the true beauty of World Wide Handsome! It's about time! I admit, I always thought I was more of an angel, but prince works just as well!"

The prince looked unamused. In fact, he seemed irritated. "Agust D must've brainwashed him. Escort him to the guest chambers then send a letter to Namjoon. Same for these two. As for Agust D, throw him in the dungeon. I never want to see his face again. And if I do, it'd better not be attached to his body."

-----------

"Hyung, what the heck happened? Why are we here?"

"I knew it was magic!"

"Taehyung, explain!"

"Okay okay okay!" Taehyung took a deep breath and tried to contain his excitement. "It seems we've travelled to this...magical...old era! Sort of?"

"And here I thought you were meant to be smart..." Jin sighed, pinching the brink of his nose.

"It's a weird mix of the styles and ideas that no one's ever been able to understand give me a break! From what I've gathered- Prince Jungkook is the ruler of Busan, Yoongi is some sort of criminal named Agust D, Jin is the prince of Gwacheon and as for Jimin and I...I'm not sure."

Jimin pouts at that. "Aw man, I was hoping to be like, the wife of a mega-rich mad king or something." He mumbled with his arms crossed. Both Taehyung and Jin shared the same 'wtf' look, the latter asking why.

"So I can take out my anger on groups of unsuspecting people while I yell "For the horde!" Oh! And so I can swing in a river of gold! I'd be like Scrooge McDuck!" He explained.

Jin, once again, let out a frustrated sigh. "There's no helping you children. But Tae, you said the wand was magic. Does that mean magic in general exists?

Looking somewhat unsure, Taehyung shrugged. "I can only assume so. As I said, It's all just theory, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was real! Oh my god, that means fairies, giants, mermaids, sirens and other creatures exist as well! That's amazing!"

"Is it?!"

"Whatever!" Shouted Jimin, shifting the others attention to him. "We need to get Yoongi and find a way out of here!"

"I know! But...I'm not sure how..."

"Guys! Hush! Someone's coming!"

"Okay, Hyung, remember - You're a prince!" Taehyung said to Jin. "Try to act like one! Remember all the strict rules your eomma made you follow!" Jin rolled his eyes but nodded nonetheless. The clicking of heels began to fade in from a distance as Prince Jungkook and a guard walked into the room.

"Prince Seokjin!" He ran full force at Jin, nearly knocking him over as he wrapped the confused man in a hug. "I'm so happy you're alright Hyung! What did that brute do to you?" He searched Jin for bruises. There were several and Jin was surprised he hadn't noticed them sooner. He even felt the pain from them begin to sink in.

"I-"

"Oh, it doesn't matter! I'm just glad you're alive! After what happened to the king and queen, we all figured you had run away! It's been weeks!"

"I-I...right..."

"I can only assume these two gentlemen were taken along with you?" Jungkooked asked, noticing that Jimin and Taehyung were awkwardly standing off to the side.

Jimin smirked and nodded. "Oh yeah, it was terrible! He never stopped complaining about how tired he was, and all he ever did was sleep! I swear, it's like hanging out with a dead cat!"

"Jimin!" Tae warned, lightly hitting his best friend on the arm.

"What? Yoongi's not around to hear, I'll shit on him all I want!"

"They're good friends of mine," Jin explained. "They had already been uh...taken when he got to me."

Jungkook gave the other two a look of acknowledgement. "I see. Well then, do you have anywhere to go dwarf?"

"Again," Jimin groaned. "I am average height for a man of my age! I am NOT a dwarf!"

"You are what I say you are! And I say you're a dwarf!"

"YOU-"

Not wanting any more conflict, Taehyung moved him away from the prince. "Hyung! Calm down." Jimin didn't respond and only looked away with a scoff. "My prince, once again, please excuse him. He's insecure."

"I am not!" He mumbled.

Jin shook his head. "You seriously are."

Jungkook hummed. He waltzed over to Jimin and stared down at him. He examined his features and did the same for Taehyung. "I like this one. I want him. The other one as well." He announced pointing to the two of them. Jin immediately began to protest.

"Hold on there. You can't just-"

"My decision is final. There are some clothes on the bed. Feel free to change as soon as possible. That scoundrel has no idea how to dress people properly."

-------

Yoongi laid on the bed of his cell. He wasn't sure how long he'd been there but after the guards threw him in he figured he might as well get some much-needed rest. His eyes were closed and he nearly drifted asleep. That is until he heard the cell guard start speaking. "I can't believe you came back... After all this time." He stammered.

Yoongi groaned and rolled up. He rubbed the back of his neck groggily and turned to the cell bars where the guard was standing. "You talking to me?"

"Of course I'm talking to you!" The guard took off his helmet and stared at Yoongi. His expression was a mix of disbelief and hurt, it was so familiar. "H-Hoseok!?" Yoongi's eyes widened and immediately came closer to the bars.

"What are you doing back here Agust?" His voice was strained and his eyes tired. Yoongi couldn't stand seeing him like that.

"No, Hobi, what are YOU doing here?"

"Don't call me that!" He yelled, making Yoongi take a step back. "You've lost the right to call me that name. Or any nickname for that matter."

"Sunshine," He continued, completely ignoring Hoseok's wishes. "How did you get here? I thought you were back at home."

"What are you talking about? Is this one of your little mind games? I thought I told you to never come back, or else you'd be put to death!"

"Shit...That's intense." Yoongi breathed out, almost like he didn't believe it.

Hoseok looked at him in disbelief. "How can you be so nonchalant!"

Yoongi only shrugged. "I'm not all that surprised honestly. That prince looked like he was about to spit in my face. Him wanting to kill me isn't all that shocking. Jeez, what'd I do? Kill his parents or something?" He nearly chuckled at how ridiculous this entire situation was. It was almost amusing.

That is until Hoseok continued. "Y-YES! YES, YOU DID! How could you even joke about that?"

"W-What? I-I did?" It was like being hit by a ton of bricks. Was he going to be killed for someone else's crime?

"They say you killed the rulers of Gwacheon as well. Please, tell me it is not true!" Yoongi couldn't say. So while Jin gets to be a prince, he's in the body of a killer? What did he do to deserve this?

"I...I can't tell you." Yoongi admitted after a moment of tense silence. He heard Hoseok scoff and put his helmet back on. Yoongi rushed back over to bars, looking slightly frantic. "Sunshine, listen-"

"I don't want to hear a word you have to say!"

"No! I'm not from here! I'm from the future! I think...honestly this feels more like some freaky alternate dimension. Either way, I need you to help me find my friends and get out of here!" There was no real way to explain without sounding insane. Regardless, it didn't seem like he was going to get Hoseok's help.

"You know I can't do that...Not again." Yoongi could hear the pain in his voice. That's when it hit him, they must've been in love in this world as well. He couldn't imagine the thoughts going through Hobi's mind right now. Yoongi was going to be executed soon, and all he could do was watch.

----------

The ride to Gwacheon was shorter than expected. Mostly because Jin slept through the majority of it. What could he say? He'd been up all night and the carriage was comfy. He hated having to leave his dongsaengs in that palace alone (especially with that prince) but he didn't have much of a choice.

When Jin entered, he was greeted by a whole host of citizens. All cheering, showering him in hugs, gifts, flowers and compliments. "I could get used to this," He thought with a smile.

Entering the throne room, Jin was swarmed with even more people! Among them was a tall man with short, pink hair. Jin could only assume he was Namjoon. Between all of them, he looked the most relieved to see him.

"Welcome back my prince." There was something about the way he said 'my prince' that made Jin's face heat up. It was endearing. God he really hoped they weren't married in this world.

"Why thank you Namjoon. I apologize for my absence." Jin remembered what Taehyung told him, and tried his best to act as princely and polite as possible. Namjoon only smiled and bowed. He just seemed happy to even have Jin in his presence. "Right, well, it's been a long trip. I should get to the kitchen and whip something up! Any requests?" Jin asked with a quick clap of his hands.

Everyone was silent. "My lord," One of the maids started carefully. "Since when can you cook?"

Jin scoffed. "Since always! What kind of person can't cook?" The maid quickly mumbled an apology after hearing his offence. "Besides if you're worried it won't be good don't worry, I'm the best chef I know." Namjoon looked at him sceptically.

"Prince Seokjin, are you okay?"

"Uh, yes? Fine, I'll stay out of the kitchen. Then can I make a request?"

The maid nodded. "Anything my lord!"

"Could I get a meat dish? I've been craving stew ever since I got here!"

Everyone gasped. Namjoon moved his hand to Jin's forehead to check for a fever, but he got nothing. "He's got to be sick! My prince, you've disregarded meat for years!"

"No...No don't tell me! I'M A GRASS EATER IN THIS WORLD? What kind of sick joke is this? Vegetarian? I'm a vegetarian?"

Namjoon made a small hum of uncertainty. He looked at everyone for permission to be excused, to which they thankfully agreed to. "Prince Seokjin, please, you must be exhausted. Allow me to take your chambers."

"Oh my God please! I need another nap! And don't say chambers. You make it sound like a weird sex cabin."

So to the chambers they went. Jin marvelled at the size of "his" bedroom. It had to be bigger than his entire apartment! He flopped face-first on the bed upon making eye contact, and let out a content sigh. He could hear Namjoon chuckle from the door, then felt his weight shift the mattress.

He leaned over and planted a kiss on Jin's soft lips, smiling fondly. "How I've missed you, my prince. These past few weeks have been a nightmare. But I'm glad you're back, safe and sound."

"Haha yeah, how about some space?"

"Pardon?" Jin shooed him away then sat up. Namjoon sits as well, visibly confused by his actions.

"Please tell me we're not married." He asked, somewhat desperately.

"I-I...no? Well, not yet-"

"Oh thank goodness! I would hate to have to pretend to be in love! To be honest, I'm still hoping this is all just a crazy dream. This is the last time I spend the night in a museum! Still, that kiss did feel pretty nice...and very real...Hold on."

He turned to Namjoon (who was still extremely confused by the situation). "Slap me." He ordered.

The other man looked at him with wide eyes. "My prince! I couldn't!" Jin let out a frustrated groan.

"Fine, then kiss me again!"

"I thought you said-" Jin rolled his eyes and pressed his lips against Namjoon's. He moved back before it could get heated, and blinked. Slowly, the realisation hit him. "Oh God...this...this is real!"

"I would sure hope so." A faint grin showed up on Namjoon's face as he brushed his fingers across his lips. "Prince Seokjin, you're not well. Please, lay down. Agust D must have done something to your mind."

"You mean Yoongi? No, the only thing he puts effort in is sleeping and even then he doesn't have to do much. I doubt he did anything to my head. I just have to get back to the others so we can figure out how to get out of here!"

He didn't waste any time. Jin sat up and rushed to the door. However, not before Namjoon grabbed his arm to stop him. "My prince! Please wait!"

"Can you stop with the whole 'My Prince' thing!" Jin groaned. "I'll admit, it was nice at first but if you're going to use it, do it in moderation!"

"My love-"

"Not that either! I don't even know who you are!"

Namjoon let go of him. He looked as though his heart had shattered into a million pieces. "S-Seokjin...What do you mean...?"

Jin paused. He looked over at Namjoon and sighed. Married or not, he and the prince must've been in some sort of romantic relationship. Jin had to be careful not to ruin that while he was here."You're not going to believe me, but I'm not actually from this time. My friends and I touched some sort of wand, and we got sent to this era. I don't know who you are, I don't even know what this place is! I know it sounds crazy, but I'm not your Kim Seokjin. I've just got his body and nothing else."

Namjoon just sat there in silence for what felt like forever. Until finally, he got up and placed a hand on Jin's shoulder, looking at him intently. "Alright, I believe you. And I'll help you get back home, on one condition - you bring my prince back."
