Chapter 3

I was listening to this song while I wrote this, and I just LOVE it!

Seastorm opened his deep purple eyes, and stretched. Shaking moss and feathers from his also purple pelt, the tom slowly padded out of the holly bush that was the warriors den. As the deputy walked out into the clearing, he scented something off. CloudClan! Neck fur bristling, Seastorm unsheathed his claws just as the cat on guard, a white and black clouded she-cat, yowled, "Intruders!"

The whole Clan seemed to wake up at Marshtail's screech, and soon Goldfoot, Duststripe, and Hearttail had joined the other two cats already in the clearing.

"Stop! We come in peace!" the head of the CloudClan patrol, a black and white she-cat with a torn ear, skidded to a halt before Marshtail and dipped her head. The clouded tabby growled at Ravenleap.

"You know CloudClan cat's aren't allowed on FoxClan soil!" The rusty-eyed cat hissed, flattening her ears. The black deputy dipped her head, acknowledging the true fact that Marshtail had meowed out.

"We know this, Marshtail, but we were awoken to BloodClan in our camp, saying that Scourge had disappeared, and when I went to fetch Mousestar, she had disappeared also." Seastorm stepped forward at Ravenleap's report, and the purple cat looked at the other members of the patrol. With Ravenleap, there was Amberstream, Sunfall, and Wildsong.

Dipping his head, Seastorm mewed, "Very well, I will check to see if Foxstar has too vanished, but you may leave now." As the patrol turned to leave, Marshtail meowed to her mate. "You really believe CloudClan cats? They could've been lying!"

"If they have, I would've sensed it, and seen it in Amberstream's eyes. That cat can't sit still when he is." The two cats stopped before a huge willow tree and Seastorm scented the air for his orange leader. Her scent was stale, and as he started to claw his way up the trunk, the deputy saw no sign of Foxstar.

Alarmed, he hopped down onto the lowest branch, and looked around quickly. "She's not here!" Although most of FoxClan's cats were already out in the clearing from Marshtail's alarm, Seastorm called out to the Clan. "Let all cat's old enough to catch their own prey gather around the big willow for a Clan meeting!"

As the remaining Clan cats slowly climbed out of their dens, they were surprised to see Seastorm, rather than Foxstar, up on the low branch. "We have urgent news! Foxstar is missing! For those of you who haven't heard the alarm made by Marshtail this morning, a patrol of CloudClan cats, containing Ravenleap, Amberstream, Sunfall and Wildsong, came to our camp telling of both Mousestar and Scourge's disappearances. I can only assume the other six Clan's have their leader's missing the same as BloodClan, CloudClan, and FoxClan." Seastorm turned to Featherpool, FoxClan's medicine cat. "Has StarClan told you of any of this happening Featherpool?"

"Nothing, Seastorm. They have shown me nothing." The she-cat paused. "But do you think this could have anything to do with the Dar-"

Suddenly, a small yellow she-cat bounded forward. Two other cats slightly smaller followed. "Our mother disappeared?! We have to find her!" Cryptpaw wailed, her odd-eyes were filled with two different emotions, fear and anger.

"What if something happens to her, and we never see her again!" The smallest of the three apprentices, a brown specked she-cat, mewed, her voice slightly wavering.

FoxClan's other deputy, a large white tom, jumped up onto the branch beside Seastorm. Gently, he meowed to the distraught kits, "We will find her, don't worry. Why don't you sit by Shadesky." As he said this, a brown tom stood up and padded over to his kits.

As the three cats calmed down, Featherpool re-said her cut off statement. "Do you think the Dark Forest is behind this?" A chorus of yowling started after the blue cat's suggestion.

"The Dark Forest?" Was one repeated question throughout the meowing.

Seastorm raised his tail for silence, and dipped his head to Featherpool. "You may be correct Featherpool, but we still have yet to kno-"

"I can smell some other cat's scent here, other than yours and Foxstar's!" Goldfoot interrupted, jumping down from Foxstar's nest. Seastorm jumped back up, and sure enough, there was a third, now fourth cat scent.

The tom jumped down and beckoned his tail over for Whitepelt, a large white and black tom. "Whitepelt, can you check that scent up there? You might be able to recognize it." The other tom nodded and jumped up. Whitepelt froze, and slowly climbed down.

With his fear-scent strong, the blue-eyed cat meowed shakily, "It's Tigerstar's scent..."
