IF she had a penny for every time she regrets something in her life, she will be a millionaire by now. Actually, she should be getting money with her regrets. They are just too many. Anyways, as much as she regrets not knowing the B5 children, she could care less after the attitude she received from Ayaan.
If there are any more people like Ayaan she is better off without knowing any of them. She also realized that they are all unimaginable and dangerously beautiful. Not a simple beautiful something so exotic and aesthetic.
It feels weird to know why she was so drawn to the chocolate honey eyes of this species. Because their parents are literally perfect. She had followed their parent's stories and things because she was so invested in their never-ending success. So, she knows how their parents look.
She nodded to Hanifa going miles and miles about her experience of her wedding while she was waiting for someone to say that the food is open. One thing about these private events is that she can eat. And she means, eats because other events she needs to socialize and her manager will be there to push any sort of food away from her and feed her grass.
Even at events. Her manager is strict. Maybe too strict. She is supposed to maintain a 50KG weight and if possible even lower for the brands to stay with her and a new one to come to her. Her life was hectic. She still loves the creativity in it. To be able to model different stories, styles, and things.
Being a supermodel meant she was in for many different things. Mostly, she was famous for being a show stopper for the biggest fashion designer launches. Recently, she was exploring more areas. For example, perfume was something she never thought she would get into. Then there are designer shoes, branded jewelry, and variations of different clothes. She was yet to choose the cosmetics brand she will be an ambassador for.
"How did you like him?" The question from Hanifa brought her back to the real world that was buzzing around her and somehow as the question was asked her eyes met with the familiar honey chocolate eyes across the room
This is not ok.
He was glaring at her even now which she dutifully returned. She won't hold back because he has a strong backbone. She will break his bones if needed. Challenging is always accepted by her. She isn't backing down from this stare-off. What he doesn't know is her hidden talent is not blinking for a while. It was something she needed to learn especially when the camera was focused on her. Blinking when someone is taking a picture can lead to failing to get the right picture instantly. Award shows have thousands of reporters with their blinding camera lights. She learned to not let that light affect her and not blink to give the best poses.
Anyways, she saw his eyes watering and smirk as she could see the anger rising in his eyes then he blinked. She could have shouted in the excitement of winning the challenge against him. Yet, she only sent a teasing grin that he snarled at. Once the people around him saw the look in his eyes, they stepped back and turned to look where he was looking. She quickly lowers her eyes appearing uninterested so they don't see her involved with him.
"I see". Hanifa said after a long moment and the way she said those words didn't settle well
When she looks at her friend, she finds her with the stupidest smirk on her face that she was itching to remove from there. She stopped just because it was her day.
"This will be fun". Hanifa said giggling to herself and she thought her friend has lost her mind after getting married
"Don't you have a husband to be with?" She asked annoyed
"I have a lifetime with him". Hanifa said dismissing her words, "I find this very interesting. How did you say you met Ayaan?"
"I didn't". She said dryly knowing Hanifa will exaggerate if she said anything about their meeting, "Go entertainment some other guests".
"You can't get rid of me. I am the only one you have".
"Don't remind me of my misfortune".
Hanifa rolls her eyes turning around when her husband calls her. She watches a beautiful smile gaze on her friend's lips and her heart shudder. It wasn't bad. She had prayed for an amazing man for her friend. She was beyond glad about the fact that she found a man as amazing as her husband.
She smiles slightly when she heard the food is open and people start to push each other to enter the area. She immediately steps into the corner to save herself from the violent mob. When it comes to food especially wedding food people do lose their minds.
All she wishes for is that no one eats her Baarfi (Asian sweet). She loves Baarfi. It is something that she loves since her childhood. Her Nana (grandmother) used to make such delicious Baarfi and she used to eat it all in one sitting even when she was scolded after by her parents. Her Nana would still always supply her with a whole plate filled with Baarfi each time she met her. The flavors are just so rich and tasty plus it is not as oily as other sweets. It is moderate. Even when she can't say it is diet food, she can still say that it is not that sticky.
Sugar was an issue for her. She is not allowed to consume a little sugar in one day. Not even one tablespoon. Prohibited is more of a word that suits her situation. Anyways, today, she will make an exception. There is no way a little Baarfi can ruin her figure.
After half an hour of wait and prayers, she finally entered the empty area where the food was on display. Almost all (especially meat) was finished. Just a few crumbs remaining. The dessert wasn't there. She continues down the line until she found someone near the Baarfi stall and he picks the last of it adding it all to his plate.
No!
She quickly went near him, "I want it".
The man turns at her voice and she groans when it was him, again. Is her luck that bad today? Why her?
His glare was set, again, "Excuse me?"
"You heard me. Hand over the Baarfi". She demanded
He raises his perfect brow, "And what if I don't, princess?"
She snarled, "Don't call me that. And if you don't you will face the consequences".
"Oh, I am so scared". He said mockingly as he starts to turn around and she moves to stand in front of him, "Look. It's really easy. Have you heard of first come, first served?"
She grovels, "Yes".
"Then move. I don't have time to be the main character in all your ridiculous fantasies".
She cannot believe this man.
"The number of times you have spoken about such a scenario makes me wonder if you read a romance novel or something. You are quoting them at any chance".
Red appear on his skin, and that was the first time she found someone whose body gets red instead of his face.
"Shut up".
She laughs, "So you do, huh? Don't be embarrassed. If anything I can help fulfill all your favorite fantasies from it".
"I have a sister". He snapped, "It means I do things that she wants me to do even if it means reading a romance novel with her so she can gossip".
That. That made her speechless and felt something deep within her heart. A soft glow. Something warm.
"Oh". Was her genius reply as she looks at her Baarfi one last time, "Fine. I hope you get indigestion".
"Whatever".
He push past her and she slumped against the wall. This was her only chance to get something unhealthy. Because even if she wants and likes to eat, she knows her work demands commitment especially if she is going to sign with someone who she didn't work with before.
She sighs.
With a dramatically broken heart, she walks out of the area still praying for his indigestion or at least the plate to fall over him- that might be cruel to food- not him. The food doesn't deserve that treatment.
She halts when she finds someone standing in front of her. She raises her eyes to meet the eyes of the devil pro brother- Azaan. His dimple smile is visible and his eyes are like molten chocolate lava. Their eyes were similar yet opposite. Ayaan's eyes are filled with nothing but negative thoughts and they are hot chucks of honey chocolate eyes. Yet his twin brother is basically candy.
"Is there a reason for a pretty lady like yourself to be frowning ?" Even his voice is sugar
She shrugged, "I have a devil on my head".
Azaan laughs, "I heard people say they have a devil on their shoulder and yours is on your head?"
"My devil is different I guess". Was it a good difference, Aaira? Her conscience asked and she ignored it
"I suppose". He said, nodding, "However, I still don't know the reason for your frown at such a joyful event".
She snorted, a joyful event, for him maybe, her sweets were gone, "I couldn't find the sweet I was waiting to eat. Though I can't help but wonder why is that your wife- I am sorry I mean whoever Zaina means to you is glaring at me".
Azaan immediately turns at Zaina's name sending a wave to which Zaina glare further.
"Don't mind her. She is possessive".
"Of what is hers, I believe". She said smirking
Azaan rolls his eyes, "That is not true".
"I suppose". She said using his words and he laughs, "Anyways, why not be near Zaina especially since men are all over her" Azaan turned around glaring at the men and she sees the similar rage as Ayaan in his eyes as she whispers, "... and come here instead?"
"Here". Azaan said forwarding the plate of Baarfi placed perfectly on a plate, "These are for you".
Before she could say how he knows which sweets she was talking about when she didn't tell him. He was already running towards Zaina pushing the man who was speaking to Zaina away.
And he said Zaina was possessive. She shakes her head grinning when she looks at the plate in her hand. She has the sweets now. She has a full plate. The happiness that blossomed within her was indescribable, as she takes the first bite and a few more, devouring the plate. She enjoys every single bite until her eyes connected to his.
Ayaan's.
He was sitting in front of a group of men who were obviously trying to get his attention for whatever they were talking about even one nudge him. Yet his eyes didn't leave her. She chokes on her sweet as she grabs a water bottle from the side, drinking it all. His eyes still never left her. There were no emotions so she wasn't sure why exactly was he looking at her. But, he was looking. At her.
She remains composure after the outburst not wanting to give much away. She will not be affected by whatever he was trying to do. Who knows which fantasy he read and was fulfilling. And yes, she believes that he was the one who was fulfilling his romantic fantasies.
If he was the most handsome creature to be alive with that toned body, perfect face, and hair. She will not fall for him or his charms. Never.
As she starts to move away to find Hanifa so she can leave the venue. The idiot who was harassing her before found her, again. She wants to slap him so badly. So so badly. If only. She knows for sure there will be videos online tomorrow. It can affect so many things for her. This man was not worth losing a dime.
"What?" She said irritated and frustrated
Frustrated because of him. His eyes. His looks. Just him in general.
"You manage to escape before. I suggested something for us to do". The man- whatever his name was- said flirting and it was disgusting
She was barely holding the need to throw up. She can't waste the sweets she was blessed with tonight because of this douche.
"Move". She snarled, "I am done with whatever you are thinking you have the power to do or right. Get out of my way. Now. I said no, multiple times already".
"You can't say no to me". The man growled stepping closer, "I am the one who buys everything you sell. You belong to me".
"You disgust me". She said, feeling her nerve rising
"Says who?" She heard a deep threatening voice just an inch away from her and she stood completely still, "Who says she belongs to you?"
She turns to find those fury-filled eyes on the bastard and his fists were so tight that she thought he will start to bleed. His body was shaking with anger.
"She said no, didn't she?" Ayaan said stepping in front of her, "What made you think you can force her? I would like to know"
"I-I-" The man started and she shakes her head, pathetic
Ayaan bends down to the man's level. Since Ayaan was six foot or so she believes. The bastard was like a little boy compared to his massive height and muscles. If she wasn't intimidated before she could be now. For sure.
He places a hand on his shoulder, from the wince from the man she knows Ayaan must have applied pressure, "Learn to respect woman as your equal or your doom is not that far. If I ever and I mean ever find you near her again. I will rip your head off. That is a promise".
She was sure this was another fantasy.
Then he turns around, smirking, "Let's never forget the first time we met"
She was sure she wouldn't even if she wanted to.
