*At Dinner*
Mrs. Charter's/ Taylor's mom's Pov (weird right?)
December was a very weird child but, I could't quite figure out why I thought this. I watched her as she blew bubbles in her lemonade with her straw...quite big bubbles really. I just brushed it off it was nothing, right? And then I started thinking, what if she had the same power I did, water bending. Or what if she had more powers...or none at all and I could just be over thinking this. Then she suddenly started coughing at random...weird.
"Are you okay December?" I asked.
"Yea fine..." she said trailing off.
Back to December's Pov
I was using my water bending to "blow" big bubbles in my drink. I suddenly got my mind reading temporarily...into Mrs. Charters thoughts. 'what if she had the same power I did, water bending. Or what if she had more powers...or none at all and I could just be over thinking this.' I started coughing, badly She askedd if I was okay. I told her I was fine. I needed to talk to her, alone. How hard could it be to just ask, right?
"Can I talk to you in private for a moment Mrs. Charter?" I asked. She looker taken aback but nodded her head.
Once we got to a place that was out of ear shot I started wispier yell "You have water bending?"
Her look of confusion turned into a scared look within seconds. "Did I say that out loud?!" She asked in a panicked voice. When I shook my head she looked even more confused then when I first pulled her away from her family.
"Then how-" she began but I cut her off.
"You were right, I do have more powers then water bending...mind reading being one of them." I explained. Her facial expression changed for confused to a combination of fright and shock.
"W...what powers do y...you have th...then?" she asked stuttering. I just looked down at my feet not saying a word. "Well?" she pushed. I still didn't say a word. "Don't make me send you home to your parents!" At this a tear fell down my face onto the floor.
"My parents died when I was eight years old." I mumbled. I hadn't told Taylor's parents about the accident, mainly because I din't think they needed to know. I should have known better. "If you really want to know about my powers ask Taylor. she knows more about me than my parents did. But for now I'm going home." I said. With that a turned around, said goodbye to Taylor (who gave her mom 'the look') and left.
