Chapter 11: Creep deep down
Good thing Colear was knocked out that time. They went in this big storage room deep down even from the basement. It was really dark. Luckily there was a lot of things they can use for a little while until Colear finds them.
Even though Colear is very powerful, he couldn't possibly just open that door that fast because his weakness is tracking people.
Drake asked Austin to heat up the doorknob so Colear would have a hard time opening it.
Drake saw a small bed to lay down Michelle. He brushed off the dust and layed her down. He found a couple of broken chairs and he sat on one of them. Brianna just laid down on the floor while Austin did the same and found a bag of chips.
"How old are these chips?" Austin asked them and pointed at the chips.
"Don't eat it." Brianna said.
"But I really want to," Austin yelled like a kid.
"Don't you dare," Brianna balled her fists.
Austin kept his mouth shut by then.
Brianna looked around the room. She laid her eyes on his brother. She knew he was worried about Michelle, so she walked towards him and sat down on the arm of the chair.
She just stared at him.
"Drake?" Brianna said.
Drake kept silent.
"Drake.." Brianna said again.
Still there was silence.
"Drake.."
Drake still kept his eyes on Michelle knowing he should take care of her.
"Drake look at me..." Brianna reached for his cheeks and turned his head. Drake looked so pale. His blue eyes isn't shining like it usually is when Michelle was still awake. Tears touched Brianna's hands from Drake's eyes.
"Oh my God Drake. Calm down. She's gonna be finee. Please don't worry too much.." Brianna looked through his panicked blue eyes.
"And why should I not worry too much again?" Drake said softly.
"Because.."
"Because what." Drake looked away from Brianna and dropped a tear.
Brianna sighed and reached for his cheeks and turned his head again.
"Drake listen to me-"
"What's the f*cking point? If she wakes up so very weak, she could.. she..she might die and I can't ever lose her. Ever." Drake said. He was out of breath and he laid down on Brianna's lap.
"Drake, I don't want to see you like this. It hurts me too. You're my brother and I don't want to see you get hurt. You always look by my side and asked if I was really okay." Brianna said.
"Look, Brianna, I appreciate your advice and all.. I.. I just want to be alone for a second please." Drake said with more sobs and tears.
"Okay, but please don't cry anymore okay?" Brianna smiled at Drake.
Drake sighed.
"Okay, but you're treating me like a baby. So stop it."
Brianna laughed a little. She rubbed his back and walked away to get some sleep.
Drake wandered around the room and saw Brianna sleeping in a dusty mattress. Austin did, too. Considering he hugged the bag of old, dusty chips in his arms and said ," I love you my babyy" in his sleep.
His baby. A bag of chips was his baby.
Drake shook his head and walked towards Austin and took away the chips.
He placed the chips on a table and went back to his chair.
Then, he stared at Michelle who still kept her eyes closed.
He stared at her and sighed. He started crying and crying again.
Finally, he stopped.
He had a dark window beside him. The window led to a creepy garden. He looked closer and there was a bench. It would be perfect for a picnic, but Colear would find them 'dating', he thought.
But, he saw a shadowy figure. He got closer and squinted. The bench was facing back from him so he could barely see.
When he saw that shadowy figure, he froze.
That shadowy figure looked like a woman, a teenage perhaps.
But, the girl turned around and met Drake's eyes. His eyes met her and froze.
His face turned pale when he saw her.
Half her face was covered in blood.
And the worst part, she smiled.
That smiled killed him in the inside.
Drake shrieked and turned his back from the dark window. His heart raced fast. He breathed out loud and calmed himself down. He took a deep breath and looked back. The bench was empty.
Drake faced his back leaning against the window. He was frightened and scared. He couldn't recognize who it was because she was covered in blood.
Then, he stared at Michelle. He kept staring at her until he checked the time. Luckily, there was a dusty old clock that still worked. It showed 1:52 am.
He really needed some sleep.
But he didn't want to because he wanted to keep Michelle safe.
No matter what.
He checked the time a few hours later. It showed 4:57 am.
He didn't care if he didn't have enough sleep. He just wanted enough Michelle.
A few minutes later, he heard breathing.
Drake was playing with his phone, but he stopped. He turned and looked at Michelle. She was barely breathing, but he could hear her having a hard time.
Then, he heard coughs.
Drake stood up and walked towards her. He laid down his knee and touched her arm. Her arm still felt very cold and it was very pale.
Then, she coughed again.
She coughed many times and threw up some... blood.
Drake froze.
"Oh my God, Michelle. Are you okayy?" Drake held her hand tightly.
Michelle stopped and laid down on her bed again.
She barely moved.
Drake kept staring at her.
"Michelle?" Drake said.
Michelle stared at him as well.
Then, she shook her head.
Then, she smiled.
Drake stared at her beautiful brown eyes and cried.
Michelle shook her head telling him not to cry. She stood up and stood on the bed with her knees. She reached for his cheeks and went closer to his face. They touched noses and met eyes.
Drake said in his breath, "Michelle..get some rest.."
Michelle just shook her head and stared at his blue eyes.
"You.. have..pretty...eyes" Michelle smiled.
But, her eyes closed. Her hands loosened from his cheeks. Drake sighed and tucked her back. He kissed her forehead and went off for a sleep.
But, Austin yelled.
"GOOD MORNING GUYS!!" Austin yelled. Drake jumped and stared at Austin.
Then, Brianna screamed.
"AUSTIN CAN YOU SHUT THE F*CK UP??!!!"
Austin finally sealed his mouth.
"THANK YOU"
Brianna looked at Drake. She walked towards him.
"Drake, you look so pale. Have you gotten some sleep?" Brianna placed her arm around his brother.
Drake shook his head.
"Oh my God, Drake. Get some sleep!" Brianna yelled.
Drake placed his index finger on her lips telling her to be quiet.
"I know, but something strange happened" Drake said.
"What is it?" Brianna asked.
Drake slammed his head on his sister's lap and slept like that. Brianna smiled and sighed.
She grabbed a pillow near her and brushed off the dust. She placed Drake's head on the pillow and patted his head.
Then, she walked away leaving Drake asleep.
