"Have a safe year this year won't you?" Mrs.Weasley asked Ron, Hermione, Harry, and Ginny as she pulled out of her bear hug with Harry.

"We'll try." Harry smiled at her at the same time Ron answered "We'd better, I want a normal year at this school for once!" With a whine.

"Normal year? At Hogwarts? Never!" Ginny laughed before hugging her mother goodbye as well.

"Well let's just hope it's not as eventful as your past years have been." Molly smiled at her kids before waving then bye as they started to walk to the train.

"But mum!" They all said before getting onto the train and heading to their usual compartment.

They all filed into the compartment and put their luggage into the overhead compartments before sitting down on the seats.

Harry and Ginny sat on one side while Hermione and Ron sat on the other.

Before anyone could start a conversation, the door swung open to reveal Dean, Seamus, Luna, and Neville.

"Hello everyone, there aren't many Nargles in here, do you mind if we sit in here with you?" Luna asked as the others already began to make themselves comfortable in the compartment.

"Of course not, come on in." Hermione smiled kindly at their friends, trying to stifle her laughter when she saw Seamus drape himself dramatically over Harry and Ginny's laps.

"Thank you." Luna smiled as she sat down next to Hermione, and Neville sat down next to Ron.

"I've missed you all so much! I didn't know what I was going to do with myself if I didn't see you all again soon!" Seamus stated dramatically as he reached his hand up to cup Harry's face, still laying in his and Ginny's laps.

"I'm sure Dean could keep you busy." Harry laughed as he leaned Seamus upright so he saw now only sitting in Ginny's lap.

"Harry!" Seamus exclaimed, his face going red making the others laugh.

"He's not wrong though," Dean stated as he sat down next to Ginny, taking Seamus off of her lap and pulling him into his own.

Seamus's blush darkened as he hid his face in Dean's chest.

"Anyways, how was everyone's summer?" Ginny asked after she finished laughing at the boys beside her.

"Mine was good, I was able to find a spell to get my parent's memories back so they remember me again," Hermione stated with a smile, remembering when her parents got their memories back and instantly began asking her questions, hugging her all the while.

"Oh, that's lovely!" Ginny said, smiling back at her.

"Mine was very eventful, my father and I went out with my cousins to find some fantastic beasts. They were very pretty." Luna said in her dreamlike tone, a smile gracing her lips as well at the memories of the summer.

"My summer was spent watching Quidditch and helping my mum and dad out with the house," Seamus answered as he moved so he was still in Dean's lap but now facing the others instead of Dean's chest.

"Mine was spent reading and writing letters back and forth with my love," Dean answered, smiling at Seamus's blush.

"I helped my Granny move houses and got a new pet toad," Neville answered with a smile as he held up his pet that was currently in a muggle cage so he couldn't escape as Trevor did many years ago.

"Cute! What's his name?" Ginny asked curiously.

"Trev," Neville answered sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his neck with a small smile.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Trev." Ginny smiled at the toad and then at Neville.

"Well, Ginny, Harry, and I's was spent playing Quidditch in the back yard with the family, helping mum and dad with the house and shopping. So much shopping." Ron stated, shuddering at the last bit.

Harry had decided to take the Weasleys on a spending spree as thanks for everything they've done to help him over the years.

They were all very reluctant at first but with enough persistence, Harry was able to get them to allow it and they went crazy with their shopping spree.

"Good to hear everyone had a good summer break! Now, who's excited to be back at Hogwarts?" Ginny stated joyfully, trying to keep her positive attitude even with all of the negative memories of the school.

Everyone looked at each other, their smiles now either forced or gone. The war flashed in their memories.

"Oh come on guys, I'm sure it'll be better than it was before and all fixed up like brand new! We just have to focus on the good memories we made there instead of the bad ones ok?" Ginny stated, really pushing for the good vibes to come back.

"For example, remember that time we were in the common room and were playing truth or dare? Harry had just taken a sip of water when McGonagall came bursting into the room telling us to go to bed. He got so startled that the water came out of his nose." Ginny laughed as Harry blushed in embarrassment at the memory.

Everyone laughed with her, Harry joining in too eventually.

"He got so red in the face!" Seamus laughed at the memory, doubling over in Dean's lap.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, haha. That burnt my nose just for your I formation." Harry huffed with a smile, showing that he wasn't actually upset at them.

Before the others could continue their conversation, the door was opened once again.

"Get your robes on, we're almost at Hogwarts." A prefict stated before leaving to go to the next compartment.

Hermione and Ron had stepped down as prefects after the war so they were back to being normal everyday students.

"Alright, who's going where to change?" Ron asked as he grabbed his new school robes (courtesy of Harry).

"Us girls can go into another compartment because there's fewer of us, we'll be back though so if you're not fully dressed by the time we get back then that's your fault," Ginny stated as everyone else grabbed their own robes.

So Ginny, Hermione, and Luna all left the compartment to change while the boys all changed where they were.

Soon the girls returned in their robes and knocked on the door before walking inside.

"It's safe!" They heard Seamus yell before opening the door for them.

"Welcome back!" He greeted them with a smile making the girls smile back at him.

They all sat back down in the same places as before and began talking in more detail about what they did over the summer.

The train stopped with a jolt, shaking everyone as it did so.

They all got up and grabbed their trunks before heading out to the carriages to be taken back to Hogwarts.

Well not all of them exactly.

Harry stopped to take in his soundings, falling behind the group.

He watched as Hagrid helped the first years into their boats, and he saw McGonagall standing on the other side of the lake waiting for the students to arrive. Then finally he looked up and saw it. Hogwarts, the massive, beautiful castle that held so many memories for him.

He was quickly snapped out of his daze however when he was run into by someone making him stumble forward.

"Sorr-" The person began before seeing who it was. "Oh, it was just you Potter. Never mind then." The person huffed making Harry's head snap up, only to meet oh-so-familiar stormy gray ones.

When Harry's eyes met Draco's however, something flashed in them. Draco's eyes flickered what seemed to be worry? Regret? Both?

Before Harry could say anything, however, he was grabbed and dragged away by Ron and Hermione.

"Why did you stay back for so long? There isn't an endless supply of carriages Harry!" Ron stated as they all walked quickly to the carriages.

"Sorry, I was just looking around that's all." Harry apologized before they reached the carriages. They all got into it before it began moving and took them to the castle.

"What did Malfoy want?" Hermione asked shocking Harry that it was her and not Ron to ask.

"He just bumped into me on accident that's all," Harry answered tho neither Ron nor Hermione believed that that was all he had done.

"Well, we should steer clear of him this year. I know you know who is gone but he still got the mark and he still could be dangerous so let's just keep away from him this year." Hermione stated shocking Ron and Harry.

"He's dead 'Mione, you can just call him Voldemort. Also, he helped me defeat Voldemort in the end so I don't think he's that dangerous, or at least he wasn't fully with the no-nosed bitch, to begin with." Harry defended, Ron, nodding in agreement.

"Even still, Mrs.Weasley said that she wants us to have a safe and calm year. Malfoy is far from that and so we should just stay away from him, that's all I'm saying." Hermione stated as the carriage stopped.

They all got off, Harry still not agreeing with Hermione while Ron was slowly getting more convinced by her.

"Whatever, let's just get inside and eat, I'm starving." Harry sighed making Ron perk up at the mention of food.

They all walked into the Great Hall and sat down at the Gryffindor table before hearing now Headmistress McGonagall speaking.

"Hello, students and welcome to Hogwarts."
