[RECAP]:

"H-hello Mr.Collins do you need something?"

It was noticeable as he got stood up his jaw tightened, he looked mad.

Uh oh.

He stalked towards me like a predator catching its prey, his fists clenched before coming to stand in front of me.

"Ms.Diamonds." his ice cold eyes which seemed to be withheld from any emotion stared down at me.

"Y-yes sir?" I stuttered shrinking away from him.

His eyes followed every movement I made seemingly moving towards me again. I was sure we were less than a breath away.

"Do you want to know why I am angry?" he asked.

"S-sure sir."

"I spent my lunch here in your room, so we could eat together, then I see you with th-THAT BOY." he shouted finally losing his temper.

I winced his voice hitting my eardrums and I stepped back again, my back hitting the door in the process.

"His name is Lucas." I said quietly.

"I DON'T CARE WHAT HIS GODDAMN NAME IS!" He shouted again.

Damn what was his problem.

"Ok yeesh calm down." I made a move to step away from him. He looked surprised at my statement his eyes flickering with some sort of emotion.

His burning eyes met mine again, I held his gaze staring right back at him.

Two can play this game.

"Excuse me." he said.

I moved to the side and he opened the door to leave, stopping for a second before shaking his head and closing it behind him and retreating back into his office.

Interesting...very very Interesting.

"Ms. Diamonds I need File A659 immediately."

Files?

"Um sir, where are the files you are requesting?"

Instead of hearing a reply all I got was the 'beep' sound of the call getting disconnected. I turned the intercom off and sat back down in my chair.

My door flew open, Mr.Collins coming inside without a knock and heading over to the file cabinets.

I stood up from my chair standing beside Mr.Collins and watched as he sifted through the files before finally pulling a file folder out and showing it to me.

"This is where you get the files. They're all arranged in alphabetical order. Don't disturb me next time for something as simple as this."

He walked away before I could even say a 'thank you'.

I retreated back to m desk setting up the calendar for today and future events.

Charity Gala on the 9th of April

I typed it into the calendar before forwarding the event to him through email.

Charity Event held to exclusive people/members.

Please join us, the event starts by 5:30 p.m.

Seems nice.

I refocused my thoughts on the work at hand, and eyed the clock on the screen.

4:20 p.m.

60 more minutes...

"Ms.Diamonds, get me a frappuccino."

"Yes sir." I replied.

I packed my stuff neatly, locking my computer and took a short trip to starbucks.

When I got there there was barely any people, almost deserted, I quickly ordered the frappuccino and returned back to work.

I greeted people as usual making my way to the elevator going to the 54th floor. I held on to the cup, making sure it would not spill, patiently waiting to arrive at the 54th floor.

A ding sound announced I had finally reached and I stepped out the elevator, heading to Mr.Collins office.

I raised my hand about to knock when I heard faint noises come from inside the room.

You know what they say, curiosity kills the cat. I decided to knock on the door loudly, signaling my presence. 

The voices instantly stopped and I heard a "come in" so I stepped inside.

Just as I thought, he was here with his mistress. I quickly averted my eyes, keeping them to the floor. 

Why should I care anyway?

"Your frappuccino sir."

I placed it on his desk, sliding it to him.

"Thanks you, Ms.Diamonds. You may leave."

I nodded my head. Giving a quick glance at his mistress, who had her shirt unbuttoned at the top, her lipstick smeared and hair all over the place.

I shook my head discreetly. I eyed her with a look of disgust before finally making my way out of his office and into mine.

I resumed my work, busying myself until it was time for me to leave.

But I couldn't help but ask myself...

Why do I care?

I grabbed my belongings locking my office door behind me. I didn't bother to tell Mr.Collins I was leaving because he might already be preoccupied.

I made my way downstairs heading to my car. Placing my purse in the seat I headed home, ordered takeout, then went straight to bed, feeling more lonelier than ever especially without my best friend Maddy

As my eyes drifted close, I couldn't help but wonder, am I one of those people who is going to end up with 76 cats and die a virgin?

I disregarded that thought quickly.

I don't even like cats. I'm more of a dog person.

I woke up the next day, doing my daily routine I always do in the morning.

I took a quick shower, and dressed in a loose white blouse and blue dress pants. I grabbed some red stilettos, my purse and phone then headed down stairs to grab a granola bar and was out the door.

I digged through my purse keys and pulled out my car keys, stepping into the car and driving off to work.

Life is pretty boring.

When I arrived, I made my way into the building greeting everyone as usual and heading to the 54th floor. I went to Mr.Collins office first, knocking before stepping inside.

"Good morning, Mr.Collins." 

"Morning. I need these files for today L7856, C8765, and X7895. I also need you to look at your email, regarding the Charity Gala." he grunted.

"Yes sir, Is that all sir?"

"Yes."  he shooed me away with a wave of his hand and returned back to his work.

Unlocking my door I entered my office, placing my purse and phone onto a nearby table and turning on the computer.

I sat down in my chair, drumming my fingers along the desk. It finally loaded, and I opened my email clicking open the one from Mr.Collins.

It said:

"By 10:30 a.m. you should be finished with all work. We are going to shop for dresses."

Dress shopping?

Oh lord.
