The Ashtounding Race Episode One Part One

This series is based on The Ridonculous Race but with Pokémon characters.

Ash and Pikachu were standing on the roof of a train station. They were in Toronto.

Ash: This is Toronto. Capital of North America and birthplace of funk where the albino panther roams free.

Pikachu: Beneath this historic train station, eighteen teams of all of Ash's Pokémon are about to embark on a race around the world.

Ash: We're your hosts, Ash and Pikachu.

Pikachu: And this is...

Both: The Ashtounding Race.

(Theme music plays)

Ash and Pikachu were at the train station.

Ash: Welcome to "The Ashtounding Race". Right now, eighteen teams of all of my Pokémon are readying themselves to embark on a race around the world.

Pikachu: Ash, I just got work from Professor Oak. He said the teams will be arriving soon. Half of them on onboard a train and will arrive shortly. The other half just got dropped off at the airport and are either taking taxis, buses or heading on foot, also flying for the Flying-Types. Plus, our friends are heading for the train station and airport.

Ash: Thanks for the info, Pikachu. Tell them the teams are on their way and to meet us at the train station.

Pikachu: Got it.

Ash: Speaking of which, let's meet the teams who are competing in the race.

Flying in the air were Talonflame and Noivern.

Ash: Team #1: Talonflame and Noivern.

(Interview)

Noivern: When I was Noibat, I met Talonflame back when it was Fletchinder and we've been friends since, along with Hawlucha. If anyone can win this race, it's us.

Talonflame: Yeah, Hawlucha and I have known Noivern since the day he hatched as a Noibat. It's like we're... (Talonflame notice Noivern was staring at him) What's wrong?

Noivern: Um... checking to see if you didn't have any loose feathers, for the camera. Looking forward to the race, though.

(End Interview)

Onboard the train were Leavanny and Palpitoad. Leavanny was brushing his leaves a bit while Palpitoad was asleep.

Pikachu: Team #2: Leavanny and Palpitoad.

(Interview)

Palpitoad: So, first of all, we're really tough, obviously. Second of all, we're pretty good fighters and are the best at what we do. So, unless either one of us messes up, we're so going to win this thing.

Leavanny: Palpitoad and I are pretty good. At first, we had a few... issues before we met Ash. But, after a while, we became friends, even though we faced each other one time.

Palpitoad: Oh, yeah. Still sorry for the unhappy encounter, by the way.

(End Interview)

Onboard the plane were Torterra and Infernape. Torterra was putting luggage away while Infernape was taking a photo of the both of them.

Misty: Team #3: Torterra and Infernape.

(Interview)

Torterra: I've studied some farming skills, thanks to some help from the other Grass-Types and Infernape has been practicing his fighting skills more, thanks to the other Fire-Types. Which will be very helpful during the race because we're here to win.

Infernape: And to travel the world and have lots of fun.

Torterra: If there's time for that.

Infernape: Still, it'll be fun to enter this race.

Torterra: True.

(End Interview)

On the train were Boldore and Krookodile. They were just staying in their seats, looking out the window.

Brock: Team #4: Boldore and Krookodile.

Also, onboard the train were Snorlax and Charizard. They were both excited about the race.

Tracy: Team #5: Snorlax and Charizard.

Snorlax: This is going to be great!

Charizard: Can't wait to see the group again.

(Interview)

Snorlax: Charizard and I met somewhere in the Kanto region and we've faced a lot of battles in the past. Well, mostly Charizard. I had some trouble with my appetite. Still, I did help out in some battles once in a while and even relaxed at Professor Oak's Lab.

Charizard: How Ash ever caught you, I'll never know. But, you're a lovable guy, anyway.

(Snorlax gives Charizard a big hug)

Charizard: Hey, easy, man! You're going to crush my wings.

Snorlax: Sorry, dude. I'm just so psyched to be reunited with my old friends again.

Charizard: True, true.

(End Interview)

Onboard the plane were Bayleef and Quilava. Bayleef was fixing her leaves while Quilava was sleeping.

May: Team #6: Bayleef and Quilava.

(Interview)

Bayleef: We've both been through a lot of tough fights, even back when we were Chikorita and Cynaquil. I've spent most of my days helping Tracy bring food to the other Pokémon.

Quilava: Well, honestly, Ash is a good trainer. This race is a great way for us to get stronger.

Bayleef: True. We've been working hard to become stronger and maybe someday we'll make some new friends in the process. Maybe even love.

Quilava: This coming from the Grass-Type who once had a crush on Ash.

(Bayleef blushed a bit, but laughs)

Up in the air, flying by the beautiful scenery were Swellow and Staraptor. They both looked at the amazing scenery.

Max: Team #7: Swellow and Staraptor.

(Interview)

Swellow: Staraptor and I met between Hoenn and Shinnoh and we've been having tons of battle races along with Unfezant for a while.

Staraptor: We're so excited about this race. We've always wondered how much fun it would be to travel. There's so many things to discover, like... what kinds of food we'll try and what kind of people we'll meet.

Swellow: I was just wondering that!

Staraptor: No, way!

(End Interview)

The train stops at the station. The doors open and then Snivy and Bulbasaur steps out of the train.

Professor Oak: Team #8: Snivy and Bulbasaur.

(Interview)

Bulbasaur: We know how to win. We faced tons of gym battles, so this race should be a walk in the park.

Snivy: Besides, someone's got to look out for our teammates.

(End Interview)

Stepping out of the train next were Squirtle and Totodile.

Dawn: Team #9: Squirtle and Totodile.

(Squirtle laughs)

Squirtle: Going around the world. Sweet. Hey, Squirtle Squad! Hope you guys are watching!

(Interview)

Squirtle: I'm the leader of Squirtle Squad and my team is out stopping fires. I was going to team up with my best bud, Bulbasaur, but unfortunately he's teamed up with Snivy. So, boom! I give you the jolly dancer from Johto, Totodile.

Totodile: Yeah, man! Team water forever. S and T for the W-I-N!

(End Interview)

Nine of the teams arrive at the train station and they see Serena with Braxien, Eevee and Pancham by the entrance.

Serena: Over here, teams!

Outside the train station were Donphan and Scraggy. Donphan was walking to the train station with Scraggy on top of him.

Serena: Also competing are Team #10: Donphan and Scraggy.

(Interview)

Donphan: Oh, it was a lot of fun traveling with Ash. This race is a great way for me to spend some time with the other Pokémon, plus it'll help Scraggy with not just battling, but about teamwork as well. Right, buddy?

Scraggy: Uh, yeah. Sure, Donphan. Say, just curious, but are there other Pokémon like me in this thing?

Donphan: Um... good question.

(End Interview)

Hawlucha and Greninja hops off a tree and ran to the train station.

Bonnie: Team #11: Greninja and Hawlucha.

(Interview)

Hawlucha: We're tough as nails and we'll do whatever it takes to win.

Greninja: Definitely. As long as we don't face too many Pokémon battles along the way.

Hawlucha: I'm okay with facing a few.

Greninja: Yeah, same here.

(End Interview)

Corphish and Buizel were both wrestling.

Clemont: Team #12: Corphish and Buizel.

(Interview)

Corphish: My buddies from Hoenn and his pals from Shinnoh already teamed up others, so we were forced to team up with ourselves. Jerks. They're just lucky I was in a good mood.

Buizel: I don't blame you for being upset. This better be worth it in the race, though. I was itching for a battle.

Corphish: Save your energy for the race.

(End Interview)

Sceptile and Unfezant were walking to the train station.

Iris: Also racing are Team #13: Sceptile and Unfezant.

(Interview)

Unfezant: Hello, to our fellow Pokémon out there. Wish us luck.

Sceptile: Unfezant and I thought it would be fun to enter this race, but we weren't sure if we could actually go through with this.

Unfezant: When I heard my friends from Unova and his friends from Hoenn were joining, we were more than happy to enter. This will be as fun as the battle races I had with Swellow and Staraptor.

Oshawott and Pignite got off a bus and walked towards the train station.

Cilan: Team #14: Oshawott and Pignite.

(Interview)

Oshawott: At first, Pignite wasn't sure about doing this. He has some trouble with his embers and had a bad trainer when he was Tepig. So, I said, "Just follow me, bud. I'll help you through this race no matter what."

(Pignite nods)

Heracross and Noctowl flies towards the train station. Heracross lands and walks while Noctowl sits on his head.

Ms. Ketchum: Team #15: Heracross and Noctowl.

(Interview)

Heracross: This race should be interesting. I wonder what kind of plans we could do with the money.

Noctowl: Who knows. I was thinking something for homeless Pokémon, trainers having trouble with battling, maybe even history on countless Pokémon. So many great causes.

(End Interview)

A bus stops and walks steps Torkoal and Glalie.

Officer Jenny: Team #16: Torkoal and Glalie.

(Interview)

Torkoal: This race around the world is pretty tempting. We thought it'd be fun to try it.

Glalie: If we're lucky, we might win the money.

(End Interview)

As Torkoal and Glalie made their way to the train station, a taxi stops by and Gliscor and Gible got out.

Nurse Joy: Team #17: Gliscor and Gible.

(Interview)

Gliscor: All the battles I had with Ash were tough, but together, Gible and I would fight hard to win the $1 million.

Gible: I know this is going to be awesome.

(End Interview)

Mr. Mime: And Team #18: Kingler and Muk.

(Interview)

Kingler: We rarely fought any battles in the past, but this race will definitely give us some fun.

Muk: It'll be fun to see all of Ash's other Pokémon. And to race around the world for half a mil each, we have one thing to say.

Both: Game on.

(End Interview)

Soon, all the Pokémon and Ash's friends were at the train station.

Ash: Welcome, my Pokémon. This historic train station is the starting line for a twenty-six part race around the world. First, before we tell you what to do during the race, we've given all of you translators. Thanks to Clemont.

(Clemont chuckles)

Pikachu: Anyway, each part of the race ends at a place called a chill zone. Here's what the first one looks like.

(A T.V. screen shows the chill zone. It was a bunch of tables with umbrellas, chairs, glasses of water with ice and a Poke Ball shaped rug)

Pikachu: Be sure to get to it fast because the last team who doesn't reach the carpet of completion will be out of the race.

The Pokémon looked a little worried.

Ash: But, the first team to reach our last chill zone will win... Say it with me, Pikachu?

Pikachu: Yep.

A T.V. screen shows a Poke Ball and it opens, revealing one million dollars inside it.

Ash and Pikachu: ONE. MILLION. DOLLARS.

All of Ash's Pokémon cheered. They were really excited about the race around the world, especially the grand prize of one million dollars which got them all really psyched.

Pikachu: One last thing...

Pikachu walks towards the tip box shaped like him. On top of the head is a Poke Ball shaped button.

Pikachu: This is the Pikachu Tip Box. Press this Poke Ball shaped button to receive your travel tip.

Ash: The travel tips lead you through different parts of the race. Here's what it looks like.

Ash shows them the travel tip. It was blue with a Poke Ball on it. After explaining the race, all of Ash's Pokémon prepared to start racing.

Pikachu: Ready, teams?

Ash: On your mark, get set...

All the teams were ready to begin the race around the world.

Ash: Race!

All of Ash's Pokémon started running/flying past Ash and Pikachu.

Pikachu: Watch the tail! Not the ears!

Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Donphan hit Poke Ball shaped button, receiving the travel tip.

Squirtle: Race on foot to the CN Tower. (Squirtle and Totodile runs off)

Donphan: And find the Pikachu Tip Box to get your next tip. (Donphan and Scraggy runs off)

(Sceptile hits the Poke Ball shapped button and grabs the travel tip)

Squirtle, Totodile, Donphan and Scraggy runs through town.

Scraggy: There's the tower!

(Bulbasaur and Snivy were right behind Donphan and Scraggy)

Bulbasaur: And here comes the competition.

Donphan: What was that?

Donphan accidentally runs into a trash can and knocks it towards Bulbasaur and Snivy.

Donphan: Oh, sorry about that!

Squirtle: Ouch. You guys okay?

Suddenly, Bulbasaur and Snivy used Vine Whip and tossed the trash can off of them. After that, they continued running and the trash can fell onto Squirtle and Totodile, but that didn't stop them as they kept running. Greninja, Hawlucha, Corphish, Buizel, Sceptile and Unfezant were right behind them. Back with Scraggy and Donphan, they reached the CN Tower.

Donphan: There's the Pikachu Tip Box.

(Donphan hits the Poke Ball button and Scraggy looks at the travel tip)

Scraggy: It's an "Either/Or". What does that mean?

Donphan: I think it explains it on here.

Bulbasaur and Snivy made it to the Pikachu Tip Box and Bulbasaur hits the button with Vine Whip, getting the travel tip. Suddenly, they see Squirtle and Totodile running pass them with the trash can still on them and they collided into a street lamp.

Bulbasaur and Snivy: Ouch.

Ash and Pikachu were inside the CN Tower.

Ash: An "Either/Or" gives teams the choice of two challenges. In this one, they either climb up 144 flights of stairs to reach the world's tallest observation deck, which is under a billion stairs.

Pikachu: Or "Scares". Meaning they take the elevator, then get the scare of a lifetime by doing a skywalk all the way around the outside of the tower.

Ash: Not to worry, though. The teams will be wearing helmets. Plus, jackets for the Flying-Types.

Pikachu: And as an extra precaution, we had a safety rail installed.

The safety rail was outside the tower, looking a little loose.

Ash: After the teams finish either task, they must find Brock and Croagunk to receive their next tip.

Greninja hits the Poke Ball button on the Pikachu Tip Box and got the tip. Sceptile and Unfezant were looking at their tip while Corphish were discussing about what to do.

Greninja: 144 flights of stairs? Yeah, we'll do scares.

Hawlucha: Agreed.

(Bayleef and Quilava makes it to the Pikachu Tip Box)

Unfezant: Scares?

Sceptile: Scares.

(Corphish and Buizel finally came to a conclusion)

Both: Scares.

Quilava: Stairs.

Bayleef: Sounds good.

(Interview)

Bayleef: Quilava had some issues with a bad trainer back when he was Cyndaquil. After Ash caught him, he's been a little shy and a bit of a coward at times. But, he's a sweet guy and very brave once you get to know him. After an encounter with Team Rocket, he evolved into Quilava and as a bonus, he learned a new move called, "Eruption".

Quilava: Team Rocket never saw that coming. Plus, I became more fearless after that day.

(End Interview)

Donphan and Scraggy made it into the elevator.

Scraggy: Alright, first ones in! High five!

Scraggy missed Donphan and accidentally hits the all the buttons on the elevator.

Scraggy: Oops.

(Interview)

Donphan: For a skinny tower, there sure are a lot of floors.

Scraggy: No kidding.

(End Interview)

(Donphan and Scraggy leaves the elevator)

Donphan: So, what do we do now?

Scraggy: If any of the other teams ask, tell them we chose stairs.

As they left for the stairs, five of the other teams made their way to the elevator. Squirtle, Totodile, Bulbasaur, Snivy, Corphish, Buizel, Greninja, Hawlucha, Sceptile and Unfezant made it inside, but noticed all the buttons were pressed.

Squirtle: Hey, who pushed all the buttons?

Hawlucha: Better take the stairs.

Greninja: Or we could just wait.

Hawlucha: You want to risk coming in last?

Greninja: Fair point.

(All, but Sceptile and Unfezant left the elevator)

Unfezant: This will probably still be faster.

Sceptile nods and the elevator door closes. Donphan, Scraggy, Bayleef and Quilava ran up the stairs.

Pikachu: While Donphan, Scraggy, Bayleef and Quilava climb up the large number of stairs, more teams choose scares.

At the lobby, Talonflame, Noivern, Charizard, Snorlax, Gliscor, Gible, Heracross, Noctowl, Torterra, Infernape, Boldore, Krookodile, Torkoal, Glalie, Oshawott, Pignite, Kingler and Muk were waiting for the elevator.

Ash: But, they're in for a long wait.

Meanwhile, Brock and Croagunk were waiting on the next floor.

Croagunk: No sign of the teams yet. You think they'll be okay with doing a skywalk outside the tower?

Brock: Not to worry, Croagunk. We had a safety rail installed and we have helmets for the teams. We also got jackets for the Flying-Types, in case it's too windy outside.

Suddenly, the elevator doors opened and stepping out of it was Sceptile and Unfezant.

Unfezant: I don't see any other teams.

Sceptile: Then, we must be the first ones here.

Brock and Croagunk noticed them.

Brock: Looks like Sceptile and Unfezant are the only ones who made it.

Unfezant: Let's hit the skywalk and make our way to the winner circle.

Sceptile: Right behind you.

Croagunk: I wouldn't go outside yet, if I were you.

Both: Why not?

Croagunk points outside. Scpetile and Unfezant looked outside and were shocked to see how high up they were.

Sceptile: That's a long way down.

Unfezant: Wait, you mean we have to walk... OUT HERE?!

Brock and Croagunk: Oh, yes, you do.
