Days gone bye
All I can remember from the out brake was you had to fear everything, every sound, every sight. No matter where you turned there was always something near by. I don't remember how I lost my dad. One day I saw him off to work and the next day I was shipped off somewhere. I don't even remember how I met the group I am with right now. My friends are missing. We got split up as soon as the outbake started.
"Allie calm down." Dale said to me as he puts his arm around me. We were sat a bit far out from the group. Dale was my rock this entire outbake. Shane or Lori were never this helpful. Lori may have been my mother but I have always been a daddy's girl no matter what. And after she started a relationship with Shane I didn't forgive her for moving on so quickly.
"My dad never left me for this long." I muttered looking around at the camp we had going on.
"Well if he's anything like you then he'll make it to you." Dale stated. He was like the uncle I never had. Since being in the Atlanta camp he has made sure that I am completely okay. Which I am thankful for since my dad is somewhere out there.
"I miss him. And Lori thinks that it's okay to move on from my dad so soon." I stated looking to where Shane an Lori were sitting.
"Grief works in all different types Allie remember that. When he arrives here in this camp she'll have to figure things out." Dale says looking at me with a smile.
"I'm scared that when my dad makes it here she'll still pick Shane. This isn't what Carl needs he needs his dad as well." I sighed.
"And if he doesn't make it here alive. He'll have his amazing older sister to tell him all these cool stories about how awesome his dad was." Dale stated making me smile.
"Thank you Dale I needed this." I stated making Dale kiss my head.
"Anything for little Grimmes." He stated. I heard loud noises in the main bit of camp. I look at Dale and grabbed my knife before we both go to see what's happening.
"Hello. Hello. Can anybody hear my voice?" Dad says.
"Daddy." I yell running down to the radio. Lori also rushes to the radio.
"Hello. Daddy. Can you hear me?" I ask.
"Can you hear my voice?" He asks.
"Yes, I can hear you daddy. You're coming through. Over." I respond Dale kneels down next to me and puts his arm around me.
"If anyone reads please respond. Broadcasting on emergency channel. Will be approaching Atlanta on Highway 85. If anyone reads, please respond." Dad says.
"We're just outside the city. Fuck." I shouted.
"Allie we'll find him I promise." Dale stated as he hugged me close. Lori puts her hand on my shoulder.
"He has a point. We'll find him. Grimmes's always find each other." Lori stated. I pushed past her and ran. I didn't hear what they're saying. Dale followed behind me.
"Allie. Wait up." Dale stated.
"That was my dad. He couldn't hear me. You saw the reaction on Shane's face when he knew my dad was alive. You saw the look on Lori's face. He's my dad and I couldn't save him." I sobbed in his arms.
"He's strong. That's where you get it from. He'll make it here alive. You certainty did." He answered.
"Dale my friends are out there as well." I stated looking at him.
"Allie Dale come here." Shane yelled up to us. I noticed a group of people down there.
"New people." Dale stated looking confused at me. I wipe my tears away before running down to where Shane was standing. I saw some faces that I recognised.
"Allie." One yelled. It was Nolan Walker. One of my friends.
"Nolan." I yelled running down to him and into his arms.
"You're alive." Charlotte Williams stated hugging me.
"Of course I am." I stated.
"What did I tell you about these Grimmes's. Look there's Carl." Tobi Walker, Nolan and Oscar's dad, stated.
"Where's you're dad." Nolan asked.
"No idea." I answered.
"Hello again." Henry Jones stated looking at me.
"Hey Arthur." I stated.
"Charlotte." Carl stated running up to hug her. We introduced them to the camp and we let them settle in.
