Betrayal
In a distant land where the wind never blows,
The tension is clear,
That everyone knows,
But when did it start?
That I'll now tell,
Our story begins,
In a dusty, old cell...
A man named Leonard,
Had once used a card,
An invitation for a guest,
One who lived,
In the far west,
And because of bad management,
He was given, this punishment,
"I did one thing wrong,
The punishment is too strong!"
He cried to the guard,
Who was not at all,
Trying hard,
To contain the young man,
Who only ate and drank,
From a can,
After getting set free,
He promised himself,
That he would be,
Up with the King someday,
And in the end he did,
Before turning old and gray,
The king and him became close allies,
Never did it cross his mind,
That Sir Leonard could wish to terrorise,
But that is what he did one night at dinner,
Trying to poison the king,
Becoming the "winner",
Sir Leonard's plan did not go as he thought,
The King survived,
So the Sir got banished with his lot,
But before he left the land,
He yelled out claims,
Not to mention,
Horrific names,
That he should have owned it all,
The people, the sand,
Have it in the palm of his hand,
To the prince who saw he had said:
"I would have gotten the crown,
If your father were dead!
You do not know how flawed the blood line is,
Even without me,
The people will resist!
If you were like me, like us,
The ruler of the land you would also discuss!
You would also want your father to step down,
You would even have handed me the crown!"
With those words he got shut out from Prince Jonathan's sight,
Then the young prince thought of those words,
Day and night...
