Bayley's pov:

I wake up to my alarm going off. I slammed my hand on it to shut off. I groan as I put my face in a pillow. "Bayley time for school!" I hear my mom shout. I groan as I get up and get dressed.

Downstairs:

"By the way, I talked to your teacher and got your last two classes of the day switched around so you don't have to deal with Paige and Carmella" my mom tells me. "Thanks mom, I'll probably be home a little late tonight because of basketball" I bite down on my toast.

"Ok sweetheart, I'll be home shortly after my work meeting" she kisses my forehead and heads out the door. I decided to text Charlotte to see if she was up and wanted to ditch school to go to the mall. I need some new shoes.

She texted back saying she was riding the bus with Becky which gave me an idea. I told her to tell Becky that I'll give her and Sasha a ride. Luckily they accepted.

I head to the address Charlotte sent me and see Becky walking out with Sasha next to her. I notice Sasha wearing a white crop top and black jean shirts with some black boots. She looks hot.

"Hey guys!" I call out. "Hey" Sasha replies back with a smile. "Sasha you can ride in the front with Bayley, I'll sit with Becky" Charlotte winks at me.

"Alright but don't go too fast or I'll kill you" Sasha says hopping in the car. She wouldn't kill anyone, she has too good of a heart. I turn the radio on and we head off to school.

At school:

We arrive to school as I park my car in the lot. Becky and Charlotte get out and start heading in. They forgot about us cause they are so into each other.

"Well see ya later then" I yell at them. Sasha just giggles, which makes my heart beat faster and a smile appear on my face. We start heading in and stop at Sasha's locker.

"So Sasha"

"Yeah?"

"I was wondering if you wanted to hang out later" I smirk looking Sasha up and down. She is way too beautiful.

"Sorry can't. I promised Bianca I would hang out with her" she frowns a little.

"Oh, it's ok...hey by the way can I ask you something?" I ask nervously. Wait, I don't get nervous. She's just another hot girl that I want then I'll dump her. Right?

"Sure" she smiles

"Are you into girls?" I look her dead in the eye and see her face get red.

"Yeah, I have a girlfriend back home actually.." she sighs, looking away.

I felt as if my heart was broken into a million pieces. I don't know why though, this is just for fun.

"Girlfriend? Wow, she's a lucky lady" I fake a smile. She blushes. Her girlfriend really is a lucky s.o.b.

"Yeah..it's kind of hard to have a distanced relationship but, were making it work" she smiles but I can tell it's forced.

I'm about to say something when Naomi and Tamina come over. Seriously? Do they ever let her breath?

"Hey Sash!" Naomi says excitedly running to hug Sasha as she hugs back with a smile. "Oh, hey Bayley" Naomi glares at me. Tamina is standing right behind me and I can feel her breath on my neck.

"Sasha we better get to class" Naomi tells her. "Right...bye Bayley" she says with a sad smile. I watch her as she walks away, I can't take my eyes off her. Just as I see her turn the corner Tamina stands in front of me.

"What do you want Tamina?" I groan annoyed. "Stay away from her, got it? We aren't letting you hurt her" Tamina threatens. "Look, if she wants to be my friend then let her" I tell Tamina walking away but she grabs my collar on my shirt.

"Don't act like you don't want her, I can tell that you do. You drool whenever she's around but I know just as well as you know that she's just a game to you. I will destroy you like I almost did last ti.e with what you did to my sister" Tamina growls.

"You don't know how I feel about Sasha, now if you excuse me I better get to class" I state pushing her away.

"I'm watching you, remember that" she threatened. Getting the girl is gonna be a tough challenge but I'm not giving up till she's mine.

Sasha's pov:

"I get that you guys care but she doesn't seem that bad. She's really nice you just have to get to know her" I tell my friends who have been trying to convince me to stay away from Bayley.

"Sash were just trying to protect you. Bayley's a player, if she gives you attention it's only because you're a game to her. Now that might seem a little harsh but it's the truth" Naomi states. "Yeah, just ask Lacey, Nikki, or Mandy" Bianca chimes in.

They do have a point, from what I've heard Bayley isn't a good friend or girlfriend. She's just a user and will use me. But I can't help it, I just feel a strong connection to her.

Nothing will happen between us anyway, I have a girlfriend who I love. Well, I think?

"I appreciate you guys so much, and I promise I'll try and keep my distance" I smile. I do actually mean what I say this time.

Time skip:

Sasha and Bayley are in English. The teacher is deciding partners for their upcoming project. "Alright class, settle down" the teacher shouts. Everyone in class goes quiet as I keep sketching in my notebook.

"So today I will be assigning you partners for your next project. I will not accept any switches under any conditions. If you do have an issue with who your partnered up with, which could lead to a possible fight then come talk to me after class" the teacher reaches for her glasses and list of partners.

I don't really know anybody in this class except for Bayley and Seth so I could be partnered up with a lunatic for all I know. "Seth and Lacey you will be partners, Lana and Rusev, Jimmy and Dash, Emma and Alicia, Sasha and Bayley, Dean and Renee..." the teacher goes on and on but I stop listening when my name was called.

I'm with Bayley. Well looks like I'm not keeping a good distance from her. I look behind me to see her looking at me with a big smile on her face. I smile back at her which makes her blush. Wait, huh?

"Alright class, now get to work. Your assignment is due Friday" the teacher explains. This teacher reminds me so much of my aunt, good lord 😩

"Sasha" I hear Bayley say taking me away from my thoughts. "Hm?" I reply back.

"You okay? You seem lost in thought?"

"I'm good, just thinking" I say with a smile.

"Well, we can meet at this one coffee shop after school to start our project then head to my place. Sound good?" Bayley asks.

"Sounds good," I reply back. "What should we do? Sideshow, poster, video?" I ask.

"Up to you, just as long as I don't have to write. That's a pain" Bayley groans.

"So you'll write 6 paragraphs?"

"No, I don't want to" She wines.

"You're cute" I giggle and see her blush.

"T-thanks, you too" she stutters. Did she just stutter and blush?

We talked about the project for the rest of class and also had a discussion about basketball. I told her I was the leader and should come watch my game sometime.

The bell rang and everyone got up from their seats to head to the next class.

"Hey Sash"

"Yeah?"

"I just wanted to know..um, well, if you'd like to go out sometime? You know, as friends?" Bayley asks nervously.

"I'd love to" I replied back with a smile. Being around Bayley makes my heart flutter. I like Bayley and just want to hang out with her, as friends.

All if a sudden the speakers go off and the announcer starts speaking.
"Mercedes Banks and Rebecca Quinn-Banks to the main office. Thank you"

"I guess that's me. I'll see you later" I tell Bayley.

"Wait, I thought your name was Sasha?"

"It is. Mercedes is my birth name, I just prefer Sasha"

"Oh, ok. Well I'll see you later 'Mercedes"

"Bye"

I head to the main office and see Becky heading in.

"Becks!"

"Oh there you are! Do you what this is about? "

"I have no idea"

"Rebecca, Mercedes. Come on in" we hear someone tell us

"Are we in trouble?" I ask, figiting with my hands nervously.

"No, of course not. I just got a call from you're mother. Some family emergency came up" the principle tells us

"What kind?" Becky asked worried

"You'll find out when your mother arrives. She's on her way" the principle says.

Becky and I sit in the office nervously waiting for our mother. I get a text from the girls asking where I am.

"Do you think everything will be ok?" Becky asks

"I think it has something to do with dad.." I say quietly as Becky looks over.

"Dad? You're dad?" Becky asks confused

"Yeah" I say looking down

"Why? You're dad is in jail"

"I just feel like it has something to do with him"

"Girls, your mother is here. You are free to go" the office lady tells us as we stand up

Becky and I head to the car and I sit in the back while Becks is in the front. I can tell by my mothers face that I'm not gonna like whatever she has to say.

"Mom, what's going on?" Becky asks

"I got some news, about Mercedes father" my mother says in a sad tone

"What happened?" I ask confused

"Your father, he got into a fight and was hurt really bad. He may not make it"

I'm speechless. My dad has always been there for me, i don't know what I'll do if I lose him. He's innocent but yet he's in jail all because of Becky's dad. Becky gets to see her dad and he gets to live his life when he doesn't even deserve to. I can't say any of this to Becky though. Even though he's an alcoholic with issues, Becky still loves him.

"Sasha are you ok?" Becky looks at me with sad eyes and reaches for my hand

"Yeah...just processing" I say looking out the window

10 minutes later we make it to the hospital and i immediately run out the car and into the hospital.

"Mercedes! Wait-" my mother starts

"Come on!" I yell with tears in my eyes

"Sweetheart I know you're worried but you need to calm down" my mother tries to calm me down.

"I just want to see him"

"I know honey, but he's in surgery right now"

"Surgery? Mom, what happened to him?"

"He was brutally attacked with multiple weapons. Knifes, a bat, and a gun"

"But, how'd they even get those?"

"I'm not sure. Police are saying one of the guards are working for Becky's father. He planned this attack"

Did I forget to say that Becky's father is an alcoholic mobster? And how much I hate him?

"I just want to see him.."

"I know baby, I know" my mother says as she hugs me and rubs my back as I try not to cry.

Back at school,

Bayley's pov:

I'm in history drawing in my journal as the teacher goes on and on about whatever. Sasha's supposed to be in this class but she's not and I'm kinda worried. Worried? You?

I don't know why I care so much, she's just another girl I can have fun with. I hear the teacher whispering to Naomi, who sits in the desk ahead of me, about something so I look up.

"Do you mind taking Sasha's homework to her after school? And let her know I'll give her an extra day if she needs, I understand she's having a hard time" the teacher tells Naomi.

"Of course, I'm sure she'll appreciate it" Naomi tells the teacher with a smile.

I'm curious to know whats going on so I try to ask Naomi.

"Pss, Naomi...Naomi" I tap her shoulder.

She turns around and looks at me. "What do you want, Bayley?" She asked annoyed.

"Where's Sasha's?"

"None of your business. Why do you care anyway? She's just going to get hurt being around you"

"How do you know that? And I'm just worried about her"

Naomi sighs, "She had a family emergency. Her dad was attacked and may not make it"

"Oh...Naomi, I know you hate me and I don't deserve your forgiveness but, can we at least try to be friends. For Sasha?"

"I know Sasha is attracted to you and you would glady take her to bed for a one night stand then move on, breaking her heart. I've seen you do that too many times to other girls who don't deserve that"

"Sasha is different"

"You just met her, if there's anything you're interested in it's her body. You haven't known her long enough for you to act like it's more"

I don't know what to say so I just look down as Naomi turns back around.

"That's what I thought" Naomi says as she continues writing down notes.

Maybe Naomi's right. Wait, of course she is. This is just another girl! No one special. What is this girl doing to me?

After class I try to catch up to Naomi but Tamina stops me.

"What do you want with my sister" Tamina growls

"I just want to talk to her" I try to walk past her but she stops me

"About what?"

"Look, I promise my intentions are good-"

"Yeah right" she rolls her eyes

"I want things to go back to the way they were before-"

"Not gonna happen, now leave"

I sigh, "Fine" I say as I walk away.

I just wanted to know how Sasha is that's all. I'll just wait to see her when she returns to school.

At the hospital,

"Eddie Banks family?" A doctor comes out and asks for us

"Right here" My mother says as I follow her over to him

"His surgery went well and he's stable. You can go see him but just one at a time" the doctor explains.

"You can go in honey" my mom tells me

"There will be guards outside his door but don't be scared. They are just doing that to protect him and our other patients" the doctor tells us

"Ok" I hug my mom and Becky then head into my dads room.

I walk into his room and see him connected to machines but he's breathing so that's good.

"Hey Sash" my dad says with a smile

"Dad" Is all I can say as I run over to him and hug him gently. I haven't seen him since our last visit which was 6months ago. We have talked on the phone everyday since but it's not enough.

"Wow, you grew in those 6months. My little girl is growing up" my dad chuckles.

"Dad, I'm 16. I'm not a little girl anymore"

"You'll always be my little girl no matter how old you are. I just wish I wasn't missing it" my dad says opening his arms and I lay in his arms as we cuddle. He kisses my forehead and sings the song we have always sang together since I was a toddler.

"You're gonna be ok right?" I ask as I hug him tighter

"Yes, I'm going to be ok. Once I'm a bit better I got to go back"

"I miss you, are you still working on getting out? Then we can be a family again"

"Honey, you're mother and I separated before and of this even started"

"I know but she hasn't moved on yet and it's been almost 2 years since you guys split up"

"I will always love your mother, just like I love Becky as my own. You three girls are my life, never forget that"

"I won't...I promise"

Back at the school,

Bianca and Naomi were talking with Montez and Jimmy when Bayley came over.

"Naomi can we talk?"

"Bayley how many times do I got to tell you to leave me alone"

"I know, and I will keep my distance but I just wanted to know how Sasha is"

"She's at the hospital with her dad, he's awake. That's all the information I got because Sasha is with her dad while Becky is giving us updates" Naomi tells me

"Thank you. Tell her I'm glad he's ok" I tell her as I walk away.
