It was February. My friend, Aachal's birthday was fast approaching. I knew my parents would neither lend me any money for a gift nor allow me to attend the party. But she was a really good friend of mine and I felt obligated to gift her something.

I decided to use my pocket money. But I didn't get enough in a month. Then, I finally decided that I would take the money from both my parents! They wouldn't even realise it, if I planned it out properly.

Taking money from daddy was easy. But my mum was a problem. I decided to deal with that later.

So I started with asking daddy for money at the start of the week. He readily gave me the money as he hurried off to work. I decided to wait till the end of the week to ask mum.

As the day came closer, I began thinking of what I was going to buy her. Maybe a bracelet... No. She likes chocolate, so maybe I should get her some.

Most of the time I was lost in thought. It probably made my parents a little curious, since I was not really one who thought so much.

Then, the day finally came. If I was caught, mum would probably take the money daddy gave me as well. I needed to be careful.

In the morning, I helped her clean the house and tried to ask her, but was interrupted by my brat of a little sister. The annoying little thing!

After lunch, mum went to her room. I saw my opportunity and made my way to my parents' room. I reached at the door and tried to muster up my courage and thought of what to say to her.
