Chapter 1

14th May, morning

"Mummy! I'm hungry!" she cried hysterically. She was usually a well-mannered girl, but that day, she was so excited. For what, you may ask? The plain little boy next door had asked her to meet in his shabby little wooden cabin in the backyard of his home.

She was in love with him, and his feelings towards her were no different. It wasn't just some small crush, like her friends had teased them with; no, it was love. She was so sure of it.

She quickly ate her cereal, and rushed out of the house, giving a quick kiss goodbye to her mum. She put on her favourite coat - pink with yellow flowers - and sprinted to the meadow next to his house.

Her hands ran through the bright flowers of spring. The pollen tickled her nose. From here, she could see the plain little boy's house. Her face lit up at the sight of it and she ran across the meadow.

The little boy was waiting for her at the front door of his home, and the shabby little wooden cabin was in his backyard. He was six years old, just like her, and was wearing plain clothes: blue shirt with red pants. They were pretty old, reused again and again. There were some sown patches from holes that had occurred when accidentally hitting a rose's thorns.

He too, had a wide smile spread across his face. They were the happiest people on Earth at that moment. She was thinking of running up to him, but that would catch too much attention. So she crept slowly towards the backyard, slowly and carefully tiptoeing towards her destination.

Within a few seconds, she was sitting in the shabby cabin, waiting impatiently for him to come in after making sure they were alone.

Thrill was creeping through her veins, and it wasn't long before it would consume her. The plain little boy soon came in, same emotions running through his blood.

For a moment - one that felt like an eternity - they just looked at each other. It was easier that way. Talking without words. They were telling each other much more than when they talked.

Then, the plain little girl made a step closer to the little boy. He did likewise, and they were only a few centimeters away from each other.

They didn't know what they were doing when their lips were pressed against each other. It felt like fire burning in their lungs warming their hearts, pumping like wildfire in their blood. This fire was their connection. Their love was a flaming one. They loved the feeling of powerful flames. Eventually, the burn was screaming too hard in their lungs, and they had to pull away.

Let's jump back there a second. That was me, the narrator, making this seen like the most special thing in the world. Now let me tell you about what they thought of it.

They didn't know. This was new to them, even if they had seen adults do it. When they had stopped, they pressed a finger to their mouth, and looked at each other. They giggled. Love. What a funny concept. They didn't know it was such a fragile one though. By fragile, I don't mean breakable. Well, yes, but not for them, that's not what I meant. It was a special love, but they didn't know how sacred it was for them.

What can I say? They were only children. They couldn't predict the future. They couldn't control it.

Just like a roller coaster.

Expect this one had no ending.
