I sat in my pajama shorts with grey camisole on at dining table having corn soup while talking to mom and dad about day to day things. We weren't allowed to use phone or see tv while eating. Mom says its not healthy to watch tv or use social media while eating, thoughts get influenced and food in our body reacts accordingly, if you're watching something evil bitch drama or fear type of show. I don't know how exactly though. So right now my phone was sitting beside my bowl.

My phone vibrated, so I glanced from corner of my eyes and spat the soup that I had inserted in my mouth and muttered,"The fu--" I stopped what I was about say when I turned my head to find my mom glaring and father looking rather curious about my reaction.

"Sorrieee," I smiled sheepishly grabbing napkin and cleaning the spilled soup.

"Haven't I asked you keep your phone on silent or in room while having dinner, how many times I have to repeat myself?" She asked angrily and her tone bored in end. My eyes met my dad's pleading for his help.

"Kids this days.... ," Dad shook his head, "this won't happen again Right honey?" He asked sweetly. Shaking my head in no,"It won't." I said smiling happily when mom's face softened.

I was jumping internally in excitement to confirm the notification, so I ate quickly and jabbed some salad in my mouth which mom had served me, usually I eat slowly and make faces while eating salads unless it was cooked in butter, spicy dressing and garnished with cheese, which was rare case. Mom was looking at me suspiciously, ignoring her stares I rushed to my room, locking door behind.

"Oh my god! Oh my god! Did he really?? Oh my god!" I was grinning ear to ear.

Unlocking my phone, I rechecked it, it was true, a friend request from Derrick. Wow! Here I was debating after coming home that should I or should I not and he sent me himself. I wasted no time and accepted. It was only a few minutes that his text arrived saying 'Hi' I quickly replied with 'Hello.' Then he told me that Maddy loved the idea of drinks I had gave him and he said thanks for it. Then we had little normal conversation about what I am doing and what he was doing.....

*Come on come on turn a radio on, its Friday night I won't be long...... *

I heard sweet melodic sound of my alarm tone, I let it play and hummed it in sleep,"FUCK!" I shot up from bed my eyes wide open as I remembered that I fell asleep while chatting with my crush. "Oh Cass, what's wrong? Are you blushing," I asked myself, smiling widely. "This is so not me."

There were messages from Derrick:

Hey you there?

Cass??

I guess you have slept already.
Gn sd ks tc.

I replied him with, "Sorry, I fell asleep" and got ready for school.

Mine and Derrick's friendship was growing in just two days we had lot of texting and got to know he was just grade ahead of me, I always had a more liking for big guys, maybe they were more sensible and polite unlike our class mates. Our school Seniors they never did ragging or things to Juniors and of course they were hot.

I understood in this two days, that I was actually had liking towards him. I don't know about him since we had normal conversation to get to know each other kind off but he did once stop at my door when he had delivery next door. It was little awkward, we didn't knew what to talk so he took his leave.

Today I had got group assignment and fortunately my partners were Caleb and Lily. Amy got with Oliver and Jones.

I purposely asked them to meet at Maddy's for project discussion as I wanted to see Derrick and Lily was quick to understand that, so I told her that I like him. Her reaction was I so knew it kind off. She was too excited to set him with me and suggested that we should go to some pub on Friday night and I politely declined. Asking upfront wasn't really my thing. So she said we would discuss about this when he's around and if he asks, I need to invite him. That was easy, I guess.

We were at decided place at 4pm. We presume people won't ask for deliveries this early evening or would hardly eat at this time of day. So we were expecting him to be around.

We were discussing about our project when Derrick came towards us, his destination was far end as he had serving tray in his hands. Lily noticed that and started the drama, "Hey Caleb? You're coming tomorrow for party right?"

"What party? Nobody told me." He whined like a kid and threw an accusing glare in my direction.

When he was almost near, Lily raised her voice, "Leave that, Friday night, party at club that would be fun. You're coming, right?"

"I guess," he shrugged.

I peeked from corner of my eyes, but didn't got any confirm clue that he heard us. So we continued with it, about who else were going to come and where to go.

Derrick passed by us just giving me smile. What was wrong with him? could have stopped and at least made a conversation, it disturbed me a lot and I hardly could focus on project.
