Tormented Love
Killian's Pov
The princess's words stuck with me. If she was going to die, she had asked me to give up my vengeance. There was no way in Hell that I was going to give my revenge up. The crocodile had ruined everything for me. He had murdered my every chance at happiness and I was now going to destroy his. So the only option was for me to keep the princess alive and get my revenge with her. And I doubt her parents would bargain for a dead girl. So I have to keep her alive.
She had passed out about halfway through the stiching, probably from the pain. In my opinion she hadn't drank nearly enough rum.
I am rinsing my hands of her blood as these thoughts come to mind. James is staying with her for the time being.I walk back into the chamber where the Princess is staying.
"After knowing you for quite some time, I would think you would spare a woman in love," James doesn't even turn around to look at me.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"Her fiance?"
"You mean that man that her parents probably arranged for her to marry? Aye. That's real love right there," I said, sarcastically.
"From what I have heard of Prince Neal that's not how it went."
"How did it go then?" I speak through gritted teeth, close to my edge, "I asked you to watch the Princess, to make sure she didn't die, not give me another redemption speech
"He became a knight for her. From what I heard I don't think the Princess wanted to marry a Prince. She wanted to marry someone for love like her parents. And that's why the Prince gave up his title for her. If that's not true love, I don't know what it is."
"Well not all love is two sided," I sneer.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means that she ran. She left him when he proposed to her. She didn't even agree to the marriage, so maybe your so-called true love doesn't exist."
"You can't honestly say that. You were in love once."
"And if it was true maybe I would actually be with her now. Did you ever think of that? Love brings nothing, but wasted years and endless torment. And from what I've heard, the princess will agree with me."
"Do what you will? Just know that revenge will never truly make you happy."
"What's with everyone saying that? When I get my revenge, I will finally have my happy ending."
"I assume there's nothing I can do to dissuade you of that."
"You're right."
"Goodnight Captain," he walks out of the room.
He closes the door behind me. I make myself comfortable on the couch. The princess must be watched closely. She is a prisoner, but most of all none of the scoundrels that call themselves my crew know anything about caring for a wound. I guess you'll be surprised at what they taught me in the royal navy. So that also meant that I was stuck with babysitting duty.
I hear a groan from across the room. The princess must be waking up.
"Ah," I walk over to her, "Looks like the sleeping beauty is waking. Do you need a kiss to wake up, Princess?"
"Do you need a punch in the face to wipe that smug look off?" she whispers fiercely, trying to avoid sounding in pain.
"Nothing can touch this devilishly handsome face. And I'm glad to see that even a bow and arrow to the heart can't bruise your ferocity."
"And it certainly didn't bruise your ego either."
"I wouldn't talk that way to your Captain," I sit down on the edge of the bed.
"And I wouldn't talk that way to a Princess."
"Oh I wouldn't want to talk to a Princess like that at all," I lean over her, "You see I prefer much more enjoyable activities with a woman on her back."
She brings her face closer to me, her lips inches away from mine.
"Well it's a good thing that I'm going to die then," she pulls her face away from mine.
"I told you, you're not going to die. Not on my watch, because I still need you to get my revenge, so you are going to stay very much alive."
"What is it that I can do to give you your revenge?"
"You can survive."
"Surviving is not living."
"I think it's actually the definition of living," I respond.
"Fine. I will help you get your revenge, if you help me get mine."
"Your revenge? I thought you gave it up." I ask her.
"Well that was when I wasn't stuck on a pirate ship for the rest of my life. All I need is information."
"On the man who broke your heart?" I ask.
"I'm afraid he did a lot more than that."
"Well I'm afraid you are in no position to make deals," I eye her wound.
"You need me alive," she sneer.
"Well it seems that you can do nothing else," I stand up to walk back over to the couch.
"Well even though I may not be able to walk, there is one other thing I can do. I can die. I know you smuggle weapons all over this ship, you're a pirate. And I bet that I can get to one and stab myself before you could save me. Then I would be useless to you or your revenge. You can't have me dead."
"Fine. Once you help me succeed in getting my revenge, I will consider helping you in yours. Deal?"
"Deal, but out of curiosity," she speaks, "What is your revenge? You know mine."
"A man once destroyed my chances at love and made me the pirate I am."
"Hell to love then?"
"Aye. It seems that we are both tortured by the hole that love leaves."
What do you guys think? I know it has been a while. You guys are amazing!!!
