Chapter 47: Firm Position

Saber the Bunny's P.O.V

Date: June 21st, 2017

Time: 3:20 a.m.

Two Days Before Protocol Afton

"I think it would be best if you would decrease the amount of chips you consume," said Hand Unit's voice above. "Sorry. I can't stop eating," I responded grabbing the last of the Doritos at the bottom of the bag, all while avoiding the gun and ammo box. It looked over at the computer, where Springbonnie was stilling searching information about lingering questions that reminded in his mind. It was currently three twenty at this time, showing I had less than three hours until I had to leave. "I'll be right back," I announced to Springbonnie and Hand Unit, as I walked outside of the room and towards the room with the refrigerator. "I'm assuming you feel the time is right to practice your training," mentioned Hand Unit. "I need to learn at the most a couple tips or the basics for arming and using a gun. I don't know when it'll be the time when I'll be going home and find a gun pointed at my head," I responded. "Acknowledged. I would prefer if you could use the items we have here as a way to practice, I do not wish for the company to have another reason to shut down another pizzeria once more. For my and your sake," he responded. "I have something we can use in mind," I responded as I walked into the room and opened the refrigerator, as I took out the Coke bottle that still had a small percentage of Coke left inside it. "I assume this is your creative thinking you're so dependent on," observed Hand Unit. "It's what I'm strongly suited in my area of knowledge, as far as I'm certain of," I responded as I drank the rest of the Coke from the bottle itself. "And yet, your mind continues to deteriorate," he added in, as I put the cap back on the bottle and placed the bottle on top of the fridge. "Or, as usual. I'm overestimating the capabilities you continue to show off too often, enough to be called 'overkill' in my eyes." I pulled the gun and ammo box out of the Dorito bag, as I sat the gun on the ground in an attempt to open the box of bullets I had bought. "You know, I mentioned the current state you're in to Star Cluster last night, she offered to find a solution for you if possible," I mentioned as I started taking the bullets out of the box and grabbed the gun. "I do not expect to be gifted so gratefully, considering the current state this company is also stuck in. The world gifts you more than my well being," said Hand Unit. "The clip is at the bottom. There is a release button at the left hand side." I looked towards the bottom of the gun and stopped fiddling with it in an attempt to school myself. The clip slid out when I found the button and pressed it, falling on the ground. "And I see having no reaction does you no good. Nice way to handle items carefully and with ease," criticized Hand Unit. "Why else would I fucking ask for help? I don't know how to fire a gun," I responded as I started inserting the bullets in the magazine. "Of course, I have to school you once more. And yet our generation relies on the internet to get somewhere in life. They can't ever make it easy for themselves," said Hand Unit. "I have to save my ass somehow. All week I haven't been in a stable or firm position to just relax rarely, it just can't end," I responded as I put the last bullet in the magazine and put it back in the slot it was designated for. "I will speak on your behalf: Someone like you doesn't deserve to be put through this torture as a starting point, but you've managed to do what is best to handle the situation, even if I disagree with the options you're relying on now," he responded. "It's time to carry out those choices and the first steps that'll lead you to the outcome. Aim the gun at the bottle." I did what he asked and pointed the gun at the bottle of Coke. "A 9mm. A respected choice that should serve the purpose it was designed for," observed Hand Unit. "Wraps your fingers around the handle, except the pointer fingers. Keep them above the trigger and never hold then near the trigger unless necessary." "If you say so," I responded. "I do hope that wasn't sarcasm. I do not need an ounce of it right now," he responded as I positioned my fingers the way he asked them to be. "Springbonnie is going to hear the gunshot if I fire it. I probably should've told him before we started," I mentioned still standing position while aiming at the bottle. "I pray his curiosity doesn't shape him into something this society does not need," said Hand Unit. "Back up all the way until you reach the end of the wall." I did as he asked, while I could feel the cold wall touching my back now. "The weapon will create minimal force when fired, be ready to control the nature of it," he said. "Let's find out how forceful it is," I responded while hovering my pointer fingers over the trigger. And with one press instantly, a bullet emerged out of the gun. Only the results I was able to gather was more focused on improvement. As soon as I fired the weapon, I was hit with an enormous 'bang' that made my ears ring endlessly, all while making my arms jerk backwards and hit the wall. "Shit! How the fuck do you get used to that?" I asked while grabbing my right ear, and shaking my left arm from hitting the wall. "Some never adapt. It's the price and pain you deal with when you arm yourself with a weapon, it's why we train ourselves and learn to ignore and hinder those obstacles," he responded. "It would also help if you positioned yourself more appropriately. Aim towards a firm position that doesn't seem tight and unorganized. If you could adapt towards that style, which I do pray you have the capacity to achieve and prove to be adequate," said Hand Unit, as I turned to notice the hole that was on top of the fridge, all while the bottle was still standing up, "Fair point," I responded. We both turned to the sound of footsteps, all while Springbonnie emerged from the hallway and stopped under the doorway. There was a brief amount of silence, certainly because of how his curiosity and limited understanding of what we were doing. "Hey!" I responded waving at him, all while Springbonnie continued to stare at me. "Acting casually will not reduce the questionable nature of the predicament you're in," added in Hand Unit. "What the fuck am supposed to do?" I asked. "What was that noise?" asked Springbonnie. "Ok. Listen," I started as I walked over to him while still carrying the gun in my right hand. "I need to be honest with you; I'm in danger." "What kind of danger?" asked Springbonnie as I stopped in front of him. I took a moment to respond, due to me configuring on how I wanted to share it with him. "Bad people want to harm me. Very bad people," I responded as I pointed towards my gun. "And this is the only way to stop them. By using harm against them." "But why?" asked Springbonnie. "Because I chose to. Not to hurt them, but to defend myself against them," I responded. "You ever need to use a weapon like this, don't use it for fun or just because your mind tells you it's good. Do it to defend yourself or others. Do it save yourself if necessary. Go back to the office, I'll rejoin you as soon as I can." Springbonnie slowly walked away, as I made my way back towards the spot I was at, and aimed my gun at the bottle. "I hope he understands what I'm doing properly," I said aloud. "The aspect we should be focusing is whether he'll use this knowledge wisely, rather than waste the meaning behind it for something else," responded Hand Unit. I fired once he was finished; jerking my arms back against the wall and filling my ears with a ringing again, as I managed to hit the bottle and knock it on the ground. I walked over to the bottle, all while ignoring the pain, and it picked it up to examine it. There was a hole in the middle from the bullet hitting and penetrating it effectively, which confirmed I indeed hit it. "Impressive. Your skills on perfecting mistakes are quite admirable. Your chance of survival is doable and far from unlikely," pointed out Hand Unit. "Yeah. It displeases me to see Springbonnie around this type of environment we've got him settled in. It will reform him if he continues to see the new world from our eyes," I mentioned, still holding the bottle and gun. "He's already seen it. Only, he has to see how far it has evolved, and how he has to adapt along with it. William Acton has to witness a prime example of how I represent the future, and I've already crumpled the new bond."
