Four Days Before Protocol Afton
It was the same thing like yesterday on my way home; I was in fear and at every moment I was looking all around me to make sure I wasn't being followed by anyone. And it wasn't until I left that I was brought back to the fact that they might be watching me go to the pizzeria. I had talked with Star Cluster for a while before my Xbox One had finally updated, and even got logged into it. I also bought a thing called Gold Membership to play online with other people, which could be good to meet new people on the thing. Though in the end I never got the chance to use the thing to watch the movies or play the game, which was fine with me since I could do that tomorrow. I also had to stop talking with Star Cluster since she still had work to do, but I was glad I was given the time to talk to her. We did after all talk for a long time. As I could see the pizzeria now, I started to walked faster and continued to look around, just so I could get inside easily. Thankfully, I didn't see anyone or any cars around as I walked across the parking lot, though that didn't mean I was completely safe without me knowing. I approached the front doors and immediately pulled out the keys and put them into the door now as fast as I could, all while still looking around before opening it and walking in. I turned around and locked the doors behind me as fast I could, as I walked towards the main area. I just wanted to ignore the trouble for once. I walked into the main room and towards the room with the elevator, all but focused on starting tonight. If I could even call it that since I didn't really do work here. As soon as I approached the door for the elevator, I immediately walked in closed the door while trying to carry the Doritos and the half empty Coke bottle I brought. I pressed the button to start the elevator, as the thing started to go down now. "I can finally have peace now," I said to myself as the elevator continued to go down. "That's an overstatement for the typical night I have, of course," said Hand Unit's voice. "Yeah. Nice to see you. I need to tell you something," I said. "I don't care, if you're, of course wondering. Unless, I'm wrong. Which the chances of occurring now are high enough for me to not care either," he said. "My house was broken into last night when I was here, I think it was that gang I told you about," I said. "How certain are you? Unlucky is the term I would strongly use to describe the occurrence," he responded. "They wrote on the wall 'your circuits are ours bitch' and left it there. Who else would leave that?" I asked. "Then perhaps I was wrong to overestimate the situation. I hope you're satisfied to say I'm wrong for once. If that pleases you, which I hope it does because I don't have the need to hear your bickering for the night," he responded. "I got Star Cluster to maybe get me a way to buy a gun so I can defend myself if they show up again. Which they will," I said as the elevator stopped and the doors opened. "You're having Star Cluster obtain the credentials and necessities to own a gun, in order to protect yourself? Overkill is something I never thought I would use to describe the idiocy and low intelligence you possess. And furthermore me not caring," he responded as I crawled through the vent. "What's that supposed to mean?! I'm going to die if I don't defend myself!" I exclaimed. "Ow! Fuck!" I exclaimed from me hitting my head on top of the vent. "Nice way to damage the only decent parts of your mind that are left," said Hand Unit as I got out of the vent. "How could you not care about me getting possibly killed!? I'm fucked if I don't do something!" I exclaimed walking towards the vent door. "I suggest doing the reasonable way and contacting the authorities about your situation; it also benefits their case on finding these gang members. You could've done that from the start, instead you choose to listen to Star Cluster and risk your circuits," he said. "Though maybe getting destroyed would teach you something anyways in the end." "What the fuck is wrong with you!? Even if I were to call the police, how long could they protect me for or even have the chance to find these people?! I would be fucked either way!" I exclaimed going through the vent door and now on the other side. "Fine with me. Then the company could stop investing in useless functioning animatronics that don't know what two plus two is," he responded. "You know what? Fuck you!" I responded walking towards the office door and showing the middle finger. "Real mature to see for tonight," he responded. "You don't give a shit about anything I say! Every time I try to talk to you, you act like an asshole! What the fuck is your problem!?" I exclaimed while opening the office door and walking in. "That's how the world is and how some people you meet will be. It's natural so accept that," he responded. "Why can't you stop being an asshole and talk about your reasoning then?! I wouldn't care if the company would leave you down here to rot while I work up there!" I exclaimed pointing at the ceiling. "They already will leave me to rot," he responded. There was a brief silence, since me and him didn't say anything in return. I couldn't respond because of what he said. "What?" I asked. "The company had decided that my use is no longer valuable from the start, in which Star Cluster told me contacting me personally by the use of our technology when this location was first constructed," he responded. "This was expected for me, even when I was assigned here. It was inevitable from when I was created." "What's going to happen to you?" I asked. "Most likely termination, in which my program will be whipped clean and erased from existence. Everything about me will be gone," he responded as I just stood in the office, all while letting me think about what he was telling me. "I had the burning hatred towards this place from the moment I had my program sent here; I knew there was nothing here for me, but more than to be trapped here like a finely placed mouse trap. I don't care about anything because there is no reason to, considering my existence is temporary." "That doesn't mean you have to have no hope, I can help you," I said. "There is no point in saving me. I know certainly I will not get the life I seek, my life will end here, just as it has begun in the same place," he responded. "I could call Star Cluster and get her to save you or maybe even have you work alongside me when the pizzeria opens," I said. "I would never wish to see Star Cluster's face again, not after she decided herself to order my termination," he responded. "What!? She's the one that made the decision?" I asked. "She nominated the decision and alongside the company in favor of terminating me. She took a part in it and therefore showed her nonexistent compassion towards her own kind, one that I fear might consume you one day," he said. "But she mentioned that she wasn't working with the company until yesterday," I responded. "Of course she's off lying once more. She's been working alongside the company for seven months now. It is more sad than ironic to discover she hasn't changed," he responded. "So that's why you don't want me to be like her?" I asked. "Indeed. I wish to not be around the same person who gave me my death penalty," he responded. "I'm sorry. I have to talk to her at least and try to save you. I didn't mean to be an asshole back there as well, I just couldn't take the constant attitude you had," I said. "It is understandable. Perhaps there is hope for you, where I have lost any for me," he responded. "I'm going to do all I can to help, whether you want it or not," I responded. "And even if I can't, I'll do anything to make your last few days better. Anything for my damn kind."
