Song; I Will Not Bow
Please tell me your feels in the comments everyone!
With an earth shattering roar Natsu shot forward and jabbed his elbow into Mard Geer's stomach. The blow broke the sound barrier and Mard Geer was sent spinning through the air. Natsu rocketed forward and ran underneath Mard Geer's air borne body. He leaped up and slammed his fist into the Demon Lord's face. Mard Geer's face snapped up and then he was falling to the ground once more.
Natsu's image was reflected in Mard Geer's eyes as he suddenly appeared above the Demon Lord. With a growl Natsu slammed his blazing hand into Mard Geer's face and smashed his enemy into the ground. A small crater was the result of the powerful attack.
Natsu flipped them around so his back was to the earth. He proceeded to wrap his arm around the Demon's throat and tug down. Mard Geer choked and he kicked and clawed at Natsu's arm around his neck. The Demon Lord's ears were filled with the Dragon's growls as he tightened his hold.
Mard Geer couldn't breath! His lungs were beginning to ache and protest about the lack of air. With a snarl Mard Geer lifted his arm and cracked his elbow into Natsu's ribs. The Dragon Slayer groaned at the pain and his grip loosened. The Demon took that small opening to flip them back around.
Mard Geer brought up his leg between himself and Natsu, and kicked his enemy away. Natsu flipped in the air and came back with a spinning kick. The heel of his foot knocked into Mard Geer's temple, succeeding in sending the Demon skidding back across the ground.
Mard Geer turned his head and spit blood. He leaped back through the air and with a wave of his arms, vines shot out of the ground, and came racing towards Natsu.
The Dragon Slayer growled and jumped back just as a vine cut into the ground where he had been standing only seconds ago. Natsu dodged a second vine by ducking to the side lowly as it flashed by his chest. The third vine managed to clip him in the leg as he backflipped away.
All three vines filled with deadly sharp thorns out for his blood, swayed gently in the air, zeroing in on their target. Natsu stood balanced on his hands as he watched the cursed vines upside down. Then they attacked all at once. They came streaking down for him at breakneck speed.
With a yell Natsu spun on his hands and lit his legs on fire. As the vines came closer and closer to him, Natsu poured his Magic into his legs, and let the fire explode outwards. The fire flew forth and attacked the Demon Lord's vines. The green vegetation jerked through the air and accidentally rammed into each other as they tried to get rid of the flames eating away at them.
Soon smoke took them over and they began to slow and die. Mard Geer's lips pulled back from his teeth in annoyance as he watched this happen. He could not understand it. Nothing and nobody had ever stopped his Curse. Something moved within the smoke that masked his vines.
Natsu Dragneel came running out of the smoke. His feet pounded against the vines that had fallen victim to his flames. Natsu shot upward, twisted in the air, and opened his mouth overflowing with flames.
"Fire Dragons;..."
Mard Geer's eyes widened and he tried blocking by bringing up his arms-
"Roar!"
Which all proved fruitless when Natsu's roar smacked into Mard Geer who reeled back from the force. The Demon Lord just had enough time to look up when pain exploded through his head. Natsu had catapulted himself through the air and had head butted Mard Geer hard enough to crack the Demon's skull.
As the Demon Lord stumbled back, Natsu's tail rose in the air, and slammed into Mard Geer's stomach. There was a snap that told Natsu that he had managed to crack his enemy's ribs.
"Sting." Natsu murmured. The Underworld King's vision blurred as he stumbled back. "Rouge."
The Dragon Slayer was nothing but a distorted figure to Mard Geer. "Lucy." Natsu seethed softly. He shook the blood away from his eyes as he took a powerful step toward Mard Geer, who slashed blindly at Natsu. "...Happy..."
The Dragon grabbed Mard Geer's wrist and with a flick of his fingers, crushed the Demon's wrist.
"Fairy Tail. My family." Natsu growled lowly. "You hurt them all!" The Dragon Slayer lowered his head until he was nose to nose to the Demon Lord who had hurt him and his family far too much.
"I will never forgive you."
"Your forgiveness means nothing to me." Mard Geer brought up his arm and punched Natsu in the face hard enough for the scales on the Dragon's face to shatter. Natsu reared back and winced at the flare of pain in his cheek. In a shower of blood and ripped skin the flesh on his cheek had been brutally ripped off to show the meat underneath.
The Dragon growled at Mard Geer, his reptilian eyes gleaming with anger. Natsu buried his talons deep into Mard Geer's shoulder. He gripped the Demon's flesh tightly as he unfolded his wings. With a hard flap he shot high up in the air with Mard Geer gripped in his talons. When they were nothing but tiny specks against the moon; Natsu dropped the Demon.
Mard Geer cursed as the ground came rushing up to meet him. He quickly tucked the book he had not let go of inside his coat. He then spun around in the air until he was facing the ground. Using his Curse he sent his new set of vines shooting up from the ground and ordered them to come and catch him. Just as his fingers brushed against the vines, Natsu came soaring out of the sky, and slashed his talons straight through the Cursed vines.
Mard Geer reeled through the empty air with nothing to stop his decent. He gritted his teeth as he spread his legs and extended his hand. He hit the ground hard on his feet and hand. He used the impact to roll across the ground to soften the fall.
When he pushed himself to his feet, he discovered that a bone in his leg had shattered. Mard Geer held his broken wrist to his chest and looked up to the sky with a sneer. Natsu hovered above the Demon's head with a sever frown on his face. His ruby scales glimmered and shown brightly underneath the moon's slivery light.
He flapped his wings and his tail swished in the air.
Natsu's black eyes narrowed as he studied the unsteady form of Mard Geer. He tucked in his wings and turned his face to the ground. Natsu shot straight down with the force of a speeding bullet. Natsu snapped opened his wings just as the ground kissed his nose. He zoomed forward and put his arm out to the side. His talons gleamed as he slashed them downward just as he passed Mard Geer.
The Demon staggered as the wind buffeted his long hair. Natsu skidded across the ground as he landed. Time was thrown to the wind and all sound cut off as Natsu looked over his shoulder the same time Mard Geer did. They locked eyes.
The only sound that touched their ears was the drip drip drop of blood trickling from Natsu's talons.
The Underworld King dropped to the ground as the Dragon stood tall.
A pool of black blood pooled around the still form of Mard Geer. A large chunk of flesh had been stripped from Mard Geer's side, exposing the whites of broken bones, and entrails. Natsu lowered his bloody talons and folded his wings. His tail twitched and thumped against the bloody earth. His scales flashed a thousand shades of red.
And too many tears glistened in his green eyes.
His shoulders shook as sobs ranked throughout his body. He covered his eyes with his taloned hands as he sank to his knees. "Ha...Happy..." Natsu whimpered hoarsely. Perhaps if he called out to his kitten enough times, then he would appear before him as if nothing had happened.
Natsu could picture it so clearly. Happy would come bounding over to him, the white tip of his tail swishing joyfully. The Exceed would then leap into his Dragon Slayer's open arms that always warmed him during winter. Happy would climb up Natsu's shoulders and curl up into the folds of his Slayer's treasure.
Happy was always happy within Natsu's scarf.
With a shaking hand Natsu gripped his scarf, and it was like he could almost feel Happy's soft fur tickling his fingers. A cord began to wrap itself around Natsu's breaking heart. The cord was decorated with spikes already stained from its victims' blood. It wrapped around Natsu's heart and began to tighten as Natsu's cries became louder and louder.
"Ha...Happy..." Natsu whispered brokenly, wrapping his arms around himself to keep himself from shattering. The cord squeezed.
"Natsu?"
He jerked his head up and the cord stopped.
Natsu looked up and only a few paces away stood Lucy. She looked horrible. Her blond hair was messy and tangled with blood and dirt caked in. Her bad leg was an angry shade of red and was swollen. She was leaning heavily against a charred tree to keep herself up. Scratches, burns, and bruises were scattered upon her once creamy skin.
And even though she was in terrible pain, she had limped Mavis knows how far, just to find him.
Just to see him.
Natsu's lips were parted due to the sheer awe he held for her. Her eyes sparkled with relief and sorrow.
The Dragon Slayer got to his feet.
She pulled her busted lips into a smile and kept the smile even though the action made her lips bleed.
Natsu took an unsteady step forward, his eyes locked on her, because if he even dared to look away...
Natsu would crumble.
Oh, how the Dragon loved his Princess.
Natsu's body rocked forward as a vine shot through his chest in a shower of crimson.
Lucy's eyes widened as blood flew passed her face.
Time slowed.
Blood poured from Natsu's lips in pools.
Lucy's scream was silent in her ears as she pushed herself off the tree.
Shock and confusion played across Natsu's paling face as the vine let him go.
All sound had faded from Lucy's ears as she limped forward as fast as she could.
Natsu stumbled.
Lucy could feel every painful step she took as they jostled her.
Natsu looked up, his eyes glazing over.
Lucy called his name.
Natsu fell.
And the person laying on their stomach behind him, with their pale hand in the air, and a smirk on their face...was the Underworld King.
Lucy's heart stopped as she caught Natsu before he hit the dirt.
~Hey...Fairy?
Lucy quickly turned him over, whispering, "No no no no."
Over and over again.
Where are you going?
"Natsu!" She cried, her voice nothing but a brittle whisper.
I will gather all the light
She threaded her fingers through his hair and supported the back of his head with the palm of her hand. Her eyes fell to his destroyed chest overflowing with blood and gore.
and shine it on your tomorrow
"Oh Mavis, on no, oh please, no!" Lucy muttered, frantically trying to stop the bleeding by pressing her free hand to the wound. Natsu choked and gasped horribly. His breaths were frantic and out of control. Lucy wiped her eyes in frustration. She could not see passed her tears.
Oh yeah, can you hear this voice?
"Don't worry, Natsu." Lucy said, unwinding his scarf from around his neck, and pressing the material to the fatal wound. Almost immediately the scarf was engulfed in blood. "You are okay. It's fine. Just keep breathing." She hurriedly instructed even as her voice cracked.
Oh yeah, it's hoarse from shouting
"L...Luce...?" The blood in his mouth made it hard for him to call out to her. "Y-yeah? I'm here. I'm here." She murmured soothingly, still keeping pressure on the wound that had not stopped its rivers of blood. "I-," Natsu sucked in a rattling breath. "I...Can't see you."
Oh yeah, it will last until your heart can hear it
A small keening whimper escaped passed her quivering lips. With her hand shaking violently, she reached out, grasped his hand, and gently placed his palm to her wet cheek. "S-see?" Lucy sniffled, "I'm here. Right here." Natsu blinked his blind eyes. "Ah...Luce..." he rasped. "Don't cry...I always h-hated it when you cried..."
Oh yeah, oh yeah
"H-how can I not?" Lucy whispered on a small voice, leaning against his hand. "When I hate to see you hurt?"
When you're not here to make me laugh
Natsu's mauled chest rose and fell shallowly. "Weirdo..." His voice trailed off. Lucy clenched her teeth, "Stay awake Natsu. You must stay awake." Natsu's eyes fluttered in response. "I-I'm going to go and get help." She told him, struggling to stand. "I'll get Wendy. She can heal you right?" Lucy faltered when Natsu's grip on her cheek tightened just a bit.
I can't find what I desire
"N...no...Lucy...stay..." Natsu mumbled. Lucy licked her dry lips and tasted the salt from her tears. "N-Natsu please..." She breathed. "I-I can't-" Live without you.
Snowing, be honest with yourself and smile
Lucy was cut off when Natsu huffed out. "You...wanna know"- he grunted in pain-"Why I came back?" Lucy blinked the tears away from her eyes but it was a useless act. They just came back anyway. "S-sure."
Anything to keep you with me.
Fairy, where are you going?
Natsu sucked in a breath that made his damaged lungs rattle. "I...I saw what you did..."
How strange,
Lucy lips parted in shock, "You did?"
your smile
"Aye," his crimson lips quirked up into a small smile. "You gave me the...Fairy Tail salute."
Makes me feel stronger
Lucy flashed back to the time in her room when Mard Geer had made her say those things. When she had bellowed that she hated Natsu, she discreetly put her palm to her thigh, and had stuck out her index finger and thumb.
Snowing, I'm shivering alone, but
The Fairy Tail way.
You're getting closer to wrap me up
Lucy had prayed that he had somehow seen the move. Now she knew that he had. A sob crept up her throat and met the air. "I-I knew you would." Lucy linked their hands together. "I'll always be looking your way, Natsu."
Fairy, slowly but surely
The next breath Natsu took broke apart in a series of sharp intakes as he tried to desperately fill his lungs with air. Only, his lungs were already filled with his blood. Natsu harshly coughed and red liquid landed onto Lucy's horrified face. "Natsu, you will be okay. You just have to stay with me!"
You're walking your way,
Maybe if she said it enough the lie within the words would come undone and the lie would become truth.
hang in there
"Luce...?"
"Y-yes?"
"W-when is a monster...not a monster...?"
Lucy opened her mouth again and again to give him an answer. But she could not find an answer for him. Instead she said, "It doesn't matter. Because you are not a monster nor will you ever be."
Laughing, you forgotten that you put me under spell
Natsu's eyes closed as he smiled a fang toothed, sunshine smile.
"I-"
Natsu's chest rose.
"I..."
And fell one last time as he released his finally breath.
"...Natsu...?"
You changed everything with one single smile
"Dummy," Lucy breathed out on a broken whisper. "Don't smile..." She leaned forward and placed her forehead to his. "Not when it hurts."
Lucy Heartfilia lost herself as her screaming cries washed over the battlefield and with each sob, she lost a bit more of her sanity, and soul.
Fairy...
Then, upon a whisper of breath that the wind snatched away, the Princess murmured, "You were my own little fairytale."
~My Fairy~
