Wendy was the first one to land a solid hit on her enemy. She had rocketed forward by kicking off the ground using her legs. The young Slayer shot forward through the air like a fired bullet and slammed her fist into her enemy's surprised face.
Wendy's much larger opponent had been blown back by her hit and she raced after him to deliver more blows. Just as she caught up to him, his extra limbs shot out, and wrapped themselves around her wrists. Wendy choked out a cry of pain when the Demon slammed her into the ground.
Wendy's sensitive ears could hear the bones in her arms and wrists beginning to snap and crack. The Sky Dragon Slayer struggled in a vain attempt to get free. But it was no use.
Ezel was much too heavy and he was crushing her. Soon her lungs would collapse and then her heart would fail.
Frustrated tears pooled in her pale pink eyes as her and her family's enemy leaned toward her. He opened up his maw as he growled. "Ya may be small," saliva dripped onto Wendy's face. "But I'm sure ya will taste plenty good~"
🔥🌟
With a shriek MiraJane shot forward through the air and dived bombed out of the night sky. Mira slammed her shoulder into Sayla who skidded back across the ground. The golden horned Demon swept her arms to her chest and then outwards as she summoned her Curse that consisted of books. Mira brought up her arms as the leather bound books knocked into her.
Using her tail she swatted and battered them away and flew higher in the sky. Sayla frowned up at her and kicked off the ground to meet her Fairy Tail enemy in the air. They clashed together in the dark sky. The white haired Mage clawed and swiped at the Demon who blocked the lethal attacks by blocking with her Cursed books. Neither of them let up until a large book slammed into Mira's head, bringing her smashing into the ground in a shower of dust and grit.
🔥🌟
To the left of Mira and Sayla was Laxus and his team. The Lightning Dragon Slayer stood with his arms crossed over his chest as he concentrated on hitting his target with his element. The yellow deadly light struck the ground again and again as it tried to blow apart Tempester. Except the lion like Demon was too fast. He invaded each attack that Laxus dealt out like he knew exactly where the attack would come from.
That's where the Thunder God Tribe came in. Freed unsheathed his sliver sword and lunged forward. Bixlow cackled as he called upon his babies who zipped around his head before rushing toward the enemy. Evergreen threw out her hands and little bolts of green light went forth.
Tempester twisted away from the green light that exploded when it came into contact with something. The Demon leaned left to avoid being impaled by Freed's sword and he created a small tornado to destroy Bixlow's souls.
Freed spun around gracefully and sliced his sword down. Only his sword was stopped by the Demon who smashed the palm of his hand into the Fairy Tail Mage's wrist, effectively breaking the bone. Freed cried out and was forced to drop his sword. Laxus' eyes narrowed with rage and with the added power brought on by his sudden spike of anger, the lightning came faster this time, and struck Tempester dead on.
Smoke rose up from the spot where the Magic had struck and there was no movement to be seen within the grey mist. Evergreen had just begun to relax when a clawed hand shot out of the smoke and grasped her throat. She choked horribly as her feet left the ground. "Ever!" Bixlow called out as his babies started to reconstruct themselves.
"You thought," a smooth voice said from behind the veil of smoke. "That a little lightning could kill me?" Glowing eyes broke through the smoke and the deadly hold on Evergreen tightened. "I'll show you all a real storm..."
🔥🌟
A few hundred feet away the ringing sounds of metal against steel could be heard. Sparks flew as katana met claws. Erza's sword was flying through the air so fast that to another's eyes it would be nothing but a blur. Kyouka's claw like nails knocked away and blocked the Captain of the Guard's sword every time it came down to decapitate her.
Once when Erza's weapon had been shoved aside, her left side had been exposed as she had tried to regain her balance. That was all it took for the Demon to strike. She gouged Erza's side until a fine trail of thick blood had spilled onto the ground. The scarlet haired warrior had grunted and taken a staggering step back as she held onto her ruined side.
Breathing heavily, she looked up, and could not stop the disgust that washed over her face. Some of her blood had flown onto Kyouka's face and with a sickening grin, the Demon had flicked out her tongue, and licked the blood off of her lip. Erza gritted her teeth as she fought against the instinct telling her to back away.
These were not just Demons, they were monsters as well. Erza quickly brought up her sword to block Kyouka's claws. Her ruined side flared to life but she pushed the pain away. She needed to focus-
Erza's vision vanished.
🔥🌟
Ahead of Erza and to the West side of the battlefield were Juvia and Keyes. The Water Woman flowed through the air and across the ground as if she were actually in water instead of being on dry land. Juvia rushed to the skeletal Demon and lashed out. She had morphed both of her arms into whips made of her Magic. The ends of the water whips smacked into Keyes' face and hollow eyes.
Keyes backed up and raised his wooden staff to block Juvia's multiple attacks. With much too fast movements he whipped his staff to the side and cracked it against the water Mage's temple. Juvia cried out and for a moment she could no longer hold her water form. Keyes took that chance to whack Juvia again, this time in the ribs, and that hit succeeded in bringing her to the ground.
Juvia did not understand it. She had been in her water form. The Demon's weapon should have passed right through her as if she was not even there to begin with. A strike to her back made her release a strangled cry. Her cheek was pressed into the ground and her head felt crushed. The Water Woman's vision faltered but she was determined. Determined not to give up. Determined to win!
Juvia struggled to her elbows as blood flowed down from her temple into her right eye. She swiped the sticky blood away as a dark aura picked up around the Demon's staff's middle. It was a dark purple with highlights of black. It hissed and moaned as its tendrils reached for Juvia hungrily. She scrambled back and cursed when one wrapped around her ankle, forcing her towards the silent Keyes.
Suddenly the dark aura turned white and the tendril around her pale ankle cracked and splinters. Juvia looked to the side just as Keyes did. A smile came to Juvia's face when she just in time saw Gray drop his hand and go back to battling against the Demon, Sliver. With giddiness in her heart, Juvia pushed herself to her feet, and whispered, "Drip...Drip...Drop..."
A waterfall of ice cold rain followed right after her words.
🔥🌟
Gray leaped back and rolled across the ground to escape Sliver's icy attacks. Light purple daggers made of ice rained down upon Gray, forcing him to once again evade. Sliver was fast. Too fast. The Demon could make weapons made of ice so much quicker than Gray could. The precision and sheer skill it took Sliver to craft any kind of weapon using Ice Make was unbelievable.
The Fairy Tail Mage ducked to avoid an onslaught of chains that Sliver dished out. When Gray jumped to his feet to face the smirking face of the Demon, something within him snapped. He spread his legs, bent his knees, and the sound of ice forming around his fists met the ears of the Demon and the Fairy. With an enraged snarl Gray unleashed bullets made of his Magic.
They bolted towards the ice Demon with breakneck speed. With a sweep of his arm Sliver knocked the bullets aside and they shattered upon impact. Gray exhaled as shock overtook his scratched face. "You need to practice more," Sliver supplied, putting a hand on his hip. "Too bad you won't get to have that chance." The Ice Devil Slayer attacked.

To the North, where Gajeel and Levy were having their own battle, was filled with chaos. The area was flooded with water tainted with poison. Underneath the peaceful surface of the water was an utter nightmare.
Gajeel, mouth sealed shut with metal, was dealing out blow after useless blow beneath the water. His attacks, normally so powerful that it could take out a swarm of enemies, had been reduced to nothing more but pathetic hits. The water had slowed down his attacks greatly and the toxic water was also burning his eyes.
It was a good thing that he had the lungs of a Dragon because without them he would have drowned by now. Gajeel risked a glance beside him to see the floating form of Levy. Using her Magic she had covered her head with a clear bubble full of air.
Gajeel ducked just in time to avoid a fish scaled arm and a pair of snapping teeth. The Slayer swam above the Demon and made his foot into iron. With the extra weight added to his body, he shot straight down, and managed to land a solid kick to Torafuzar's back.
The Demon's neck arched up and Gajeel could not get out of the way fast enough. Those razor sharp teeth and powerful jaws clamped down on his leg, breaking through the iron there, and cutting deeply into flesh.
Bubbles escaped Gajeel's sealed mouth through the cracks. The air bubbles filled with the Slayer's unheard screams floated up to Levy's horrified face. Soon blood also rose up to dance next to the Solid Script Mage's eyes.
Gajeel turned his arm into an iron club and hit Torafuzar on the head multiple times. The thick skull the Demon possessed shielded him perfectly from Gajeel's weak efforts. The Demon chuckled as he brought the struggling, bleeding out, Gajeel Redfox further into the dark depths of his waters.

Beaten, bloodied, and with multiple broken bones, the Twin Dragons faced Mard Geer dazedly. Both Slayers swayed on their unsteady feet. Rouge coughed blood and Sting had lost the ability to feel his right side. Mard Geer sat on his throne of thorns and vines with one leg crossed over his other knee. He had a book in his lap. A charred, ancient book that should have belonged to the Devil.
"You two call yourselves Dragon Slayers?" Mard Geer sighed out which made his bangs sway in front of his eyes. "How humiliating. How moronic." He mocked them, leaning his cheek onto his fist. "I should not have suspected more than utter defeat when it comes to you insects."
Rouge bared his fangs smeared with his own blood while Sting tried to get passed the ringing in his ears. "There is no escaping your classification." The Underworld King went on. "It does not matter what you wish to call yourselves. Whether it be, Dragon Slayer, Mage, human, and so on." He flicked his other hand in the air to show how little it mattered. "You will always be nothing more than an insect who refuses to allow itself to get crushed."
The Shadow Dragon Slayer was breathing harshly and irregularly. His heart was slowly giving out. The damage that this Demon had caused him and his friend was shell shocking. They had just started to battle him. Not even ten minutes had gone by and they were already broken and...sleepy.
No, Rouge numbly scolded himself as he slowly sank to his knees. His trembling legs finally giving up their fight to keep him up. I shouldn't be this tired... But he was. Oh, was he ever exhausted. He wondered vaguely if Sting was also as tired as he was. With a glance towards his best friend and partner, his heart catapulted to his throat.
Because Sting wasn't moving...and he was lying face down in the dirt with a puddle of crimson pooling beneath him.
"...Sting?"

Natsu Dragneel lunged forward with a ferocious roar that shook his bones. His face was twisted with anger and his flames drew power from that emotion. The orange and red flames cloaked his fist as he balled up his hand in preparation to knock Jackal's teeth out.
Natsu bent back his arm and slammed his fist down. Jackal leaped out of the way and swerved behind him. Natsu released a growl of irritation as he removed his hand from the destroyed earth. He spun around and sent a flaming kick the Demon's way. Jackal smiled as he caught Natsu's foot and shoved the limb away from himself.
The Dragon got up close to Jackal and decided to go with hand to hand combat to try and land a solid hit. Jackal ducked, blocked, and danced away from the Dragon's many blows. Natsu dealt out a series of punches and kicks all blazing with scorching flames.
Jackal dodged and ducked each one with so much ease that it pissed Natsu off. The Dragon let loose a powerful roundhouse kick cloaked in flames that Jackal quickly ducked under. The Demon spun behind Natsu, smirking.
Natsu fell forward and let out a growl when Jackal jammed his foot into the Dragon's back. The Demon grabbed the ends of Natsu's scarf and yanked. Hard.
Jackal's lips pulled up into a savage grin full of delight as he heard Natsu choke when his air was cut off. The Dragon Slayer's eyes widened and one taloned hand flashed to his throat, where his treasure was currently being used as a weapon to kill him.
"I'm disappointed," Jackal muttered with a pout. "I thought that you'd be tougher." Jackal twisted the scarf's ends over each other, making it so that the scaly fabric dug deeper into Natsu's throat. "I guess I was wrong." Panic flared up quickly in Natsu as he fought for breath. Focus. He needed to focus.
Natsu dug his hands into the dirt as he concentrated on his Magic and where to send it. The fire licked up its wielder's shoulders and came alive with a loud hiss. The tendrils of flame shot up and wrapped themselves around Jackal's hands. The Demon let out a howl and jerked his hands away, releasing Natsu who immediately could breath once more.
However his scarf had been ripped off and now hung limply from Jackal's smoking hands. Natsu's eyes zeroed in on it and anger flooded his mind. How dare that creature touch his father's last gift to him!
Jackal was too busy trying to frantically snuff out the growing fire overtaking his hands that he had failed to notice the promise of death that just had entered his enemy's mind. Natsu rose from the ground with his back to Jackal. A low, murderous growl vibrated through the air and made the fur on Jackal's tail puff out. Natsu turned just as the fire surrounding him flared and roared.
When the Demon met the Dragon's eyes, Jackal felt a flash of an emotion he hadn't before. It was chilling. Because Natsu's eyes had lost their humanity and Jackal finally saw the deadly aura coating the Dragon Slayer in waves.
Jackal smiled. Finally! This is what I am talking about! Natsu surged forward and dealt out a series of lethal blows. His objective was to get his scarf back. He felt slower and strange without its comfortable weight around his neck. Natsu swept his flaming leg up and nailed Jackal in the chin. But not before he suffered some damage of his own.
Jackal had inflicted a serious wound to his side. The Demon's claws had cut deeply into his flesh, leaving behind a nasty X shaped slash that leaked blood. Natsu gritted his teeth as he swept Jackal's legs out from beneath him. The Demon came crashing to the ground and Natsu took the opportunity to snatch his scarf back.
While Jackal was still down Natsu stomped his foot down upon the Demon's arm. Jackal snarled as he lashed out, forcing Natsu back so he could get up. His arm had not been broken (unfortunately) but he could feel a fine bruise coming along. Jackal flashed his fangs in anger as Natsu quickly wound his scarf back around his neck.
Natsu and Jackal stayed still for a moment. Glaring daggers at one another. Jackal had to admit, he had never experienced such fun! This Dragon Slayer was proving to be a worthy opponent to sate his boredom.
Natsu was the first one to start the battle once more. He swung and Jackal had to lean back heavily to escape the deadly blow. Natsu's fist sailed right over Jackal's nose. The Demon straightened and struck out quickly. Natsu had no choice but to spin away least he wanted to lose an eye.
Jackal dodged a certain kick and rammed his knee into Natsu's gut, making the Dragon choke and stumble back. He rubbed at his sore and bruised stomach and sent a burning glare the Demon's way. Jackal cackled at the look he received from his opponent.
"You should know something-" Jackal blanked in alarm as he quickly leaped away from the shot of fire coming for him. "Jeez!" Jackal breathed out. "Don't you ever listen when people are talking to you?" The Demon's eyes widened in surprise when Natsu's fist slammed into his cheek, sending him flying. Jackal rolled along the ground harshly and he dug his nails into the dirt to stop himself from rolling.
"I don't listen to people talkin' shit." Natsu snarled, taking a step forward that singed the ground. "Well," Jackal grinned, "You really should." Natsu stopped when he saw the Demon's eyes narrow onto his hands and feet. The Dragon looked down in confusion. With a start Natsu realized that his hands, feet, and stomach were glowing gold.
Natsu jerked his head up, his eyes wild with confusion and anger. "What the hell-"An ear shattering explosion rocked the earth and concealed Natsu in its intensity.
Lucy crossed her arms in front of her face to block the sudden blast of light that burned her eyes. Rubble and dirt flew up in all directions, some succeeding in nailing Lucy in the leg and arms. She stumbled back and Loke caught her and spun her behind him. Her heart was beating its way out of her chest as the explosion dimmed and the golden light died down.
When Lucy looked over Loke's shoulder, a surge of relief came to her when she saw Natsu standing with his back to her, smoke curling around his body. He was okay- Natsu rocked back on his feet and slowly fell to the ground.
Lucy inhaled and ran over to him, reaching out for him. He hit the ground on his side just as Lucy fell to her knees beside him.
Lucy's eyes grew wide and within the chocolate depths was shock. Natsu's eyes were wide open and blank. His face, hands, arms, legs, and middle had been charred by the Curse. "Natsu!" Lucy called out, panic in her voice. She gently shook him to try and get an reaction from him but he did not give any sign that he had felt anything.
Lucy quickly felt for a pulse. She did not feel one. Her own heart was beating out of her as she leaned forward to put her ear to his chest. In that few agonizing seconds that Lucy did not hear one, she felt like she was being crushed. Then the sweetest melody caressed her ears.
...Ba-dam
Ba-dam...
Ba-dam.
Natsu was alive and Lucy could breath again.
A happy cackle laced with darkness swirled along with the smoke. Lucy jerked her head up to see Jackal clutching his belly as he rocked back and forth while howling with laughter. "I-I warned him! I-I d-did!" He managed to get out between his awful laughter.
Lucy's jaw clenched painfully as the shock in her eyes morphed into rage. She slammed her foot forward and growled. "Shut. Up." Jackal stopped his laughter to give her a curious look. "And what are you going to do about it?" He hummed, crossing his arms over his chest, and swaying his tail. "You're nothing but a pathetic human."
Lucy was about to stand up and show him just how 'pathetic' she really was when Loke stepped forward, pushing his glasses up, a frown pulling down his lips. "My Lady, do not worry." Her personal guard told her with a wink. "I'll take care of this ruffian who dares lay an unworthy eye upon your beauty."
Lucy smiled up at him but the smile dropped away into a murderous frown as she brought Natsu closer to herself. "Very well," she said curtly. "But only if you promise me to send him right back to Hell."
Loke gave a deep bow as he took a step onto the battlefield. "Oh, you have my word Princess Lucy." Loke began to glow and he grabbed his wrist. Then, he said smoothly, "Regulus Impact."
The battles between Fairy Tail, the last descendants of the Hidden Kingdom, and Tartaros is getting heated and bloody! The Fairy Tail Mages along with the Dragon Slayers are not looking so great. The Demons seem to have an upper hand in all the battles! Who will come out victorious?
