Chapter 12
I'm back. Again. With another chapter.

Dipper's POV
I was walking to the North Tower. Apparently, Professor Trelawney had seen that Potter has the Grim & he's gonna die soon. Obviously, people were talking about it everywhere. And I mean literally everywhere. But it's not blackmail material so I should probably forget it... Anyway, what was I talking or thinking again? I remember some kind of rumor but I can't remember what exactly it is... Oh well!
I climbed the last few steps and emerged onto a tiny landing, where most of the class was already assembled. There were no doors off this landing, but on the ceiling, where there was a circular trapdoor with a brass plaque on it. It reads: 'Sibyll Trelawney, Divination teacher'
"How are we gonna get up there?" Some random Slytherin asked.
As though in answer to his question, the trapdoor suddenly opened, and a silvery ladder descended right at my feet. Show-off.
I emerged into the strangest-looking classroom I had ever seen. In fact, it didn't look like a classroom at all, more like a cross between someone's attic and an old-fashioned tea shop. At least twenty small, circular tables were crammed inside it, all surrounded by chintz armchairs and fat little poufs. Everything was lit with a dim, crimson light; the curtains at the windows were all closed, and the many lamps were draped with dark red scarves. It was stiflingly warm, and the fire that was burning under the crowded mantelpiece was giving off a heavy, sickly sort of perfume as it heated a large copper kettle. The shelves running around the circular walls were crammed with dusty-looking feathers, stubs of candles, many packs of tarot cards, countless silvery crystal balls, and a huge array of teacups. This definitely didn't look like one of those tents or divination stands (A/N: Is that how that word is supposedly written?) which are run by frauds at all... Note the sarcasm.
"Where is she?" Some girl asked when suddenly, a voice came out of the shadows. A soft, misty kind of voice.
"Welcome. How nice to see you in the physical world at last." Yep. Definitely not a scam.
And then she made us sit & introduce herself & her subject. Well, more like trying to make her subject sound as cool, mysterious & hard as possible.
Soooo...
Sh-She's a Seer.
Jumping Eagles & Locklear kind of Seer or prophet kind of Seer?
Dead Prophet kind of Seer to be exact.
Dead... Prophet?
You see, Pine Tree, Dead Prophet are usually bad at Divination. The accuracy of what they say being right can only get as high as 13%.
You said usually. What about those rare times?
S-Sometimes, well rarely to be exact, they will make legit prophecies with the accuracy of 100%, unlike normal prophet with only 96% at most. Wh-When Dead Prophets make this prophecies, their eyes roll back into their heads as well as slide on the ground towards someone related to the prophecy and/or float in the air and/or start glowing,... And when they are done making these prophecies, they will immediately fall unconscious, even if it's just for a second, & completely forget about the prophecy they have just made.
That's a bummer...
It is, my Pine Tree...
"Now, I want you all to divide into pairs. Collect a teacup from the shelf, come to me, and I will fill it. Then sit down and drink, drink until only the dregs remain. Swill these around the cup three times with the left hand, then turn the cup upside down on its saucer, wait for the last of the tea to drain away, then give your cup to your partner to read. You will interpret the patterns using pages five and six of Unfogging the Future. I shall move among you, helping and instructing." Professor Trelawney said.
I was the odd one out so I had to do everything by myself. After doing everything she asked, I read my tea leaves.
"Alligator.—This is a bad sign of personal danger and distress possibly caused by those nearest to me; it also shows much mental disturbance and worry; luckily, it's nowhere near consultant so a catastrophe isn't imminent." I whispered.
"Altar.—If with a figure near, sorrow and distress are foreshown." I continued.
"Anchor.—A pleasing symbol of good and loyal friends, constancy in love, and the realisation of your wishes; an emblem of safety to a sailor."
"Antlers.—An accident is predicted by this symbol."
"Badger.—For a maid, or a bachelor, this symbol predicts a single life, but one of freedom, health and success; for the married, it implies regret that they did not remain unmarried. Well, good thing I'm a bachelor."
"An open book.—It shows a desire for information and a mind ever on the alert to understand new theories and facts."
"King on His Throne.—Security and peace; it may also mean that I gain a high position through influential friends."
"Triangle.—A fortunate meeting, good luck; sometimes an unexpected legacy."
"Wall.—A thick, high wall denotes many difficulties in my life, and that much courage will be needed to overcome them."
"Women.—With bad signs, several women mean scandal; otherwise, society. Well that isn't sexist at all. Also, why so much negativity?"
"Cab.—A sign of gloom, sadness and parting."
"Frog.—A change of residence; with other signs, new work or profession; with bad symbols around, unpleasant sights and stories. Well, time to brace myself for unpleasant sights."
"Rat.—Treachery and other impending troubles, are foreshown by this unpleasant symbol."
"Ivy.—Patience, understanding, steadfastness, and loyal friends are indicated by this sign."
"I think we will leave the lesson here for today." Professor Trelawneysaid in her mistiest voice. "Yes...please pack away your things..."
Silently the class took our teacups back to Professor Trelawney, packed away our books, and closed our bags.
"Until we meet again," said Professor Trelawney faintly, "fair fortune be yours."
And with that, we left the classroom...

And it's done!
You guys have no idea how long it took me to go through all the tea leaves symbols & their meanings and chose which one to put in. I assure you that every single symbol I chose is a hint for what's about to come...
Anyway, that's it for this chapter!
