13. Moan
Lei's POV
Izabella is finally back after her month long honeymoon in Bora Bora. I want to go to Bora Bora but that's expensive, I'll stick to the beach.
She has invited us over to her place to have a party and I cannot wait. I know it's going to be small but I can't wait to see Izzy, I've missed her so much.
Another amazing thing is that it's May, meaning one more month of college and then I'm released. I can do whatever I please for 2 months. I'll probably just work, read and watch Netflix for summer. It may not sound that amazing to you but it sounds incredible to me.
I cannot wait for summer.
"I hate summer."
I gasp, turning to the devil who would say such a thing and Noah shrugs his shoulders when I send him a look.
"Winter is so much better. There's snow, christmas lights, christmas trees and christmas." He lists his reasons off on his fingers.
"Summer is better. Bikini weather, crop top weather, campfires on the beach, not to mention going to the beach and there's no school."
"I don't go to school, so that doesn't matter for me." He says laying out on the couch and resting his head on his hands.
"Whatever, summer is better." I end the conversation and leave the living room. I walk down the hallway into the bathroom.
I take a shower and blow dry my hair. I wrap a towel around my body and apply a minimal amount of makeup. I walk outside the bathroom and run into a chest.
"Noah, can't you see where you're going?" I ask and make sure to hold my towel up. I give him a glare that he doesn't see.
"It's not my fault that you're so short I can't see you while I'm walking." He holds one hand up and the other is shielding his eyes.
"It's not my fault you're a giant." I retort and he laughs at me.
"You can see my other giant parts." He says suggestively and I hit his arm. What a testosterone filled thing to say.
"No, thank you. Keep them to yourself."
He grins at my response and stands to the side, raising his hand as if he is leading me into a ballroom in one of those fancy movies. I walk past him and into my bedroom, shutting the door behind me and I hear him laughing as I do. I roll my eyes to myself.
I get to work on looking for an outfit to wear to Izabella's. After an hour of looking in my closet and looking for stuff that isn't there I decide on an outfit. I go for a pair of light blue mom jeans, white crop top and a gray oversized cardigan. I put on silver hoop earrings and some nude sandals.
I grab my purse and phone. I walk out of my room and yet again, run into a chest. The difference from the last one is that this one is shirtless.
After I back up out of his chest I look up at Adrian. He smiles at me and I look at him. He looks like he just woke up and it's 3 in the afternoon. His hair sticks up randomly, his glasses are on and he's in a pair of sweats.
"Are you ready Adrian?" I ask him and he looks confused. I sigh. How many times do I have to remind this boy of events that he's invited to.
"Izabella's party?" I hint, raising an eyebrow and his mouth forms an O. He runs to his room faster than I run when I hear the words ice cream.
I walk out to the living room and find Noah standing near the front door, looking like he's ready to go. Where is he going? He wears blue jeans, a white t-shirt and sunglasses cover his eyes. He looks down at his phone and I take this opportunity to stare at the tattoos on his arms.
One on his bicep looks like a constellation. I wish I knew which one but I never took astronomy and I'm not that into stars. I love them but not enough to learn all about them. Another tattoo that stands out to me is an eye. It's a detailed and gorgeous tattoo of an eye and I wish I knew what it means. Apple of my eye? Eyes are the key to the soul? Everybody's watching? What does it mean?
"Are you done staring?" He asks and I turn away quickly, walking to the couch to wait for Adrian. He follows me but stays standing.
"I wasn't staring." I lie and take out my phone to look like I'm busy. I look up at him and he winks.
"Sure. Keep lying to yourself. You know, I don't mind if you stare and if you ask I can take off my shirt so you can look at the rest of my art filled body." He sits down on the couch next to me, too close for my pounding heart. I feel my cheeks heating up again and he holds my chin up with his hand. I feel nauseous. Since when did this boy mess with me this much?
"I'm kidding, Lei," he says grinning, "After all we're just friends." He says and stands up as Adrian walks into the living room.
"Okay, I'm ready to go!" Adrian announces with his arms open and takes a couple bows.
"Good, because we're late." Noah glances at his phone and I pause.
"Noah's coming with us?" I glance between him and Adrian.
"Yeah, I was invited." Noah confirms and begins to walk out the front door.
"You were invited?"
"Yes."
"Who invited you?" I ask in disbelief, he lifts his sunglasses to make eye contact with me.
"Riley did." He walks out the front door and I look at Adrian. Adrian shrugs his shoulders and walks out the door as well.
More time with Noah, what could go wrong?
I run out the door, locking it behind me and race down the steps. I thank God when I don't fall. I run past Noah and Adrian who stare at me. I shout "I'm driving!"
They immediately start running to catch up with me to see who will get to the car first.
I won.
...
"Hey!"
As we all walk into the apartment we are bombarded with greetings, hugs and offers for drinks.
"Izzy!" I squeal and run to my best friend, knocking her down on the carpet. I hug her with all my might and she hugs me back. I breathe in her scent of coconuts and flowers.
"I missed you." I tell her and she gives me a smile.
"I can tell."
"Are you guys just going to hug all night? I'm getting jealous." Drew stands next to our tangled bodies and he offers me a hand. I take it and give him a bear hug. I look over his shoulder and I see Noah watching us.
"Hey Drew, have you met Noah?" I ask him and take his hand, leading him over to my roommate who's standing next to a ranting Spencer.
"No, I don't think I have."
"Noah meet Drew and Drew meet Noah." Drew reaches out his hand for a handshake and Noah looks at it for a second. He gives me a glance, puts on the biggest fake smile I've ever seen and gives Drew a hug.
"That's a little tight uh-" Drew squeaks as Noah squeezes him in the hug.
"Sorry, I'm kind of a hugger." He says giving Drew another fake smile and Drew slaps his shoulder with more force than necessary.
"No problem, man. So am I."
"Have you been listening to me!?" Spencer interrupts and he looks at Noah with a look of rage.
"I have been talking to a wall this whole time? All I asked for was 10 minutes of your time so I could rant about everything that is going wrong in my life. But no you had to meet Drew, can you please give me attention..." Noah puts his arm around Spencer's shoulders and steers him towards the couch while saying comforting words and patting his back.
Kind of cute.
"He seems like a nice guy." Drew says and puts his arm around my waist and leads me to the couch as well. I would remove his arm but he's a friend, it don't matter.
At least I thought it didn't matter, it mattered a lot more to someone else than me.
Everyone settled down around the coffee table in the center of the living room. Noah had been introduced to Izabella and Mitchel. They, like most of my other friends immediately liked him and engaged in conversations with him. They learned what they could about him and now we have decided to play a game.
The name of the game was Left, Right, Drink. But we changed the rules a little bit. Instead of only being a drinking game we decided to add in Truth or Dare questions. So the rules were we go in a clockwise rotation and one person rolls the dice. If they roll one they ask the person to their left a truth or date, if they don't want to answer the truth or do the dare then they drink. Roll a two, same thing happens to the person on your right and so on.
"I'll start." says Riley, kicking off the game with a dare for Harrison to do a pole dance without the pole to the song S&M by Rihanna. Harrison does the dare and we all laugh until we cry and the games continue like that. Most of the truth or dares being answered and the occasional drink to which we all boo.
"I dare you to get Lei to moan in 45 seconds." I am brought back to attention and I look at Adrian who smirks back at me. I look at Noah and he looks straight at me. I am burning up.
This is not good for my health.
"Uh, no. This is not a valid dare. I veto it."
"You don't have veto power." Riley says and she pinches me as I open my mouth to argue with her. She gives me a look and all eyes are on Noah, including mine.
"So, Noah, do you think you can do it?" Adrian asks him and Noah gives him a glance.
"Yeah, no problem." I open my mouth then close it. My brain is going over a hundred miles an hour. I feel like I'm stuck in a fire and I'm glued to my seat. Noah stands up from across the room and he walks towards me. Every step is in slow motion and with every step I feel my heart beat rapidly increasing.
He stops when he's directly in front of me and crouches down. He puts his hands on my thighs and looks straight into my eyes. His forest green eyes search through mine, but I don't know what they look for. He leans in closer to me and his eyes run from my eyes to my lips and back. I glance at his lips, his lips that are calling to me. But no, I will not let him win this easily. He takes me by surprise and kisses my neck, I close my eyes at the contact. He kisses up my neck and the burning fire follows his touch. I let my hands tug his hair and I feel him smile against my skin but he doesn't let up. He kisses behind my ear and I hear someone in the distance say, "Time."
He leans away from me, smiling. He squeezes my thighs another time before walking back to his seat and my eyes don't leave him. When he turns back we make eye contact and he winks.
"You owe me 10 dollars," Adrian says to Spencer who begrudgingly hands him a 10 dollar bill and glares at me.
"I thought he wouldn't be able to do it." Spencer says, Noah bops him in the head with a grin on his face and I-
"Wait a second, I didn't moan!" I argue and everyone at the table stares at me as if I grew two heads.
"Yes, you did." Harrison says and Alexa nods along with him. Everyone else nodding in agreement.
"No. I didn't. Are you guys kidding?" I look around at their serious faces and I groan. Noah laughs across the table, "You're telling me that you didn't even hear yourself moan?"
"No, I didn't." I huff in frustration and everyone joins in with Noah's laughter, everyone except one person, who sits to the left of me.
Once everyone calms down Noah looks at me and he has a twinkle in his eye. I still feel the heat from where he touched me with his lips and his hands. I stare back, challenging him to look away first.
"I know another way to make you moan." He says loudly and everyone goes silent, waiting for him to tell me another way.
"What's another way?" I ask sarcastically, crossing my arms and narrowing my eyes at him. The devil on my shoulder begs me to ask him to do it again.
"Just cook you a waffle." He says simply.
