As you probably know, summers in Gravity Falls are incredibly hot. And today was the HOTEST day of the summer. Even for me and I'm literally made of fire!!! We were all in the in living room laying down bored and sweaty doing absolutely nothing.

News Reporter(Toby): *tv* Watch out, Gravity Falls, because at 110 degrees we're looking at the hottest day of the summer!!!

Dipper: All in favor of doing nothing all day say "Uhg....!!!"

You, Dipper, Mabel, Soos, and Stan: Uhg....!!!

Waddles: *walks to Stan*

Stan: I'm gonna throw this pig out of the house!!!

Waddles: *licks Stan's cheek*

Stan: You called my bluff, pig.

News Reposter: On the bright side, pun very much intended, it's opening week at the Gravity Falls pool!!!

Mabel: Gravity Falls pool?!?

You: Opening week?!?

Dipper: Today?!?

Soos: Pun intended?!?

Stan: Quick, to the car!!!

You, Dipper, Mabel, and Soos: *stand up*

Stan: *tries to get up but gets stuck on the floor because of his sweat* Hey kids, a little help here.

You, Dipper, and Mabel: *each take out a spatula and start getting Stan out of the floor*

Stan: *gets up with pieces of wood still on his back* Alright, off to the pool! *goes outside*

News Reporter: And remember to be on alert for random wildfires!

Stan: *outside* Wait, wha-? AHHH!!!

You, Dipper, Mabel, and Soos: ...

Mabel: He'll be fine.

I had to!!! I love designing swimwear for some reason, don't judge me!!! Anyways, that's your swimsuit! If you don't like it, change it, I don't mind. Anyways...

Shortly after, we got dressed and made our way to the pool. I've been here a couple of times, and I usually spend it with a friend of mine, so now I was kinda glad to spend it with the twins.

Mabel: Ah, the pool! Sparkling oasis of summer enchantment!

Stan: Yeah, nothing like sitting in a moist tub with strangers. I like the bus but wet.

Dipper: *looking at Soos's towel* Why would a sun need to wear sunglasses?

Soos: It's best not to think about it.

Mabel: Woah, woah, woah!!! Stop the presses!!! Who's that?!? *points at a guy in a pool with dark skin and long dark brown hair*

Soos: Oh yeah, word says dude never leaves the pool! People say he's a mysterious loner.

Mabel: ...is it getting hot in here or is it just that guy...?!?!?

You: It's the hottest day of the year, Mabel.

Dipper: Besides, can't you go for one week without having a new crush on some random guy?

Mabel: *shakes her head* Uh-uh! *gasp* Look at his little mustache hairs!!!

Soos: You are clearly enamored. Go to him.

Mabel: *runs off bumping and crashing into many things on her way*

You: *snort and laugh*

Soos: So beautiful...!!!

Dipper: Eh, Mabel's all talk. Wanna know a secret? She's never even kissed a guy before. She always messes it up somehow.

You: I'm guessing you haven't either. That is, except the one at the party when we-~!

Dipper: *elbows you while glaring and blushing*

You: *snickers*

Stan: Oi, women. *gets hit by a water balloon*

Wendy: *from the lifeguard share* Hey, Mr. Pines!!!

Stan: Wendy? Where's the life guard?

Wendy: I am the life guard! I make the rules sucka!!! *throws a water balloon at Stan* Boosh!!!!

Stan: Ah, she's attacking me with water!!! *runs away*

You, Dipper, and Stan: *laughs*

Dipper: Wow, you work here?

Wendy: I found out lifeguards get free snack privileges! Plus I get the best seat in the house!!!

Dipper: Yeah you do!!! *laughs for an awkward amount of time, then whispers to himself* I've been laughing for too long...!

Soos: Dude, are you and Wendy having a secret starring contest because I think your winning.

Dipper: *pushes Soos away and whispers* Soos, shhhhh!

Wendy: *stares at Dipper confused*

Dipper: So hey, you want to shuck more water balloons at Grunkle Stan?

Wendy: I'd love to, but I got to spend the day doing tryouts. We're looking for a new assistant lifeguard!

Dipper: Hey- *clears his throat and speaks in a deeper voice* Hey, *normal voice* what if I was assistant lifeguard?

Wendy: That would be so much fun!!! You're totally in!!! *throws a rescue can at Dipper who catches it* You just have to check in with my boss first, Mr. Poolcheck.

Dipper: Y-your boss? *looks at a man who starts doing push-ups with his second finger, then stares at Dipper*

You: Yikes. I see Mr. Poolcheck hasn't changed one bit since last time I came.

???: *walks over* Yep, he's still as weird as last year.

I look next to me to see a guy with very light, almost platinum, blonde short hair, light skin, and light blue eyes, the freckles above his nose standing out. He had a wide smile and his eyes as bright as I remembered.

You: Aiden?!?

Aiden: Hi (y/n)!

You: *hug him tightly as he hugs you back* What are you doing here?!?

Aiden: *pulls away* You know I always come for the summer!

You: *laugh*

Dipper: *clears his throat*

You: Oh! Pine, this is Aiden! He's an old friend of mine!

Aiden: *offers to shake Dipper's hand* Nice to meet you!

Dipper: *shakes Aiden's hand, a small glare towards him* Yeah... *pulls his hand away*

You: This is Dipper, my friend/roommate!

Aiden: Roommate?!? You live in a house now?!?

You: My life has changed quite a lot since you last saw me~!

Aiden: Then we have a lot to talk about~!

You: Guess we do~! Pine, I wish you luck with Wendy, but Aiden and I have to catch up. See ya!

You and Aiden: *walk away talking*

Dipper's POV

As we talked to Wendy, some guy came to us. (y/n) immediately recognized him and hugged him. Something inside me felt... wrong. Like a large pit of anger in my chest. I tried to be nice to this 'Aiden' anyways. They ended up walking to the other side of the pool.

Wendy: So are you gonna try out?!?

Dipper: Uh- yeah yeah, yeah, I'll go right now! *glances at you and Aiden before going to Mr. Poolcheck*

Your POV

It had been hours of me and Aiden talking. I really did miss him. The day seemed to pass by, but we decided to meet each other here again the next day.

Dipper's POV

I ended up getting the job and spent the whole day with Wendy. But as much as I tried to ignore it, the sinking feeling wouldn't leave. Were (y/n) and Aiden flirting?!? Wait, why do I care?!? She's aloud to date anyone she wants! And yet, the thought of it just makes me feel... angry...

Mr. Poolcheck announced the pool closing and we all went back home. That night, I was in my room with Mabel as (y/n) took a shower.

Dipper: *anxiously biting his pain*

Mabel: What's wrong, bro bro? You've been acting weird all day!

Dipper: Mabel, you saw (y/n)'s friend, right?

Mabel: You mean Aiden? Yeah, he's really cool! And really cute too!

Dipper: Well, I don't trust him. Don't you think it's weird how he just appeared out of nowhere and dragged (y/n) away?

Mabel: Not really. *smirks* Maybe you're just jealous~?

Dipper: Psh, jealous? Why would I be jealous?

Mabel: Maybe because you like her~?!?

Dipper: *blushes a bit before sitting up* Me?!? Liking (y/n)?!? Pfft, no way!!! Of course I don't like her like that!!!

Mabel: Then why are you getting angry over some guy she's talking to~?

Dipper: I- Well- She- He- I-I'm just worrying for my friend!!!

Mabel: Yeah right~!

???: *land on Dipper's head* What are we talking about?

Dipper: AH!!!

You: *fly and land next to Dipper* Whoa, jumpy now, are we? *turn human* What's going on~?

Dipper: N-n-nothing!!! Nothing's going on!!!

Mabel: We were just talking about random things.

You: *lean closer to Dipper* Really~?

Dipper: *leans away and looks away* Stop it.

You: *lean away laughing*

Mabel: So (y/n), what's up with you and that Aiden guy~?

You: He's an old friend, if that's what you're asking.

Dipper: Just friends...?

You: Uh, yeah. He's just my all time bestie! I've known him for years. He always comes here for about one week on summer and another on winter.

Mabel: Anyways, I have to go- uh- do something downstairs!!! Bye!!! *leaves*

You: Welp, I'm going to bed. *fall face first unto your bed/mattress*

Dipper: *looking at his hands*

You: *look at Dipper* You sure you're ok, Pine?

Dipper: Y-yeah, I'm ok...

Your POV

That's... strange... Anyways, he next day I spend it again with Aiden. At the time, we were sitting on the pool ledge talking about random things when out of the blue...

Aiden: So, what is the deal with you and that guy Dipper~?

You: What are you talking about?

Aiden: It's just that you two seem a bit... closer than 'friends'.

You: Cuz we're close friends.

Aiden: You know what I mean~

You: *chuckles* You're insane.

Aiden: I know romance when I see it~

You: Psh, yeah right. As if. Pine's only a friend to me.

Aiden: How often do you tease him~?

You: Very frequently? But I tease everyone!

Aiden: Mostly Dipper~

You: It's fun to do so.

Aiden: Yeah, right. I bet you're just dying to grab his face and have the most romantic night of your life~

You: *blush and push him into the pull* Shut up!

Aiden: *pops out of the water and laughs*

You: That's not true!

Aiden: Honey, you know I'm right!

Dipper's POV

Just like yesterday, I couldn't stop thinking about (y/n) and that Aiden. What was wrong with me?!? I tried to ignore it and just spend time with Wendy like I wanted, but the feeling just wouldn't live.

You: What up, Pine?

Dipper: AH-! Oh, h-hey (y/n)!

You: You seem stressed. Did Mr. Poolcheck finally get to you?

Dipper: No, I'm fine.

You: Ok then?

Dipper: So... shouldn't you be with Aiden?

You: He left early, his sister invited him to hang out. Why are you asking?

Dipper: Right......................

Your POV

I could tell Dipper was annoyed for some reason, and that it had to do with Aiden. That night I was in my room alone minding my own business. Dipper was at the pool because of his new job and Mabel was downstairs when...

Mabel: *enters* Hey (y/n)!!!

You: Hi M.

Mabel: Get ready, we're going to the pool!!!

You: What?

Mabel: C'mon, hurry!!!

You: Mabel, it's pitch black outside, why do you want to go to the pool this late?

Mabel: I need your help with something, it's really important!!!!!!!!!

You: ... *sigh* Alright. Let's go.

Mabel: Yay!!!

Mabel explained how the guy she met, Mermando, was a merman and she needed help getting him back to his home. We had to sneak past Dipper, which was unsurprisingly easy.

Mabel: *whispers* Hey Mermando, this is my friend (y/n), she's gonna help me help you!

Mermando: *whispers* It is good to meet you, (y/n).

You: *whisper* You too.

Mabel: *unlocks the supply door and whispers* Are you ready to see your family?

Mermando: *whispers* Yes, but how can I, a merman, possibly escape?

Mabel: *whispers* Ok, my original plan was to tape together a bunch of fish sticks to make you a prosthetic pair of people legs.

Mermando: *whispers* Intriguing!

Mabel: *take out the cooler, open it, put it on the golf cart, start to feel it with water, and whispers* But then
(y/n) had a much better idea!

Mermando: *jumps out of the pool, wobbles around for a few seconds, and lands on the cooler*

You and Mabel: *high five*

Dipper: Hey, who's there?!?

You: Uh-oh.

Mermando: *whispers* Quick, hide me!!! My kind must not be seen!!!

Mabel: *closes the cooler*

Dipper: *flashes his flashlight at you and Mabel* Girls?!? Is there anyone not breaking into the pool tonight?!? What, is Soos here too?!?

Soos: *climbs into the pool area and falls* I'm ok.

Dipper: Go home, Soos!

Soos: You got it! *tries to climb back out*

Dipper: So, why are you two here?!?

Mabel: Uh... no reason!

Mermando: *clears his throat*

Dipper: Did that cooler just clear its throat...?

Mabel: Don't be silly, there isn't a merman in there if that's what you're implying! Who said anything about a merman?!?

Dipper: Mabel, I don't have time for your games!!! If you don't give me those supplies, I'll loose the coolest job ever!!!

You: Psh, coolest job ever.

Mabel: *sigh* I understand...

You: ... *point behind Dipper* Hey look!!! Wendy in a bikini!!!

Dipper: *turns around* Really?!? At night?!?

You: *get in the golf cart with Mabel* Sorry, Pine!!! *drive away*

Mabel: We're gonna get you home!!! *gasps as a water balloon hits the cooler*

Dipper: *driving the car behind you and speaks with a megaphone* Hand over the pool supplies in the name of pool law!!!

Mabel: Pool law is dumb!!! And so is your hat!!! *dodges a water balloon*

Dipper: *throws many water balloons*

You: *drive the car in zig zags to avoid the water balloons*

Mabel: Look, Gravity Falls lake!!!

You: *turn right*

We were almost at the lake when Dipper threw one last water balloon which hit the plug of the cooler making it loose the water inside. I roughly pushed the breaks when I saw the sign which sent us flying off the golf cart including the cooler with Mermando inside. Dipper stops in surprise and runs to us.

You: Whoa, talk about a rough landing. You ok?

Mabel: Yeah, I'm fine!

Dipper: Alright, the jig is up!!! Hand over that cooler!!!

Mabel: *clutches the cooler* Never!!!

Dipper: Why not?!? Why do you even need it?!?

Mabel: *looks at you in worry*

You: *shrug with an apologetic frown*

Mabel: *looks back at Dipper* I needed the cooler to save my new friend because he need to go home and he's really nice and we combed each others' hairs and he needs to be in the cooler because he breathes water because he's a merman!!! *opens the cooler which causes Mermando to spin out*

Mermando: Hola.

Dipper: Woah, way to burry the lead, Mabel...

Mabel: Dipper, Mermando the merman, he's a merman.

Mermando: Nice to meet you. Also, I think I am dying. *starts to run out of water* Water! ¡Agua! ¡Yo necesito!

Mabel: Oh no, Mermando!!! Dipper, you're a lifeguard, give him CPR!!!

Dipper: Mermen don't breathe air!!!

Mabel: Then give him reverse CPR, doy!!!

Dipper ended up giving Mermando water CPR. I had to take a picture. Anyways, after that...

Mermando: *inhales* Thank you, but why didn't you just throw me into the lake?

You: *snort and laugh your guts out*

Dipper: *face palm*

You and Mabel: *carry Mermando and throw him into the lake*

Mermando: *tries to dolphin call, but coughs* I am weak from coughing! How will I get my family to hear my calls from the mighty depths of the ocean?

Mabel: I've got it, brb! *runs to the golf cart and gets the megaphone, then comes back* Problem solves!!!

Dipper: *takes the megaphone* Mabel, those are pool supplies, I'll get fired!

Mabel: Dipper, don't you know what's it's like to fall for someone even though you know in your heart that it'll probably never work out but you'd do anything for that person?

Dipper: *thinks for a bit as he looks at his feet in shame, then back at Mabel* Give Mermando the megaphone...

Mabel: Thanks, Dip. *throws the megaphone at Mermando who catches it*

Mermando: Mabel, I have never met anyone like you.

Mabel: Same here. Except for a zombie, a gnome, and a couple of cute vampires.

You: Vampires?

Dipper: I don't remember the vampires.

Mabel: I don't tell you guys everything. Well, Mermando, I guess this is it.

Mermando: Not quite, this is! *jumps from the water and kisses Mabel*

Dipper: *turns around* Woah ok, that's gross!

Mermando: *pulls away*

Mabel: Wohoho!!! That was my first kiss!!! *pokes Dipper* Hey, it was also kind of your first kiss to, huh~?!?

You: *laugh* Oh if you only knew if you only knew.

Dipper: *elbows you*

Mabel: *holds Mermando's hand* Goodbye, Mermando.

Mermando: Goodbye, Mabel. *swims away*

You: *put your hand on Dipper's shoulder* You did the right thing, Pine.

Dipper: Yeah yeah.

Mabel: Oh, wait wait!!! One last thing!!!

Mabel runs to some rocks where she does a heroic pose and Mermando jumps about them. Me and Dipper laugh, Mabel soon joining. We all went back to the pool which was completely destroyed. Mr. Poolcheck immediately dragged Dipper away. Fortunately, he was only fired and not killed.

You: Hey, you ok?

Dipper: Yeah it's fine. The job was a little boring anyways.

You: I'm still surprised you lasted so long.

Dipper: *playfully punches your arm* Hey!

You and Dipper: *laugh, then remember the things Aiden and Mabel said earlier and blush a bit*

What?!? Why was I feeling this way?!? I began to think of what Aiden said:

Dipper's POV
