It's finally time for our weekend trip to Egmont Key, I can't wait to explore the Village Of Legends with my friends and then go rock climbing. The Village of Legends earned its mythical name due to its fall from a rain of a thousand arrows. Leaving an empty village in its wake with no sign of life other than the scorch marks on the walls and the oversized red and orange feathers behind. Littering the ground were dozens of charms on cords each charm unique. Many charms were found but two charms stood out a one a small feather-like charm that resembled the feathers left at the scene of the disaster and the other was a flat stone that resembled a scale.

As we walked through the ruins every wall held the charms of those who fled on the fateful day and I know what those charms mean they were the symbols of the Shifters my family and fellow Phoenix's just like the scale charm was the symbol of the dragon shifters we are still hunted today because we are the rightful rulers of the Shifters.

Most Phoenix and Dragon Shifters are slaughtered before the age of teen I'm extremely lucky to have survived for 16 years, but how much longer will I survive? Will the hunters kill me tomorrow and be able to claim that they slaughtered " Lynn the Phoenix Survivor"?

After exploring the ruins our group decided to start heading towards the cliffs to go rock climbing. The group consisted of Elaine, Lillian, Jack, Michael, and Blake. I'm thankful I was able to choose my group so I could safely keep an eye on my friends who have yet to learn their Shifter bloodline especially Blake. Even though I know the hunters refuse to return to this island they know it's here they know that some shifters got away and every time one was relocated meant the end for them.

As we put on our safety harnesses before descending down the cliffside to explore the hidden caverns that have been long forgotten until recently, I'm suddenly filled with a sense of dread and fear. What do I have to fear other than the hunters I can fly so heights have never bothered me so why was my stomach in knots? Little by little my friends and I work our way down towards the cave entrance we stop to gaze at the drawings of magnificent Phoenixes and Dragons soaring through the sky with no worries. All of a sudden the rope on my safety harness snaps sending me plummeting towards the rocks below. Time froze as I stared at my friends terrified faces everything froze I couldn't transform fear filled me as I realize without me the Phoenixes would be lost forever.

Blake's POV

My worst fear is happening right in front of me the one person I love but am far too shy to tell is plummeting to her death and I can't do anything. Her pleas for help and the pain in her voice makes me burn. I can't lose her she's my world whether she knows it or not. I WON'T LOSE HER!!! Images flashed through my head telling my body what to do, what I was doing I had no idea but I know something filled me with a burning fire and before I knew it I was free of my harness but I wasn't falling. In seconds I was plunging towards Lynn with only one thought. I must save her. When I felt her cool skin against my " scales??????" I knew she was finally safe I wasn't going to lose her today. As I brought her body to the safety of the caves where our friends were waiting for a miracle. I was met with the terrified eyes of my friends because they saw a monster I wasn't Blake I was a dragon with dark blue scales that shimmered when light hit them just right. I never thought I would be a Shifter let alone a Twilight Dragon I shouldn't even exist anymore Twilight dragons should have been hunted into extinction.

Lynn's body began to burn but instead of the Lynn I knew and saved a young Phoenix laid in front of me burning the colors of the sunrise. How could this be possible we shouldn't exist or at least anymore? Why do I feel so drawn this place.
