TPA 3: Motorcycle

"HELLO, miss." The tallest teenager greeted her. She simply smiled and nodded but did not answer.

"Is this yours?" Asked the shorter and stouter teenager. Again, she nods. She didn't say the word.

"You have one of the coolest bikes I've ever seen." Said the youngest of the four. His eyes were wide open, excitement and admiration were written all over his face. Maine smiled.

"Utoy, remember that magazine we were reading a few days ago? It was about that girl from another country?" The skinnier teenager prompted the Utoy kid.

"Yeah. Yeah. Yeah." Utoy replied. "I remember that, Egay." Utoy replied excitedly.

"Is that the one who won every motocross race there is a few years back?" Egay butted in. "You know what nobody knows how she looks but her motorcycle? Whew!" He added, whistling. Maine got their attention.

"Yeah. That one." Utoy gleefully replied. "The bike looks exactly like this." Maine stared at them, not surprise but astonished.

It is amazing how the event that happened maybe before they even knew how to read or were born, is known to them. She was jus hoping not to be recognized as The One.

"Kuya Utoy, how is that possible? Don't they take their helmets off during the awarding ceremony?" The little kid asked.

"They should, but this one didn't." Utoy replied looking at the kid.

"Liit, anybody can do whatever they want and that's why that girl is cool." Egay said with pride.

"Hmp! If it was me, I would let the world see my good looks." Liit proudly said. Maine smiled and was sucked into their conversations and not realizing that her bike was being hauled by the other teenagers.

She was standing facing the three that she forgot that there is another kid with them. She let her guard down by facing the three and turning her back away from the one.

As she turned around, her attention was called by one of the kids.

"Miss Beautiful, who taught you how to ride a bike like this one?" It was Egay who asked.

"No one." Her simple and short answer. Utoy was the first to run the other direction. Then followed by Egay and Liit the other way.

Maine shook her head but was dismayed and pissed to find the fourth kid took off with her bike.

She took a deep breath and started her pursuit of the fourth kid. He turned to the building behind the parking lot. She followed him. He went under the building's parking bay and disappeared. Maine stepped back a bit, she looked up to assess the area.

Maine looked around to see where she can go up or climb to get to the kid who was dragging her bike. She got so excited to see a working lift on the side by the other stair.

The lift's door closes before she could get to it. Since there is not much of a cover on the lift, she backed up and ran as fast as he could then jump to hold on the railing of the lift.

Luckily, she is so tiny and light that she was able to lift herself up using her upper body strength.

She clung onto that bar like there is no tomorrow till the lift stopped on the third floor. She stood up and looked out at the hallway.

She saw the kid pushing the bike calmly and carefully. She smiled. She doesn't know why but it made her smile.

"Hey!" She yelled out from where she was. The young man turned around and was surprised to see her.

He got rattled seeing her right behind him that he let go of the bike. It fell on it's side to the cemented floor of the third floor hallway. Maine heard the sound of a broken glass and just winced heavily. There goes the scratches and broken headlight.

When she opened her eyes, the kid was already on his way to the end of the building by the other stairs. All of a sudden the three other teenagers showed up to confuse her and divide her attention. It almost worked if not only she's used to it.

"Hey! Stop!" She yelled trying to dodge the punch from Utoy.

"Egay! Block her! Don't let her get to Alvin!" Utoy commanded.

Then came Egay rushing next to her, Liit hot on his trail. She doesn't want to hurt any of them coz they are just kids, so she uses her immobilizing techniques to slow Egay and Liit down and eventually temporarily lose their consciousness.

She successfully immobilized the teenagers, all she needs to get to are the two others. Before she could move an inch, something caught her attention at the corner of her eyes. She quickly glanced at it... the firemen. They are all standing right in front of their building, watching the whole thing.

"Can you help?!" She called out to them but they just stared at her, shocked or dumbfounded, like they have never seen something like this before.

She didn't want to get upset since she needs to focus, but it's completely pissing her off. What they are doing right now is so uncalled for. She needed their help but they just stood there. Where's the urgency?a And they call themselves firefighters? Her mind asked, so she shouted at them.

"And you call yourselves firemen?!" She was so irate and enraged. She turns away to face what's making her agitated.

Fueled by anger, her adrenaline soared up more. She focused her attention to get a hold of the last two teenagers that is making her day a living hell.

She saw Utoy made a quick side step to hide, she smiled. This is the chance she's waiting for.

As she gets a lot closer, she saw the tip of Utoy's shoe showing on the floor behind the wall, which she hoped to be the stair. Amateur!

Utoy made his move to grab Maine but Maine was quicker. She turned and flipped Utoy to ground, who is clearly not experienced in hand to hand combat but just plain braul punch, Maine focused on rendering this boy a short term consciousness by using her elbow to strike Utoy at the back of his neck, his nape. And she did. Utoy fell on the ground cold, unconscious.

She then ran to follow the direction the other kid, whom Utoy called Alvin, gone to. He went up the stairs, she did, too.

There was a blockage on the fourth floor and there's no way he could go that way unless he decided to climb up on the side on that bannister which is made of, which looks like a 3 or 4 inches metal pipes and an eighth of an inch thick metal sheet, cut in strips, largely criss-crossed to prevent something or someone from falling over.

Her next thought that maybe he's on the fifth floor. She proceeded to climb up one more floor and there he was, trying to crouch down behind a tore up couch. She pretended not to see him. He jumped on Maine to surprise her but to Alvin's surprise, Maine got a hold of his wrist and was about to twist it behind him when he put all his weight on her and pushed her backward. She was sandwiched between Alvin and the wall. She felt a twinge of pain on her shoulder blade as she hit the cement wall.

He was able to get out of Maine's grip and ran back down the stairs to the fourth floor. Maine tried to see where he was going. She stretched her back and shoulder really quick and chased after Alvin.

"You are one hard kid to capture!" She murmured between gritted teeth. Now, she is beyond angry, she's furious.

She got back to the fourth floor and saw Alvin trying to get through the blockage.

"Alvin, you need to get down." She asked calmly.

"No! I won't. You will kill me!" She was shocked at what he said.

"Who said I am going to kill you?!" She is confused as to where Alvin got the idea that she will harm him, let alone kill him.

"You killed my friends!" He said almost in tears. She felt a hand grab her heart and squeezed it so hard, she can't breathe.

"Alvin, I didn't kill your friends." She quickly said but calmly. "I just immobilized them. They are just unconscious. They'll be up in a few moments." Alvin turned to her with tears in his eyes. He's still on top of that bannister. A small wrong move will him fall off and the result will be ugly.

"You didn't?" He asked. Maine sensed that no matter how tall this kid is, he is still a kid.

"No, I didn't. I couldn't. I won't." She said. She took a step closer but stopped right away. She doesn't want to rattle him now that he is on top in the 4-inch metal pipe and is only holding on to a quarter inch nylon rope that hold all crates and boxes that are blocking the abandoned fourth floor.

"I don't believe you." Alvin said which made Maine stared at him.

"I am not going to force you to believe me. I just want you to get down from there and give me back my bike, that's all. Why did you take it anyway?" Maine was trying to make a small conversation. She wants him to relax so she can grab him away from the bannister. There's nothing to catch the kid from where he was at.

"I just wanted to ride it and feel how it is. I alway see it on a magazine but my mom couldn't afford to buy me one." She felt the kid in him. Maine's heart fell for him.

"You could've just asked me instead of taking it. Do you think that would make you feel good after?" She asked lovingly. "Come on, get down there. You are endangering your life standing there." Alvin looked down after Maine said that. He pulled himself a little closer to the boxes. Maine knew right there and then, that Alvin's adrenaline wore off.

"Oh crap!" Alvin uttered. He is scared now. He couldn't believe that he did what he did and ended up here on the bannister.

"Be careful. Don't move quickly, I'll call for help." She manages to say it really fast before he makes another move. She looks over to see who's down below.

She finally saw a few of the firemen moving about. They may have seen the urgency of the matter that now they decided to move. If she is going to work in this firehouse or post, she will make sure that everybody will see everything with importance. She will make sure that the firemen will eat and sleep emergency.

Maine saw a couple of them getting out a big trampoline to catch Alvin. She saw one is opening up the garage and one truck was slowly coming out when Alvin made a wrong move.

The rope snapped and broke. He lost his balance and it was too late for Maine to grab him. Alvin plunged to the ground at full speed and into his death. Everyone could gasp in horror. Maine could only pray for a miracle.
