"Yes, I am." Amber replied, her eyes pouring into his with obvious attraction. "And you are?"
"Jason." He answered, sitting down. Already he regretted even entering this place. He decided to stay here for a while and see how the night ends up before making judgements about someone he didn't even know. "How are you?"
"I'm fine." Amber replied. "Honestly I was kind of worried that you wouldn't show up. My cousin told me that he offered you a dinner date with a girl for free. Most guys reject the offer, but I'm glad that you didn't."
Jason's eyes widened. She talked, a lot. "Yeah, he told me that it would be a good idea." Jason lied. He figured that Amber didn't know of the deal Alexander bargained, so he just lied and said something believable.
"So," Amber grinned, showing off her pearly white teeth. "What are you ordering?"
"Well, since all of this is payed for, we might as well get anything we want." Jason suggesested, looking in the fancy menu for anything eye-catching. Amber giggled and looked into her own menu.
"Ooh, the shrimp meal thingy sounds nice." Amber gushed. Jason couldn't help but compare her to Eliza. Amber seemed to be a talkative girl who liked to giggle and laugh a lot. Frankly, she seemed a bit unintelligent as well, but Jason ignored that flaw.
Eliza, on the other hand, was quiet and reserved. Her personality was bright and exciting, something that never disappointed Jason. She was carefree, and loved to flirt a little bit, and was always smiling.
Jason knew that Amber was no where near his standards, but he had to somehow keep his promise to Eliza. 'To meet more people,' He thought dryly. And besides, who knows, he might even live a better life with this offer Alexander had gave him.
"The shrimp sounds nice," Jason agreed. "I'm ordering the steak." Amber nodded and kept on looking for more food until a waitress came to their table.
"Hi, I'm Carol, your waitress for the evening. What are you guys ordering?" She asked, her hand ready to write.
"I'll have the steak, well done please, and she will have..." Jason trailed off.
"The shrimp with pasta." Amber finished, smiling at Jason. Oddly enough her smile wasn't as bright and carefree like Eliza's was. 'I have got to stop thinking about her. She might not be coming back, and I need to move on.' Jason told himself. For the rest of the night he erased any thoughts of the brunette with the carefree smile and focused on the girl who lacked in comparison. Sure, it was harsh, but it was the only way to forget and focus on more important things.

The next day, Jason woke up late. It was 8:00 AM and he had to be at his job at 7:00 AM.
"Fuck!" Jason cursed, rushing out of bed. He took a shower in less than two minutes and dressed as quickly as the speed of light. He didn't bother combing his hair, either. Rushing into his car instead of walking, like he usually did, he sped to his job.
At a red light, Jason checked his phone and realized he had a text message from Alexander. Frowning, he opened the message and read its contents.
'No need to go to work anymore, Jason. I've sent you $10,000 to your home. It's on your kitchen.'
"What the fuck?" Jason exclaimed, ignoring the honks of the cars behind him.
'Are you serious?' Jason typed.
'Of course. I told you to go out with the girl, and you did. All that's left is for you to ask her out. If you do, the amount of money will be even larger.' Alexander had said. Dumbstruck, Jason did a u-turn and drove back to his house, not believing him one bit.
He entered his home with suspicion and looked on the counter. It was a small black duffle bag. Warily, Jason opened the bag and found hundreds of dollars, stacked, calling his name.
'All that's left for you to do is to ask her out. If you do, the amount of money will be even larger.'

MEANWHILE IN PARIS...
---
Eliza was walking in one of the many parks in Paris, alone. She was observing everything, or more specifically all of the couples. What they said was true. Paris truly was the city of love.
'Then how come I'm not finding anyone?' Eliza thought helplessly. 'Im pretty sure Jason has already found someone by now. He probably forgot about me, like he did all of those years ago.'
Deep down she knew that she was wrong. Eliza didn't have any solid proof, but somehow she knew that Jason wouldn't move on for a long time. She only told him to find someone because she thought that she was useless and didn't deserve someone as perfect as him.
So far Eliza hasn't made any type of relationship in her month in Paris. She figured she would find someone to talk to, besides her parents, but she had no luck so far.
Sighing, Eliza sat down on the only empty seat in the park and stared at the sky, and the clouds. She didn't realize it, but someone had sat down next to her. She payed no mind and continued staring at the sky.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" A deep voice had said softly. Eliza looked at the guy next to her and nodded, trying not to drool on how handsome he was, and how alluring his accent was. "My name is Chase. What is a beautiful woman like you doing here alone?"
Eliza blushed. 'He called me a woman!'
"Well, I didn't know what to do, so I came here." Eliza answered shyly.
"You didn't bring your boyfriend?" Chase asked. She knew what he was doing. He wanted to know if she had a boyfriend or not.
"No, I don't have one." Eliza answered, avoiding his excited gaze and staring back at the beautiful sky. "Where's your girlfriend? Surely she wouldn't leave you here, all by yourself."
"She did, actually." Chase grinned as Eliza's hopes went down. He was taken! "She went to go use the bathroom, so I decided to have a chat with you."
"Oh," Eliza blushed again, biting her lip.
"I'm kidding," Chase told her, smirking. Eliza laughed. 'Was this the person that she finally found for herself in Paris? ...Maybe.' She thought excitedly.
"I'm Eliza." She introduced herself. She looked into Chase's blue eyes and thought of Jason's. They were dark brown, no where near the color of Chase's bright blue ones. 'Stop thinking about Jason and keep on talking to chase!' Eliza scolded herself.
"Eliza," Chase tested out the name. "It's the perfect name for you. Say, Eliza, what are you doing later on?"
"Well I was going to watch some movies..." She trailed off, blushing. She somehow liked it that Chase thought the name fit her. "Do you want to join me?"
"I have nothing else to do, so yes." Chase answered, smirking. He stood and grabbed her hand, interlocking it with his. "Shall we?"
Eliza nodded and squeezed his hand tightly. She couldn't believe it.
'Am I finally moving on from Jason? After all this time, will I finally be able to forget about him?'
Deep down Eliza didn't want to, but she didn't admit that of course.
---
Jason somehow, somewhere felt guilty. He was taking money from someone he did not know. What if the money was illegal? He could get in to some serious trouble with the police and his parents. Even Eliza, if she found out. She might think of him differently, and Jason did not like that.
Jason closed the duffle bag and pulled out his phone, beginning to write a text message to Alexander.
'Meet me in the park in five.'
'Hmm, and what do I get out of this?' Alexander replied.
Jason's jaw clenched as he wrote another message. '$10,000. If not then I will throw it in the pond until someone takes it.'
When the message sent, Jason's phone rang. It was Alexander.
"Now, Jason. Don't make me regret my decision of giving you the money." Alexander's voice practically growled through the phone. "It's ten thousand dollars, who would be stupid enough to throw that out?"
"I'm not saying it again, Alexander." Jason replied calmly. "Meet me at the park in five minutes or this money gets thrown." Before he could reply Jason closed his phone and shoved it in his pocket. He received a text message but ignored it, knowing that it was Alexander.
Jason wanted to get some things straight with Alexander. Why did he give him that much money? Where did he get the money from? Was the money fake, or real? Why did he want to help him, anyways?
Those questions and a whole lot more were flowing throughout Jason's mind the moment he met Alexander on Friday.
Today he was going to get answers from Alexander. Jason was even thinking of resorting to violence if he didn't get any answers from him, because he knew that just by burning Alexander's precious money wouldn't do anything. Jason knew that he had more money than most people should.
Walking out of the house with the duffle bag, Jason sped to the park, walking as quickly as he could. His cell phone vibrated in his pocket, again. Sighing, Jason took out his cell phone and read the two messages.
(1/2): Don't try anything stupid with me, Jason.
(2/2): I might me one or two minutes late, I'm coming there as quickly as possible.
Jason typed up a reply: 'Meet me at the pond.'
