Still His Wife!
It was evening and Meera and I were done with resting though we were still jet lagged. Meera decided to take up a meeting but then I suggested her to go out for a ride if she wanted or just set back and enjoy the massages offered in this hotel.
She chose the latter and accompanied me to the car from where Mark and I headed to Shreyasi's house. After a one hour journey, we reached her place only after crossing Malhotra Empire Headquarters.
I didn't want to face it. Not even the gate and so I just turned my head away. After meeting Shreyasi and her parents, I felt like finally I was going to be okay. It wasn't that bad as an idea and I can get over some parts of everything related to my past but I was terribly wrong. My past was not going to leave me that easily. It is going to haunt each and every nerve ending of mine.
It was five hours since I had been out to meet Shreyasi and her family. The welcoming was awesome. We had chatted like dogs for three hours. I had my dinner there itself so I was already full.
It was ten at night when I returned and for me, that was late in Delhi because after that horrifying incident with Zara and me, I never kept late outside and the exceptions were always made with Arjun because I felt protected with him. It is not just an emotional connect but a factual thing about Arjun that he was a boxing champion and a karate black belt.
I was hell tiered and I wanted to just sleep and relax. The wedding functions were beginning from day after tomorrow and I still had a day in hand to prepare everything Indian style. I had attended a few Indian weddings outside India, the destination ones but I knew this wasn't just an Indian wedding but a big fat Indian wedding which was going to be a star studded affair since both Shreyasi and Veer are famous celebrities.
The moment I entered my suite and switched on the lights after putting the card in the main frame, my mind went blank and I stood there rooted like a plant in the hard black soil.
What the hell is this?
I was kind of shocked. The room was decorated with my favorite red roses and the bridge my nose wrinkled when the scent of those pretty roses filled my nostrils.
Am I in the right room? I wondered as I checked the room number once again and confirmed that this was my room only and someone had invaded my suite. This sent bolts of electrical shocks down my spine and all the hair on my body rose erect. The chilling waves of the centralised air conditioner confirmed that this room was in use for past whatever hours.
I slowly paced forward and entered the living area. I saw candles burning there...they seemed to look like freshly lit. I started getting hell scared and the moment I entered my bedroom, I saw the most beautiful yet the scariest decoration done. I started panting for breath and my hands started trembling as I reached for the intercom and dialed Meera's room number.
She didn't answer and that's when I dialed for the reception fearing there was someone suspicious in my room and certainly the person knew me because of my favorite flower choice.
Once I also thought it must be Meera but Meera isn't the kind of girl who would do such cheesy stuffs just to scare you. She is the most easy going person with the best wit and humour. She can't do anything like this. Had it been Mahira, I could have even given it a serious thought but I was sure it wasn't Mahira in any case since she doesn't even know if I am dead or alive.
"This is Amanda from the reception ma'am, how can I help you?" A lady's voice came from the receiver's end and I breathed a sigh.
"This is Amaya Vanishree from room number 1012. May I know if someone had an access to my room in past five hours?" I enquired formally. I firstly wanted to confirm that if the person had officially signed into my room.
"Umm...yes ma'am. We had your husband here at seven thirty," She checked and told me.
Husband? I am a fucking divorcee.
"I am a single woman. How can you allow a man inside my room on just this sole information that he's my husband without even thinking to confirm about it with me?" I rose my voice as raging arrows shot all inside my body and I felt like killing the receptionist for doing so.
"Sorry ma'am, I wasn't there at the reception then. I have a night duty and another male receptionist was here at that time," she clarified but I felt like sewing this hotel for doing this shit.
I don't even know if the man is still inside or if he has stolen anything...oh my god, he can be anyone. Even my enemy or rival.
"What kind of fucking five star is it. Commendable security this hotel has. I want all the details of the person right now and send for the secur-" a loud thud of something breaking by falling on the ground caught my attention.
The phone line got disconnected and I did my level best to connect to it because now I was scared as hell. My chest felt as if it would explode any moment and my body started sweating badly.
I was shivering and all my senses were snapped. I didn't want to move but I desperately wanted to escape. I swear I had never been this terrified in past six years.
The moment I felt I would collapse out of fear, I heard the knocks of someone's shoes. A male steps I inferred because of the clocking sound it made.
I hobbled my phone out of my bag and started dialing for Meera but then I saw the person that entered and it made my world turn upside down. My jaw dropped in shock and the grip on my phone loosened. I disconnected the call.
There stood the man who had once been only mine. His six feet tall frame and his jaw dropping hot body. Those perfectly gelled hair and the formal three piece get up. His sharp, well defined jaw line with a light stubble and his biceps that was perfectly hugged by his sleeves. This man at an age of thirty, looked ravishing.
I wasn't just standing there and admiring his figure but also think what to say. How did he get inside my suite? And why the fuck did he address himself as my husband? He is not...in the first place and why did he decorate the room? And above all, how come he got to know that I am staying here at this hotel?
The moment I opened my mouth to speak, he said, "Welcome back Amaya," his voice...gosh! It has grown sexier in the passage of time.
Concentrate Amaya...concentrate. Don't entertain him, just throw him out of the room.
"What are you doing here Arjun?" I asked folding my arms over my breast.
"I am here to welcome my wife back into my life!" He said and started walking closer.
"Ex wife," I corrected him and smirked. And why the hell will I want to ever get back into his life?
"No baby...MY wife," he stressed on the word 'My' making me hot with anger.
He divorced me six years back...did he meet with an accident that got him Amnesia or is he just being sarcastic?
"Arjun, why are you here?" I asked sounding tiered and worn out. I am sick of his stupid games. I hate him.
"I am glad you came back," he smirked back and walked two step closer to me.
He fished his phone out if his pocket and dialed to someone. I was confused...no, hell confused! Goddd...this man.
"Thanks Shreyasi. Amaya is here," he said and it made me go haywire. Shreyasi? Why would she do this? I mean why for godsake! She knew everything...except the parents part and still she did this. Why?
I felt I was going to drown into the pool of tears that filled my eyes. It pained to see that I was getting tricked again. A huge game was being played with me and I was doing nothing but dance in their gestures like a puppet.
"Oh sure....hmm...okay then, bye," he hung the call and looked at me with his eyes holding no emotions at all.
"Arjun I don't understand how you came inside and how were you allowed in," I displayed my confusion as my voice sounded crooked and shaken.
"I own this hotel baby," he smirked and then took out a set of papers kept on the holder. It looked like some legal papers.
He brought them to me and handed it over to me making me examine it in whatever way possible.
They were our divorce papers. The same old papers on which I had signed years back but the husband's signature remained empty. He hadn't signed it and if what I am seeing is true, he still is my husband.
"Got your answers?" He asked while an evil half smile covered his sexy face.
I just couldn't believe my eyes and his words. I hated Shreyasi and regretted my decision. If he is still married to me then why is he marrying Disha? I hate this man to my guts and I can't stand him anymore.
"You are still mine," he declared and with that he dangerously stood close to me...his body not even an inch apart from mine.
