Chapter Two: Escape
Dean raced through the museum trying to get far away from his pursuers. He looked behind him and saw that the older guy was following him. His lady friend was nowhere to be found, he turned swiftly around the corner and entered a completely different room possibly the cafeteria since there were tables and even some servers watching in shock as the chase ensued.
"Don't you cops have anything better to do?" Dean said as the two did a small dance around a table. "I mean come on! This isn't a movie like the Red Notice!"
"The fact that you know about that movie says so much about your personality thief!" Sam said. "Now stop doing this cat-and-mouse dance and come with me willingly."
"I would but," Dean started and kicked a table toward the officer pinning him against the wall. "I have somewhere I need to be." Dean turned and raced out of the cafeteria. As he ran, he heard a table crash causing him to pick up the pace. He searched for some way to get out without the police knowing. His eyes landed on a closet and stepped inside. Dean searched for another way to get out when he glanced upwards and saw an air vent. "Yahtzee." Dean used the shelves to climb up and removed the vent cover. Lifting his arms, he pushed himself on through and into the vent. Safely in the vents, he started army crawling searching for a way to get out.

Sam groaned in annoyance, the thief had once again escaped, but Sam believed he wouldn't get far. He grabbed his phone and dialed Sarah. Sarah picked up on the other end.
"Did you find him?" Sarah asked.
"I had him, but he pinned me against the wall," Sam explained. "I had to push the table away from me," he continued. "Sarah, go back to the van, check to see where he would have gone."
"You got it, I'll let you know as soon as I can." Sarah said and the line went dead. Sam took off out of the cafeteria and searched the rest of the museum until eventually he saw that a closet door was open. Sam walked over to it and stepped inside, thinking that the culprit was on the shelf he looked up and saw that the air vent cover was removed.
"Well, I'll be," Sam said. "This guy is smart." Sam's phone rang, he answered it immediately thinking it was Sarah, but really it was an unknown number.
"I got to hand it to you kid," the voice said it didn't take long for Sam to realize who it was. "You almost had me, but guess what, I've outmaneuvered you just like I did those gunmen twenty-four years ago."
"Listen here genius," Sam said his mouth dipping into a frown. "I don't care how long it takes, you aren't getting away with that pearl on my watch."
"Funny, since I'm the one escaping and you're the one searching for me." In the background he heard what sounded like a fan which was suddenly stopped. Realization dawned on Sam as he figured out where the man was hiding.
"Dean!" Sam yelled forcing Dean to go silent. "You think you've outmaneuvered me, but we will not stop until you are in our custody."
"I don't know how you figured out my name, but good luck trying to catch up to me." saying nothing else, the line went dead. Sam tried to call but no sound would come out. Knowing that Dean was in the vents gave him a head start since he now knew where to look. Once again dialing Sarah she picked up almost immediately.
"Sarah," Sam said. "Check the air vents, I think he's escaping from there, once you find him let me know, i'm heading out of the museum now." Sam raced out of the museum and around the building where he met up with Sarah. The two found an air vent that led out of the museum from which Dean was hiding in. Sam made a hand gesture signaling for Sarah to get next to the vent. Sarah nodded and did exactly as Sam said. Sam stayed on the other side of the vent guns in hand, they waited patiently until the vent was busted open and Dean stepped out. Right at that moment Dean looked around until his eyes landed on Sam and Sarah.
"Shit.." Dean said as Sarah and Sam grabbed Dean by the arms and pulled him to his feet.
"Dean Winchester you are under arrest for stealing a precious artifact," Sam said while Sarah grabbed the messenger bag from around Dean's neck. Sam forced Dean onto the car and pulled his arms behind his back cuffing him. "You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law, you have the right to an attorney if you can't afford one then one will be provided for you." Sam made Dean get into the van, with Dean now in cuffs, Sam and Sarah could retrieve the artifact and return it to the museum.

Dean told his boss that stealing the pearl in broad daylight was a terrible idea. Now here he was in an interrogation room getting ready to be interrogated by one of the best FBI agents around. Sam McDuff, Dean knew all about him, the kid was top of his class, graduated from college at just twenty years old and getting a job with the FBI at twenty-one. Sure, the kid was smart, but he could slip passed even the best cops. This guy was no exception. They cuffed Dean to the chair so he wouldn't try to escape. After a few minutes of waiting, Sam McDuff stepped into the room with a determined look on his face.
"Comfy?" Sam asked.
"If by comfy you mean handcuffed to a table, then I'm just peachy." Dean said.
"Now that we have you, I'd like to ask you a few questions."
