Chapter Thirteen: To Find a Bitch

Picking the lock took little time, considering Sam seemed to know his way around a lock pick. Dean was silent, embarrassed by what he was witnessing. He wondered a good while if Sam learned that technique himself or if someone taught him.

"For a cop, you sure know your way around a lock pick." Dean said.

"Let's just say that I had a lot of practice," Sam explained. "That and I locked myself out of my apartment once while I was a senior in high school. My parents were both at work and I just so had two spare paperclips with me," Dean watched while Sam fiddled with the lock until the two heard a soft click. "Alright, let's go." Sam opened the door and Sam walked out, followed by Dean. Now that they were free, they needed to figure out where in the building that Bela was hiding out.

"We need to search this building," Dean said. "She can't have gone far. If I'm right, then she'd probably be getting the pearl ready to do that spell."

"Remind me again what else is special about this pearl?"

"Legend goes, whoever has the pearl in their hands, they can do what they wish, control who they please," Dean explained. "All they need to get the pearl started would be a blood sacrifice."

"Great, and is there a specific blood sacrifice?" Sam and Dean walked through the building searching for Bela, but hiding in case a few of her guards showed up.

"Something about spilling the blood of bond on the pearl," he continued. "Split up. We need to spread out and figure out where she is. Switch your phone to walkie talkie mood in case we get separated." Sam nodded, and both brothers did exactly like they planned to do and split up, going in opposite directions.

Sam didn't like the idea of splitting up, not when they had a bitch to find. Bela would try anything and everything she could to separate them. This was one way. He walked through the corridors and down different hallways until he paused hesitantly, like something was actually following him. He turned around but didn't see anyone and continued walking until eventually he stopped yet again and turned around, only for someone to sneak up behind him. Remembering his training, Sam turned and fought back, kicking his enemy away from him. Bela's henchman tried to attack him again, but Sam evaded the attack, fighting back harder. No way was he going to get taken again by Bela's bitch.

"You really have a fight in you, Samuel." Bruce said. "But you know there are things we can do. Police officers are one thing, but you're seriously trying to fight against us?"

"Save it for the court's asshole," Sam said. Bruce only chuckled and attacked Sam yet again, kicking him into a nearby water dispenser. Sam groaned and looked around for any sort of weapon when his eyes landed on loose wiring. Reaching for it he grabbed it and just as Bruce came after him, he stood and wrapped the wire around Bruce's wrists and twisted them until Sam tied Bruce's arms behind his back. "Finally, now why don't you be a good sport and tell me exactly where Bela and that pearl are." Bruce struggled to pull his hands away, but Sam tightened his grip. "Tell me!"

"On the roof!" Bruce complained. "She's on the roof! She's getting the pearl ready!"

"For a sacrifice?" Sam asked. But when Bruce said nothing, Sam squeezed tighter, forcing Bruce to groan yet again.

"Yes!" he yelled. "But she can't do it without the blood bond!"

"Which is what, exactly?"

"I won't tell you!"

"Then you're useless to me." Sam slammed Bruce against the wall, knocking him out instantly, but once he turned around, someone hit him in the face, causing him to pass out.

"Thank you for coming after me." said a voice which seemed to echo in the distance.

Bela smirked evilly since she knocked Sam out. Using Bruce as bait was the perfect plan to separate the brothers. It was something that she had been looking forward to the most. He was annoying and she could careless about what happened to him. She tied Sam against a bar on the roof and waited for the young officer to wake up. While she waited, she went through and made sure she got all the ingredients she needed, save for the whole situation about needing blood bond. Her plan was simply, use Sam as bait to lure Dean to the roof and therefore, making it less work for her. Sam stirred and opened his eyes. Bela looked over at him and made her way over.

"So glad that you're awake." Bela said.

"What do you want this time?" Sam asked.

"Well, for one, I'm using you as bait," Bela explained. "And for another, as soon as Dean gets up here, I'll begin the ritual."

"What makes you think that this ritual will work?"

"What, you don't think I'm a good caster?" Bela asked. "Because last time I checked, I could nail all the spells I needed, and the search for blood was easier once you two discovered each other."

"What does our blood have to do with any of this?" Sam asked.

"Your blood is special. For this spell to work, I needed the blood of bond," she explained. "Meaning, a bond that is strong enough to bind everything together. This is exactly what you are. You and Dean are strong together and with your blood tainting this pearl, it'll give me the power to control anyone I speak of," Bela kept going. "My first victims will be the two brothers that nearly cost me the pearl!"

"You won't get away with this."

"Oh sweetheart," Bela said and kneeled in front of Sam. "I've been getting away with it for a long time. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get the rest of these ingredients ready. Just sit back and enjoy the show."
