During an uprising in Arcadia, year 3231, a baby is reborn after its tragic death, 1000 years before.
That same baby is reborn into a dull life, with the name of Amaris Formen, a miserably broke, determined, and brave 19-year old wannabe doctor.
Her second chance at an entity, she knows nothing of her past life.
However, what if she must recall her past to save her small town from the president? Will she die at the hands of an evil tyrant that kills all mutants that cease to exist?
The Curse Of Ares follows Amaris Formen, who was once the villain of the story, seeking redemption from her past faults. As well as a runaway prince, Demitrious Kingston, who lost his kingdom at the hands of the King. As their once dull lives tumble through turbulent events in Lysteria, again and again, they will come to know the meaning of trust, love, friendship, and pure hatred.
Furthermore, Amaris will find herself troubled by her past and will question all that she has known since birth. Will her conscience allow her to do whatever is needed to stop Max, her half brother that is determined to kill her? Will it permit her to end the president's regime, that wants to erase mutants and people with magic from existence while saving her father and everyone she cares about? Or will she die trying?

Hi, I'm Dru, an interviewer from The Punk Disney Club Community. What pen name/name and pronoun would you want to be used?
Celeste O would be great.
❂
Hello Celeste O, nice to meet you. Let's start easy, shall we? How long have you been writing?
Sure. I’ve been writing for 3 years, starting off with short stories. Oh, and it's nice to meet you as well.
❂
3 years, that seems like a steady passion off to great things. Why do you write?
I write because it helps me express myself and I’m always coming up with new ideas that are definitely worth writing. As well as that, I’ve always loved writing little stories and sharing them.
And being able to look back at my old work and have a laugh is a big plus.
❂
That is wonderful. We express ourselves in different ways.
The Curse of Aries is an interesting story. Where did you get the inspiration for this story?
I got inspired by The Hunger Games and Divergent, as I loved how they portrayed the characters in such dystopian worlds. Rather than that, I didn't really get much inspiration for it, as I came up with the base of the idea pretty much on the spot.
❂
The Hunger Games and Divergent? Those are amazing books.
Tell me more about the book. What was the journey like? Was it hard? Did you have obstacles?
Yeah definitely, some of my favorite books. Well, the book is about a girl who lives in such a cruel and unfair world for people like her, and she'll really have to struggle to survive and protect the people she cares about. I'm currently still writing the book but it's definitely not easy. If I'm on a tight schedule for a specific day, I kind of have to only write what I can and miss out on some great ideas I might have come up with that day. Also, not being able to write anything (writer's block) is definitely a hard obstacle as well, but I do try to push through it and just write anything.
❂
The more I hear the story from you, the more I want to know more and more about it.
Speaking of writer's block, a lot of writer's experience this, how do you deal with it?
Well, thanks. But uh this is going to sound really weird, but I try watching a few youtube videos and rereading some of my favorite dystopian books. Then, I actually try to sleep, because I get most inspired in my sleep. Then like an hour later, I just start writing again. As weird as it sounds, it works really well for me.
❂
Well, as weird it may seem, I actually do that sometimes when I have writer's block.
The Curse Of Ares is such an interesting title. What is the significance behind it?
The Curse Of Ares is basically a curse upon all people from the planet of Ares are from which is the fact that the only way they'll live is if they take medicine made up of the crystals from the planet that was blown up, of course with that comes the horrible side effects from it, which is why some of them call it a curse. As well as that, Amaris's father's name is Ares, and so his curse is the curse he put upon the Earth, which is Amaris. The catch with that though is that it's for the readers to decide whether she was a curse or a blessing upon Earth based on her action through the book.
But uh to be honest, at first, I thought the title might have been too weird, bazaar even, but it's definitely grown on me.
But yeah, that's the significance.
❂
Well, a title speaks about the story so don't worry about it. It sounds interesting.
Amaris is an interesting character. How did you come up with her character? Was she inspired by people in your life?
But I kind of imagined her as this strong willed person who has a bunch of insecurities and flaws to deal with. She wasn’t really inspired by anyone in my life but more of crafted from scratch if that makes sense.
❂
Really? That's amazing. She sounds like a character that would deal with many things in her life but, those things will make her more and more of an amazing character.
Besides Amaris, is there a character in your story that holds a special place in your heart? Why?
Definitely. But I think Lilanna, a little girl Amaris meets in the book, will always hold a special place in my heart because I imagined her as a sweet silent little girl who's shy but trusts too much and always wants to help people in need.
While being still being traumatized by her parents death.
❂
Lilanna sounds like a sweet, brave, and caring little girl.
The City of Lysteria sounds like a brilliant and interesting place. How did you create this? What inspired this place to be?
Thank you and she is. But uh when I created it I just thought of how a rundown Detroit would look like with a luxurious capitol at the end of it.
❂
Seriously? That sounds brilliant! And your welcome!
Have you always wanted to become a writer?
Well I never really thought about it. I kind of put to the side, like if I ever had a novel that did really well, I would try to become a full time writer. But it would be really cool.
❂
Yes, I think you would be a cool writer.
For you, what comes first: the characters or the plot? Why?
Thank you. But I think the plot comes first because if you have no plot and great characters, what’s the point of the story.
But then again if you have an amazing plot and horrible characters that’s just wasted potential, so I guess it depends. I just like coming up with the plot first personally.
❂
Yes, both traits are important. They make the story fantastic and amazing.
Who is your fictional idol? Why?
Lilly Linton from Storm and Silence because she’s a literal queen. And the way she doesn’t need a man to make her happy, is a feminist, and is independent makes her my favorite fictional idol of all time.
As well as that Hermione Granger, since they have the same traits.
And of course there are more but those are the ones that came straight to mind.
❂
Both characters are amazing. I don't know much about Lilly Linton, but she sounds an amazing, powerful character.
Who are the authors in the genre that you admire?
Rob Thier, in historical fiction, is great because his stories are just those things that want to keep you reading and reading which is something I admire. In romance, Kierra Cass, because I loved the selection series and it was one of my favorite romance books of all time. And in fantasy definitely J.K Rowling because Harry Potter is iconic.
❂
All three authors are amazing and super talented.
In your opinion, what are the most important elements in good writing?
Definitely! I think the most important elements are grammar/punctuation, a purpose, and coherence.
I think if you have these things, you automatically have a great head start at what you're writing.
❂
Such very good elements!
What was the hardest thing you've encountered as a writer?
Thank you! The hardest thing I’ve encountered in writing is probably losing interest in what I’m writing, or having people doubt me in writing. I feel like sometimes I push myself to finish a project that I dread writing, and it makes me fall out of love with writing itself. As well as that, having people doubt some of my projects sometimes kind of makes me second guess doing it all together.
❂
Well, I think you have a talent for writing. Sometimes we need to have obstacles in our ways to make us better writers and better people. And forcing yourself isn't good for you, you need to write because you want to, not because you need to or because you are being forced to.
How do you stay inspired to write/stay inspired to finish this book?
Aww thank you! Well I like to listen to music for like hours and then just write, as well as that since I plan to at least make a second book and publish it as a series, it’s like how can I do that if I can’t finish the first one? So, I keep that in mind and since I genuinely enjoy writing it, I get inspired to write it easily.
❂
That's great for you. Music is really a wonderful thing, it helps us connect and express ourselves in many different ways.
Was there ever a time you wanted to give up on something important to you? Why?
Yes, plenty of times, but specifically a time where I wanted to give up on a project I was doing for school because I thought there was no way I could finish it. But, I had a load of people tell me that I should keep trying and finish it and I did. Now, I entered it into an award and I’m still waiting for it’s result to this day.
I believe it comes out sometime next month.
❂
That's really amazing! The best of luck to you.
What was the highlight of making this book?
Thank you! I think the highlight of making the book so far is being able to come up with new ideas and make memorable scenes. Like making a scene that’s devastating, but also making a heartwarming scene as well.
❂
Hmm, that seems interesting.
When you're writing an emotionally draining (sad, suicide, etc.) scene, how do you get in the mood?
I like to listen to some sad music while writing it and after one song I kind of transform my writing into something dark, but it kinda comes naturally. Like even if I’m happy I can still write something dark and it’s really weird. But probably comes from watching too much tv.
But yeah I think when you read a lot of different things and watch a lot of different things, writing a series of different things becomes easier.
❂
Huh, really? I think I need to do that when writing those kinds of scenes.
If you were given the chance to go back in time, where would you go and what would you do?
Back to 2015 and warn everyone about corona and also time travel with trump to the present time and put him in an adoption center so President Trump will never become President of the US. Also warn everyone about murder hornets.
I meant to time travel back when Trump was born and bring him back to the present time.
❂
Yep, Coronavirus sucks but we need to live through it. And I guess Trump is really hated upon nowadays.
That was the end of the interview. Thank you so much for the time! Is there anything you would like to say to your fans?
Of course, thank you for the interview! If I do have any fans, I’d say thank you for your support and to keep being you and doing what you love!
