"After watching Ash's gym match against Misty until it was interrupted by Team Rocket. Logan, Elaine, and Pearl were getting ready to leave when Ash stopped them by asking Logan if he wanted to travel with them. Leaving Logan unsure how to answer," The narrator said as he was seen looking over at Elaine and Pearl.

"That is a kind offer, but I think I will stick with my group of three," Logan said.

"Are you sure you don't want to tag along with us?" Misty asked.

"Yeah. Maybe if we run into each other again, I might change my mind, but for now, it just is the three of us and my Pokemon," Logan said, turning away.

He then waved bye and started walking on and off with Elaine and Pearl when Ash called out.

"Hey Logan, next time we meet, I hope to challenge you to a battle!" He called out.

"Sure thing Ash!" Logan called back as Ruby got comfortable on his shoulder.

"Your cousin is loud," Pearl commented.

"Yeah, he is, which is why he chose to travel with Logan," Elaine said."Though I probably would have ended up traveling with him if Logan had said yes, just not wanting to be alone," She said.

"I didn't know what to say at first because he caught me off guard, but I decided my group right now was good enough for me," Logan stated.

"Glad to hear that traveling with you has been fun," Elaine said.

"Same, even if I don't know you that well yet," Pearl agreed.

"Well, let's travel as much as we can and then set up camp for the evening and then, in the morning, continue the journey to Vermillion City," Logan said as he Elaine and Pearl left Cerulean City, beginning the journey to Vermillion City.

The following day after eating breakfast and clearing up their campsite. Logan, Elaine, and Pearl were walking down the next route leading to Vermillion City.

"Alright, Vermillion City, the next stop and location of my third gym badge," Logan said, looking at the map on his Pokenav.

"I heard there is an excellent cruise ship. Maybe we can check it out afterward," Pearl said.

"That could be fun, plus your Pokemon could use a rest after three gym battles," Elaine stated.

"Lit!"

"Sure, I don't see a reason not to have some relaxation time after the gym," Logan said."However, first, we need to get through this route," He said, turning his attention back to the path ahead, putting his Pokenav away.

"Heads up, I heard from a trainer at the Pokemon Center before we left that there are a lot of trainers around here eager to battle," Pearl said.

"Got it; then it will be a great way to get in some more training for my Pokemon," Logan commented, walking ahead.

"I guess so since you swapped out two of your Pokemon," Pearl said, walking up to Logan.

"I can't wait to see who will evolve next," Elaine said curiously as she ran up to them to keep up.

"Who knows? Guess we'll find out as we make our way through here," Logan said as the three of them continued the great of the walk-in silence.

As they continued down the path, Logan ended up battling against nine trainers who challenged him to a battle, and he was now going against the tenth trainer.

He was battling a young boy using a Rattatta while using Fani, his Ekans hoping to get him close to evolving soon.

"Fani Dig!" Logan ordered.

"Ekans!" Fani cried out as she dug underground and then came back up from under Rattata, sending it flying into the air and then onto the ground, knocked out.

"Wow, you're amazing as a trainer," The boy complimented as he recalled his Rattata."You should challenge A.J."

"A.J.? Who is A.J.?" Logan asked, giving Fani a berry for his hard work.

"A.J. is a savage trainer and owns his gym. It is not official by the Pokemon, but he is a powerful trainer," The boy explained.

"Oh, I see. Thanks for the information and battle," Logan said, returning Fani to his Pokeball.

"Good luck against him," The boy said as he left.

"So what do you girls think?" Logan asked as he turned to his friends.

"It sounds interesting, not something for me, but definitely for you," Elaine said." However, I have been thinking about breeding since I met Brock."

"A Pokemon breeder is a decent choice if that's really what you're interested in, and Logan, I say go for it could be fun to watch," Pearl stated.

"Alright then, let's go," Logan said.

So the trio arrived in front of a building with tall wooden walls and bold signs that read 'A.J's Gym.' Right next to it was a scoreboard that said 98 wins and 0 losses.

"98 wins in a row, that's definitely impressive," Logan stated, with Ruby nodding in agreement.

"It's a nice gym," Elaine

"I'm surprised it's not official with that record," Pearl commented.

"Are you my next challenger," A voice said from behind them.

They turned around to see a boy with spiky green hair wearing a black and red shirt, blue shorts, and sneakers.

"I take it your A.J.?" Logan asked.

"Yep, that's me, "He replied."So are you here to challenge me?

"Yes, I'm Logan."

"Great, this will be my 99th win," A.J. grinned and pointed to his gym that the gang was looking at before."Follow me."

A.J. brought Logan to the battlefield.

"This will be a 1-1 match," A.J. said and released his Pokemon."Go, Sandshrew."

"Sandshrew!"

"Mittens, let's go!" Logan said, sending out his Meowth as Ruby watched from near his leg.

"Meow!" Mittens cried out, glaring at Sandshrew.

"That a feisty Meowth you got," A.J. commented.

"I know she loves to battle," Logan commented.

"Sandshrew, use Rollout!" A.J commanded.

Sandshrew curled into a ball and rolled towards Mittens.

"Mittens, jump up!" Logan commanded.

"Meowth!" Mittens cried out as she jumped up, avoiding the attack.

"Now, Body Slam!" Mittens then lowered her body and slammed down on top of Sandshrew.

"Sandshrew use Swift," A.J. ordered.

Sandshrew's tail glowed A.J.low and fired multiple yellow stars from it.

"Swift as well," Logan said.

Mitten's tail glowed white as she fired multiple golden stars, which collided with Sandsnrew Swift.

"Now finish this with the move we worked on last night, Bubble Beam!"

Mittens then released a beam of bubbles hitting Sandshrew and sending him flying back, hitting the battlefield and making it faint.

"No!" A.J. cried out.

"Nice work, Mittens," Logan said, picking up Mittens and stroking behind her ear, making her purr.

A.J. picked up his fallen Pokemon."Are you okay, Sandshrew?"

"Shrew," Sandshrew cried out with a nod.

"I must say, Logan, I must admit that was spectacular. I didn't expect for your Meowth to pull off a powerful attack to take out my Sandshrew, who normally handles water," A.J. complimented.

"Thank you. Sorry that you didn't get 99th wins," Logan apologized as he returned Mittens.

"Ah, don't worry about it," A.J. said."I'll just battle another trainer to earn it, and soon as I get 100th wins, I'll start earning Gym badges."

"Well, I wish you good luck, and maybe when you start your journey, we can battle again," Logan said, holding out a hand.

"I hope so because you're a great trainer," A.J. said, shaking Logan's hand.

The trio bid farewell to A.J. and continued the road to Vermillion City.

"After successfully beating A.J., Logan and the gang were back on their way to Vermillion City," The Narrator said as the gang is seen walking away from the gym.
