Prologue
Do you know the saying 'There are two kinds of people in the world, ones who steal, and ones who are stolen from.'? You've probably heard it and if you haven't, then now you have.
Anyways, it's a saying I repeat to myself almost every day. As I go about my day to day life, or when I'm walking down a path to nowhere.
It's a saying that I believe is true.
My name is Elizabeth Scales. Just your average 16 year old..... Not! My maths teacher calls teenagers shapes. They all act the same and try to look the same, so that they can fit their role in this messed up society. I am on the other hand am the irregular shape of the school. I don't act the same, I don't look the same and I don't feel the same.
My appearance is totally different to all the other people who roam the school of Soyers Academy. All the girls are tall, thin, and beautiful. All the boys are fit, sporty and what the rest of the student body call 'Hot balls of awesomeness'. I am on the other hand, a small girl, nerdy glasses and a hair style that literally states 'open for any relationship, whether you are female or male'.
Additionally, my mind works differently. When they all reach the age to have fun and mess around with boys, who are probably in college or university, I'm in my dorm, alone, watching a Japanese horror show or listening to out of date rock music like Linkin Park or All Time Low.
Now, when I say alone, I might be slightly exaggerating. I do have a friend, Max. You see, Max is the kind of guy who will literally never leave your side, mainly because he has no reason to. He doesn't have a girlfriend, or a boyfriend, and literally lives with me. He's my roommate. Our school is a private academy, a place where rich parents with way too much time on their hands sends their 'little sweethearts', who also have way too much time on their hands.
I though, don't have parents. Once before I enrolled at Soyers Academy, I lived with Max's parents. They sort of adopted me, but not officially. I just lived with them as Max's best friend once my parents had died. That was long ago when I was 10. Now, as a 16 year old girl with a small imagination, yet a huge heart, Max and I have come a long way.
Anyways, back to the saying.
Let me explain,what it means to the people who don't know what it means.
For example;
Say you're a bully. And you bully someone. You are the stealer. You're stealing the happiness from someone. However, the person you have bullied is the victim. They have had their happiness stolen away from them.
Yet,
When you lose your virginity to someone, if it is both of your first time, then you are both a stealer and a victim of it being stolen.
Back to the story, what your about to hear is an account of my life. My mental, messed up life, as I try to find the path.
The path to love.
