How they meet: Emerald came to the Kanto region with her starter Pokemon Trevor the Treecko, and her best friend and his little brother to discover new Pokemon on her journey to become a grass-type gym leader. She ends up meeting Austin in the Viridian City Pokemon center, where they first encounter Team Rocket and win against them in a battle. Emily finds Emerald to be interesting and tells Austin to invite her along with them.
