Laura laughed happily as she ran around the forest, hopping and skipping around like a little girl. It felt so good to be free again! To run around with no one telling you what to do and what not to do! To feel the wind blowing in your face! Such freedom! Laura continued to run around before running into a tree and fell onto the ground, rubbing her nose. "Oww....my nose!"she whined softly before standing up and felt the tree. "Hmm....it feels like it's a very strong tree. Feels tall too..."she said. Then she got an idea and started to climb up the tree, grasping at the branches to go higher like a latter. Once she almost reached the top, she stood on a branch, holding onto the other one above her for support."Oh I haven't done this in ages!"she said, smiling as she leaned forward to feel the wind better, closing her eyes. She took in a deep breath, a smile graced onto her face as she opened her eyes.....only to see nothing. She frowned slightly. "I wish I could see again..."she said, whispering softly.

She sighed in dispare as she leaned forward more, closing her eyes again. Suddenly, she heard a creak. Her ears perked up. What was that? Her ears more around before suddenly, a snap and she was soon falling out of the tree. She panicked and started to think, but her brain was strambled as she thought. How did she fall? She was holding onto the branch above for support, to NOT fall and....that's it! She was so lost in her thoughts that she leaned too forward and broke the branch. Oh...speaking of which.

Laura tried to think of an idea before she gotten one. Using her magic, she created an aura around her and soon as she just floating in midair, stopping herself from hitting the ground. She let out a breath of relief as she floated above the ground, upside-down. "Oh, that was a close one...."she sighed, laughing softly.

"Having fun?"a voice called out to her and she screamed. But she soon recognized the voice and sighed again. "O-Oh,it's you again. What are you doing here? I thought you went back inside?"said the female, looking-well, staring straight at the male but not being able to actually see him. Shadow stared at her blankly with his arms crossed."I did, but then I saw you stupidly climbing up a tree and then almost fall to your doom from the base's windows"he said, narrowing his eyes at her. Laura's face flushed with embarrassment as she giggles softly. "O-Oh, you saw that huh?"she asked.

Shadow sighed before reaching up and pulled her into his arms, her aura of magic disappearing and he set her down on her feet. Laura smiled at him gently."Thank you"she said, only to earn a grunt from the hedgehog. He then grabbed her hand and started to drag her with him."H-Hey,wait! Where are we going?"she asked as she stumbled to keep up."I'm taking you somewhere you won't do something stupid again"he said, keeping his gaze forward."And I'm going to stay with you"he added.

Laura blinked once before speaking. "You don't have to do that-" "Your ignorance to your well being doesn't leave me an option. You're not capable to be left only even for a few minutes"he snapped. Laura decided to stay quiet as they walked before they stopped."We're here already?" She asked, only to receive a grunt as a response. She pulled her hand only for her to feel that the hedgehog tightened his hold on her hand. "Um....are you going to let me go?"she asked. Shadow looked down at her, since she was a few inches shorter than him. She then him step closer to her and then felt him move the bang she had in front of her face.

"W-What are you doing?"she asked. He just kept his eyes narrowed, his eyes staring into her grey ones as if he was looking for some kind of answer. "Shadow...?"she croaked out. He glared more at her."What are you doing to me?"he suddenly asked.

"H-huh...?"
"Everytime I see you, I can't help but be in the same place as you and I don't like it. You are an annoyance to me but yet in some strange way, you attract and amuse me for being so helpless and naive"he answered. Laura felt her face heat up as she lowered her head to cover her hot face with her hands. Shadow let out an upset growl at not receiving a response. "Answer me"he said. Laura's ear flattened as she kept her head down. How was she to answer? He was being so rude and cold.....it scared her and she closed her eyes. Suddenly, her crystal started to glow but neither payed any mind to it. Shadow grabbed her shoulders and forced her to look at him.

"I said answer me!"he said before gasping at the sight of her eyes. There they were again.... sapphire blue eyes. The same color eyes that belonged to the person he had cared for the most in his life. He let her go and she stumbled back, staring at him with wide eyes. Shadow stared at in disbelief before shaking his thoughts away. He had to stop doing that, this constant reminder of losing her. Laura only stared at him in confusion. Why did he keep doing this? Why was he like this? She took a deep breath and walked towards him. He looked back up at her."What are you doing?" He asked. Laura reached a hand out towards him, to which he swatted away."Don't touch me!"he growled. Laura recoiled before reaching out again, this time Shadow grabbed her wrist."I said, don't touch me!"he yelled, expect Laura wasn't scared this time. Instead, her eyes narrowed as she grabbed his wrist and flipped him onto the ground. Shadow grunted in pain and moved to get back up only to Laura to push him down and placed her knee onto his stomach, holding him down.

She then placed a glowing hand on his chest, over his heart and focused her energy on him. Shadow somehow struggled to get her off him before noticing what she was doing and how her eyes had started to glow white. Suddenly, her hand turned a dark red and she gasped in slightly pain before stumbling off him. He sat up, staring at her."What did you do?!"he said as the female held her head."I...I was trying to understand you..."

"Understand me? What are you talking about?"
"I was focusing my energy to see what was making you so cold....you're filled with so much hatred and anger..... You are filled with grief over a loved one...."she said, looking at him with such..... Compassionate eyes. Shadow stared back at her.

"....what do you want from me?"he asked. Laura smiled at him softly. "I just want to be your friend...."
