Hi there! I was wondering if you were free for that interview I mentioned a while back? xx
Yeah! Sorry for the silence. Notifs are a bit wacky today.
That's all good! How are you, anyway? xx
I'm doing good. It's been a quiet day, which is always good.
I've been really excited about doing this.
Haha, me too to be honest 😁
What inspired you to write your story? xx
I had always been a fan of animation and vintage stuff. The arrival of Bendy and the Ink Machine & Cuphead had really added to this huge interest in the past, and that was coupled with this really unique Tumblr blog I discovered where the creator was taking these characters and taking them in a new direction that blew my mind.
Wow, that sounds epic! I had never heard of it when I started reading your fanfic, but it sounded so intriguing by the way you wrote it xx
What do you want readers to get out of your book? xx
I wanted to show readers of this book that they didn't have to follow the "one-shots" or the " Character x Reader" so many do. I want them to take something you love in a new and creative direction. Tell us a new story and use some new curveballs to continue to blow minds.
That's what this blog did and that's what I encourage them (readers) to do.
Well, it definitely peaked my interest xx
Where were you and what were you doing when you found out you placed/TPPA-Approved? xx
I had actually just gotten done celebrating my 18th birthday back in March, I think...?
I was chilling on my bed and I saw this notification that said, "Ink Machine has been placed 3rd," and I about fainted. My book getting placed?!? I hadn't even considered that possibility. I knew I had something good, just not THAT good.
That would have been such a good birthday surprise! 😁
What does this mean to you? xx
It means I'm on the right track with the stories I want to tell. I'm planning on pursuing screenwriting in the future and creating stories people will enjoy and having fun with it myself is an important part of that.
I'm glad "The Ink Machine", which I'm rewriting because I have just gotten so many more ideas for it, has been a successful first step into this territory.
Awww, well good luck with your future screenwriting! 😁
What are you up to at the moment? What do we have to look forward to from you? Do you have anything written-wise for us to look forward to in the future? xx
Besides rewriting "Ink Machine" to include a lot more elements and to dig in to the theme of brotherhood and trust, I am currently working on:
✈︎ a Mortal Kombat retelling that involves a sports satire element
✈︎ a Mad Max-style western with a demonic train
✈︎ and a Werewolf story based on a great role-play I did with some friends of mine
I also just released a large role-play network on Discord known as "E.D.E.N.", where players can enter certain worlds and interact each other and the environment, but also take part in a story that encompasses that entire "universe".
That sounds super cool, and it seems like you've got a busy schedule! I'm glad you could find some time for this interview 😁
It's been crazy, but I've enjoyed every moment of it.
What more can we expect from "The Ink Machine"? xx
And thank you for remembering me! I know you've been busy and you have a lot more people to interview, so thanks!
Agh! WiFi's slow! Sorry!
The Ink Machine is going to follow a similar track to the blog up to a major death, but afterwards, we are going free range.
That's all good! I try and keep on top of things, and interviewing everyone has always been a top priority to me xx
And it will be crazy.
Thad's alright - just take your time xx
I can't wait for it's release! xx
How do you write a fan fiction while still maintaining originality? xx
Ooof, that is an excellent question.
I usually look at the thing I enjoy and ask myself if there are any different directions or different elements you can utilize. If there are, great! Follow them and see where they take you. If you don't like them, turn around and start over. If there aren't any directions, don't try to fix something that isn't broken. Just keep going.
That's some really good advice! xx
What do you mostly do in your free time? xx
I'm either working on my stories or feeding my vintage habit in Fallout 4.
Haha, nice, just make sure not to work yourself too hard xx
What's your favourite genre to write and why? xx
I've always been a sci-fi nerd, that's just my nature. Something about creating new and fantastic worlds with creative touches has always intrigued me.
Haha, maybe you should consider writing a Sci-Fi novel? 😉
Last question, who are some of your favourite authors on and off Wattpad? xx
There may be one in the future. I have a concept down that needs fleshing out, but it should become something eventually.
Oooh! So many options there. Can I say books I've enjoyed?
Sure, go for it! xx
Legend series by Marie Lu, Illuminae series by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth, and "Ready Player One" by Ernest Cline. On Wattpad, this book called "Futureless" by DannyAsokan has me really intrigued.
Thank you again!
That's all good! Any last words or shoutouts you wanna give? xx
Thank you to everyone who has helped me get to this point and cheers to the good times ahead!
Thanks again for this interview! xx
