Chapter Thirty-Four: You Needed Me (Remastered) (P)
"So...did I do it right..." Monika asked.
"Y-Yeah.." I said.
"Good...I mean I know guys do it all the time so..."
"Yeah...well um... goodnight." I said.
"Goodnight Spencer. I love you."
"I love you too."
I pulled Monika towards me for a kiss and she almost fell asleep as I layed my lips on hers. We both layed down and I turned off the light.
I closed my eyes and looked into the darkness of my eyelids. Soon I began to have a dream.
It was different however. I seemed to be in a house of some sort. This house seemed familiar...
"You recognize this place?" Someone said.
I looked behind me to see Crystalline. She wore less revealing clothes than before and her eye color was still blue. Her skin seemed healthy and not pale.
"This...this is Emma's house." I said.
"It sure is. You always wanted to come back here. So as a reward for all you've done, I'll let you take a look around."
I began to look around, fighting back the strong feelings I was having. Emma was my childhood friend who was... no longer with me.
I finished my walk around and looked back at Crystalline.
"She wanted me to tell you that...it wasn't your fault." Crystalline said.
"Tell her that I said..."
I thought about it for a second.
"Tell her that I'll see her again someday, and to keep your head up." I said.
"Alright, she'll get the message."
"Thank you."
My dream began to fade away but Crystalline stopped it.
"I just wanted to give this to you... personally...and this isn't me trying to seduce you."
Crystalline gave me a kiss on my cheek and it actually felt... heavenly. My dream started to fade away again and I actually woke up. I looked around and saw that I was in Monika's room still.
However Monika herself, wasn't laying next to me anymore. I got up and felt a pain in my side. My Beretta dug into my side the entire night that I slept.
I took out my gun and looked down at it sadly.
"You have done your job, thank you so much. I couldn't have made it here without you." I said to my gun.
I know it sounds weird, but I had an emotional bond with my gun. I emptied the magazine of bullets and popped the one in the chamber.
I replaced the magazine in the gun and put it on safety...for the final time ever.
I put my old gun with Monika's gun, which were hung in a case in Monika's room.
Those two guns will forever be a reminder of all the good times we've had together.
I walked out of my room to see Monika in the living room, doing something on her laptop.
"Watcha doing Monika?" I asked.
"Oh, just writing a story is all."
"Oh yeah? What's the name of it?"
"The pain in my heart."
